Yes a part of our childhood still alive and well. Honestly glad we're going back real ice cream instead of frozen yogurt where a hundred toppings were needed and defeated the whole eating a healthy dessert concept. This location is female and minority owned by one the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I have come to know. She is constantly smiling, helping and busy with running events and making sure her store is always well stocked, safe and clean. Top notch customer service and creamy sweet satisfaction! Come on. What's not to like?!? It's Baskin Robbins! I grew up with Baskin Robbins 31 and have fond memories. BR was founded in 1945 in California. They have weathered through different iterations, but 79 years later they are the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops. Although no longer in their official name, Baskin Robbins started with "31 flavors" in their name because they wanted to have a different flavor for each day of the month. At this location, I counted 32 different flavors. Located in a new strip shopping center at the edge of Hoover and Vestavia, BR is located between a smoothie and wing place. This BR has only been opened a few months and on this Thursday afternoon, it wasn't busy. There's only room for one table with umbrella directly outside their front door so there's no much outdoor "seating". However, there is sufficient indoor seating that lines one wall despite the deceivingly small entrance. A wall freezer with frozen treats and cakes occupies the back wall. A large electronic menu bulletin board flashes beautiful items on their menu as you look through the 32 different flavors. The two women who were working today were as friendly as can be offering taste samples for anything you would like. Matthew tried their Cappuccino Blast with mocha, oreo n cookies and turtle ice cream blended into a shake. Wow it was pretty good! Yom Yom Yom. I was very tempted by a waffle cone (there's a waffle maker on the counter telling you they're made fresh daily), but I decided to try a Freeze. I get to pick an ice cream flavor and they blend it with your choice of a soda. I picked Cherries Jubilee and root beer. If you're thinking "Say What?!?", I can confirm that those two flavors do NOT go well together! My fault of course. I was the one who picked them! I just enjoyed Matthew's Blast. But this gives me an excuse to return. I'm excited about this Baskin Robbins in Hoover. It's in a good location and I hope they thrive. Welcome to Hoover! read more

I've been wanting a Baskin Robbins to open up again in Birmingham for years! I haven't been to one since I was a kid. This one in Hoover opened up earlier this year. It's kept very nice and clean. The young man working there the day I went was an absolute delight! Very friendly and even gave me coupons for my next visit. I sampled a few flavors, but ultimately chose a scoop of the Daiquiri Ice. It was so nice and refreshing! I will be back here, and highly recommend it! read more

They have a really cute variety of birthday cakes and I love the ice cream to cake ratio- more ice cream! Baskin Robbins now in my neighborhood and it doesn't disappoint. They have been generous with their new business discounts and samples. And even with the new opening specials discontinued there's streams of customers each time I come in! They have the classic flavors that I had in the 1970's at Baskin Robbins Eastwood Mall and Mountain Brook Village, and newer trendy flavors too. Today I visited Baskin Robbins. I was happy that a location was now open in the Birmingham area. I purchased a waffle cone and a 8oz fresh tub of rainbow sherbert. I noticed during this visit that they have started to weigh the containers to ensure you are receiving the appropriate amount. My waffle cone was fresh and the ice cream was delicious. The staff was very attentive. The shop was very nice and clean. Though I took my ice cream to go there are still some sitting areas available inside the shop. I would definitely return to the location again. read more
