I received a very unique gift from a friend that was so adorable when my cousin from St Louis was here he wanted one for his wife. I asked my friend where she found it and she said the Basket Nook. When I looked them up online and found out where they are located I was hesitate to go but wanted to get the same gift for my cousin's wife as a surprise since she was not able to come this trip. I read the reviews on yelp and thought what the heck kind of store is this?
Today I called first to see is they were open, and even my husband commented on how nice the guy sounded on the phone, not at all what we expected after reading the reviews....I was greeted with a smile and warm hello as I entered the very large, well merchandised gift store. I told the man behind the counter I had called earlier and he remembered me and told me why he was closed when I came before and also apologized. He was very friendly and helpful, grabbed the adorable "cat sleeping positions night shirt" I came in for and then in chatting about something else he showed me his 50% off wall where I found a perfect gift for my nephew in law...Store has a large variety of gifts and collectable's at very reasonable prices and even better pricing than most gift stores.
So when I got home I came online to read these two reviews again, most the time I will read other reviews someone writes to get a feel for the type of person they are, but since this was a place I was going to go anyway, I didn't do that prior to my visit. I'm not sure what happened on Jeremy's visit but I just can't see this guy I met today treating a customer like that, there were several customers in the shop today and he treated everybody nice.
As far as Aleta's comments, read some of her other reviews and you can see she tends to voice on the negative side, this is the type of person that would find one little thing and give you a one star review. Its a shame really as reviews can make or break a small business and after my experience at the Basket Nook today all I can say is positive comments, and I will be returning when ever I need a cute little unique gift for someone. Also he mentioned he has been in the same location since the 50's or 60's so he must be doing something right read more
