I loved that I could see their beautiful holiday bouquets, gifts and decor on their website before ordering. I was able to order everything online and it was super easy and quick. The owner called me the next day with drop-off info and she was so sweet and friendly on the phone. The flowers were delivered on time and my grandma said that they smelled amazing. The gallery was founded in 2000 and located in old downtown Zionsville in Bender Square Shops. It is directly across from the parking lot and street parking is an option. Art In Hand Gallery is a Zionsville co-operative art gallery owned, operated and staffed by a community of 24 local, Indiana artists. I fell in love with several pieces of Chris Davis who does Raku Pottery with feathers and horse hair incorporated into his work. Stunning! He has an art gala in Plainfield April 26-28, '19 at the Guilford Township Library in Plainfield I hope to make. There are many forms of gorgeous art here. I fell in love with several stunning pieces of jewelry ranging in price from $35 - $295, impressive oil paintings and watercolors, vibrant fused and stained glass, breathtaking photography and printmaking, extraordinary wildlife wood carving and woodworking and outstanding pottery including Raku pottery. The prices are affordable when given the quality and beauty of these marvelous pieces. I'm already regretting not purchasing two pieces today that was what I thought was an impulse decision so I passed. Now, that was a mistake and I need to correct. The inventory is every changing and has wonderful and unique art for both your home, office or gifts for that special person. Several of the artists are participating in upcoming art fairs, gallery exhibitions, teaching and other activities. Several will be at the Indiana Artisan Marketplace, Talbott Street and Broadripple Art Fair, Carmel International Arts Festival and Bloom in Fisher's Library. Check the website for details. I'm looking for that "Why would I come back here?" appeal that makes a business a destination instead of simply going to a big box store to get something. So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. The inside almost looks like a tree house, with a slanted wood roof and incredible displays set up everywhere. Lok means "happy" in Chinese and it's a happy place indeed. The shop is a culmination of goods from several local makers, including "Little Love by Lok" which is made in-house. The owner is one of the most creative people and makes bows, baby wraps, blankets, teepees, head wraps and much more for young kids. I don't even have kids yet, but almost buy something for a future kid every time I'm in the store. I recently bought a cute pair of earrings from a local maker here and really love them. The space also has a wonderfully-sized party room (about 30 people max) and a kid room (the entire place is super kid-friendly). You can rent it out for a reasonable price or can attend workshops here. The owner also has rows and rows of gorgeous fabrics in hers studio and you can have her custom-make an item for you too. Bonus: She's also a photographer and you can book her for any of your photo needs.

She started painting furniture in her home, and now her business has grown into this beautiful shop. Brooke still paints furniture if you are considering updating an item. She painted a small cupboard for me and did a nice job. The shop is filled with gift items, home decor from furniture to soy candles, vases, greenery, pottery, mirrors, table lamps to floor lamps, Artisan tea towels, wooden lazy susan, artisan dessert plates to framed watercolors to name a just a few items. The Gift Box is located by the main desk in the Simon Cancer Center within IU Hospital. It provides comfort and smiles the minute you start shopping. The t-shirts are hysterical! She is compassionate and supportive while providing a release for those visiting loved ones in the Cancer Center. I, like many others, have people in our lives that have been touched by Cancer. Well this is the Gift Shop you need to visit as they sell many items that supports and reflects views of many cancer patients and caregivers.
