    Jalapeño soup

STOP JUDGING ME! I may or may not have eaten here twice in recent times...but their Friday salmon penne with jalapeño cream sauce is the stuff dreams are made of. A touch light on the cream sauce but that's my greed getting ahold of me because I really just desire to bathe in the sauce. I mean...jalapeños, in-house smoked salmon, cream sauce, tomatoes and penne? Just call Jenny Craig on my booty now. The Greek salad was FABULOUS! The green and kalamata olives add the perfect salty tang to the salad. Lettuce was crisp and fresh, not wilted (which I find so often!) and the dressing was the perfect Greek-ish touch. Red onions were strong (but good) and the feta...hello, it's cheese so of course it was delish! Lasagna wasn't my favorite (not bad just not wow'd by it) but loving the Greek salad w/ chicken added. The beef vegetable soup w/ pasta was bomb! It had just enough heat to want to keep eating more of it; delish! Lasagna with jalapeño cream sauce on top is the stuff pasta dreams are made of! I didn't love the jalapeño cream soup but I really think I was too busy with drinking my jalapeño cream sauce to notice the soup! I know where I'll be on Friday at lunch...every week. Ok, twice a week. Fine, daily; I'm eating here daily. Don't make me admit maybe hourly!

I've been here a few times now. I must admit I wasn't particularly enthused with their sausage & pepper pasta. This last time, though, I had the linguine Alfredo and that dish was a joyful plate full of comfort food. It totally hit the spot! I've also had their Red Pepper Soup a couple of times and it's very good. I'm not a huge fan of their pizza, but as other Yelpers here have stated, this is a solid spot for lunch.

It made the whole place smell delicious! Daily specials? Absolutely. A menu with a little something for everyone--bowls, pizzas, sandwiches--but make it high-end. Add in cocktails and lattes (because choices matter), a really nice space where you can actually sit, relax, and visit without shouting across the table, and you have a win. Service was solid and smooth, and the automatic gratuity for our group made checkout easy and drama-free. Though I will say I don't understand this philosophy, but okay! You would have gotten more out of me. If you are looking for a spot that delivers good food, good vibes, and room to enjoy the people you are with, St Kilda's delivered.

The salmon was fresh served with two poached eggs that increased the scrumptious taste as the small steamed sliced finger potatoes, sliced cherry tomatoes and leaves of baby spinach circled the plate illuminating an eye appealing dish that was Flavor-town worthy. The side salad tossed in ranch was fabulous, but the red velvet cake was dry in the center needing a little tender loving care as it related to the mixing, baking temperature or more oil to improve the center moisture. The decor was very upscale mod suitable for casual dining making it a perfect place for social gatherings. Another small business in the Junction to try and support.

They have a large outdoor terrace, and of course a good deal of indoor seating. The terrace hosts musicians on some Fridays, which was what brought us to have lunch here. It was very good! I ordered the Tacos Carnitas - a nicely spiced pork with rice, on a soft corn tortilla. The order of 3 was a good sized lunch portion for me. My wife got the grilled salmon, which was a good sized filet on a mound of fresh veggies, with a butter sauce. It was also a good sized portion, with pretty good fish, and nicely cooked veggies. They had a number of cakes available that looked awesome, but we decided to call it quits after polishing off our entrees. Service was very good - our drinks were topped off frequently and without asking, and once the sun came out we moved outdoors to enjoy the music (although we could also hear it inside with the doors opened), and our server continued to check on us after we'd paid our check. Nice spot if you are in this area - windows give an expansive view of the southeast part of the East Village area. Good food, service, and on this day...entertainment!
