Happy Birthday Cake

What I ordered versus what I actually got. (Sans the candle spots on top). The worst part is, I didn't look at it until it was time to sing happy birthday. Didn't have the heart to tell my daughter she could only look at the forty dollar piece of crap. I am so pissed.

Uh, yeah. We were driving down Gentile Street when someone in the car started making up stories about why we needed to stop for ice-cream. I haven't had my pb and chocolate for ages so I was down. Did you know the logo has a "31" in it? When there's ice cream involved my awareness is heightened.

Stopped in last night for a quick treat. I had the trio de Janeiro. Kiwi, lemon and blue raspberry sherbet. I'm not a fruity, tarty kind of person, but I enjoyed it. It wasn't overly sweet or tart. Anymore than one scoop would have been too much though, IMO. My husband had the daiquiri ice. He always loves this! He said it was very strong on flavor this time. Our toddler got vanilla. The girl who served us the cutest girl ever! I wish I caught her name so I could give her a shout out. She was genuinely friendly and had great eye contact. The tables inside and out were spotless. The sidewalk was clean and free of sticky ice cream. I recommended this location and we will be back!

cappuccino blast

This baskin robins is by far the best thing i have ever put in my mouth. Their caramel cappuccino blast cured my depression. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking to wet their whistle.

Sometimes you just want some plain ole' ice cream. No fancy bells & whistles, or mix-ins attached. Baskin Robbins fits the bill. This location is the best. The same personable lady always waits on us. She's so sweet to my kids. The 31 flavors are all tasty! Every time a coupon for Baskin Robbins arrives in the coupon mailer, we head over to B.R. to use it.

Everything went smooth, from ordering, to picking up, the young lady working was really nice; the flavor was just as expected as was the presentation.

Culver's in Layton is a few years "new", which makes it even more weird that so many things…read morefeel... sticky. And I do mean a pattern, not a one-off. Front door? Sticky. Restroom door handle? Sticky. Table? Also sticky. After the third visit with the same issue, I felt like it was worth saying something to the management. Now, the food itself is a different story. The burgers are simple, solid, and always hot. I can honestly say I've never been served a cold burger here. The cheese curds are a hit with my family, and I'll give credit where it's due: they're pretty darn good. The shakes and frozen custard are excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The chicken? It's fine. Not bad, not magical. Kind of in the "you could make something similar at home" category. If you love ranch, that may help the experience along. Drive-thru is where things can go sideways. Be prepared for delays, repeating your order, and the occasional feeling that the crew is having way more fun than the customers are. Maybe it's an off-day thing, maybe it's a pattern, but it has happened enough that I expect it now. (I don't care if they're having fun. It's the screaming through the intercom, inattentive order taking because they're screwing around that I am simple over it) Would I go back? Yeah. The food is good enough that I probably will...not. (my kids will) Would I prefer to be in the passenger seat while someone else handles the ordering? Also yeah. For food that's not bad but not great (just "meh") I'll go down the street to El Burrito instead.
