I was surprised to see they carry the wonderful Osea skin care products as I didn't know they were made in California. I ended up buying a ceramic spoon rest, room spray, and a tiny gold "diamond" ring. Their prices were reasonable. The store owner rang up my items and was very friendly and nice. I missed the window label that proudly announced it was a small, Filipina woman owned business. A shirt with Filipino words alerted me that this was a special store fostering my cultural pride. Meeting the owner, Charlene, confirmed my discovery that she started this business 3 years ago. The shop's wall adorn by handmade paintings & a mural that conveys Charlene's spirit of her shop. While small, it was captivatingly fun to explore every nook and cranny. She even showcases and supports other women entrepreneurs. I was immediately drawn to the ZZ plants. She helped me understand the symbolism of them which inspired me to buy 2 smaller ones to help a loved one through her grief and for me to inspire my continued 2025 manifestation journey. At home, I discovered a very personal message of gratitude with a picture of one of the original artwork and an affirmation card. Knowing her origination story and impact of the store, inspires me to put Charlene's store on my short list of places to find unique, soul-filled gifts. PRICES: They really have a wide range of pricing because of their selection so I feel I can easily find something price appropriate for the person I'm buying for. They had a ton of small things under $5 (even $2 and $3 dollar things) like little mats for under your coffee mugs, but higher end like the amazing colorful hand knit scarf I bought...for myself. It was hand knit with that extra thin yarn...a million stitches and only $45?! Bring on fall! CARDS?! What? YES and so cheap (good riddance Hallmark). Tons of cards like those high end Papyrus ones at the store that are more like a part of the gift, only these started at only $3.50 a card. Crazy. HAND-CRAFTED: Sometimes I think "church bizarre" when I hear that, but they said everything in there was hand made and it looked so professional to me. SELECTION: They fit a lot of stuff in that little shop. GO HERE…read more There's lots of Pingu, Chiikawa, Calico Critters (Sylvanian Families for the purists out there), Miffy, Sanrio, and other goods that aren't easily found in other shops, at least in person. I'd even say that some of these items are hard to find even at anime conventions. It's not the same blind boxes and gacha goods that you see everywhere (but they definitely have that too). It's a shop, not a cafe, but it's located in the back of a take out Japanese restaurant, so if you want onigiri or taiyaki or a bento, you can definitely grab that to go as well. So after making a turn inside, the food becomes cute goods. They have a wide variety of items and it CAN get very crowded in there since it's literally a U shaped walkway with stacked up cute goods. Lots and lots of keychain plushies and blind boxes, some of them are only available through Miniso overseas and haven't been released in the Miniso over here. Prices can be steep for some items, seeing that they are more "rare" and now we have to deal with the implications of tariffs and literally the rising cost of everything. The Chiikawa pudding lamp was around $50 and the loooong lolita Hello Kitty plush keychains were $30, if that gives you any idea. But I was able to find some items under $5 that made for great gifts to bring back (not a lot but it did exist). For the Calico Critters, if you factor in the availability of some of the sets and subtract out the shipping, it's a pretty good deal. I haven't seen the otter family before and with shipping it was at least $8 cheaper than what it would have been online if I had purchased it (also not available on the US Calico Critters page). So definitely have your phone ready to look up prices. Follow their IG if you want to see an update on the stock of items that they have too.
