I had to pick an Rx up at the Walgreens up at 128th and University in Clive today at lunch. Walgreens is basically next door to Z'Mariks. I used the Local by Toast app on my cell phone to place a quick online order, for pick up, so I could grab food and head back the office. Local by Toast is easy to use and it only took a few minutes to key in my standard order. Regular Z'Udon (add chicken and no carrots or cilantro). Extra mushrooms and broccoli. Extra spicy! My order was ready at the time the app said it would be (1145 AM). I was greeted immediately when I walked up to the front counter. The counter service here is always top notch! The Z'Udon... Always on point. This is why it's one my standard orders here...! Noodles are always cooked well. Chicken is tender. Broccoli and mushrooms are steamed down and not hard. And the sauce... They nail the extra spicy every time! Reasonably priced, the portion sizes are decent, and it's usually an enjoyable experience whether you choose to dine-in or grab it to go...! read more

okay believe it not the z'asian was very good. sweet and JUICY. the combo was quite economic and proportional for the price. good deal. very nice mac and cheese size and cheese pull. the z beer cheese soup was way too cheesy i really don't know what i was expecting but fr it was not that good. the pasta was solid tho! and i dipped my mac and cheese in the cheese soup so it was fine. good vibes and lights, and nice staff. read more

Really delicious food, that is easy to order, is served quickly, while also being affordable and a lovely atmosphere! There are cute lights hanging from the ceilings and flowers at every table, which is a sweet touch to help the atmosphere feel more comfortable. I ordered the alfredo with chicken, and my friend ordered the pesto with chicken; both were delicious! read more

Came in at about 11:20 for a quick lunch. I wasn't really feeling the noodles today, so I decided on the Caesar salad. The order was placed to a very cheerful lady behind the register. She gave us our number and we grabbed what we needed and took a seat. Since we both got salads they come out rather quickly. Everything was accurate and we both got half sizes everything was perfect for our quick lunch. The restaurant was clean and well lit. They were slow when we had arrived but by the time we got done with our lunch there was a waiting line to order. I think I might have to come back and try the jalapeno bacon mac that was on the sign. Looked like it was not a permanent item, so we shall see. read more

Z'mariks Noodle Cafe' is probably one of the best fast-casual restaurants I've ever been to! The food is amazing. (My daughter's #1 favorite) Not to mention the exquisite service! They are never short-staffed, and employees are always friendly and food comes quickly. Their menu has many healthy and delicious options for the whole family, my daughter's favorite being their "Z'chicken fajita bowl", mine being their "Z'asian salad" and my wife's being their famous classic, "Z'mac and cheese." But the whole menu is certainly outstanding, and so are the prices! I don't believe I've ever even spent over $50 on a meal there! Location is also amazing, right next to the shopping mall! Overall, this is a household favorite and we only wish there was a location closer to where we are! read more

Not a lot of great options for teriyaki in Des Moines area but this was pretty good. Not great but definitely an option if I need food. I went with the tofu teriyaki. Tofu wasn't the best but the fresh veggies and teriyaki sauce is what I really liked. Staff was also very friendly and the ambiance was great. Definitely go back and just exclude the tofu next time. If they would ever grill their tofu I'm sure the dish would be amazing but just a thought. Check it out and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. read more

Very good, fresh, and tasty food at reasonable prices. We met our daughter and granddaughter there for lunch as it is very kid and adult friendly. Order at the counter and stop on the way to your table to fill your drink and your food arrives at your table a few minutes later. The daughter and granddaughter got the big penne, which is a more basic pasta tossed with butter and topped with cheese. An adult and kid favorite for them! I went for the chicken fajita bowl and substituted brown rice (at no additional charge). It was a nice combination of veggies and flavor, and the chicken was moist and tender. For my taste it needed a bit of spicing up, and while I prefer Tabasco, they had a zingy hot sauce on the table that accompanied the flavors quite well. My wife got the Veggie Tuscana, which is a nice mix of fresh veggies and a sprinkling of cheese. She enjoyed it but thought she maybe should have opted for some chicken or other protein which is available for an additional charge. The only other thing she wished for was that they had a whole grain option for the pasta. Otherwise, it was exactly what she expected and very tasty! Busy place, so you may wait a few minutes at lunchtime, but they were quick to get the food out and the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

Maybe a hair expensive for the small size on the orders but the quality and flavors were good. We ordered the Thai stirfry rice bowl with chicken which frankly could've been any kind of Asian flavor profile there was nothing too distinctly Thai about it, and the Greek salad with chicken as well. The salad was very fresh and crisp. The chicken was cut into cubes which really gives it a processed feeling it would be nicer if they cut it into strips. The ordering and pick up process was smooth and the location on the north east corner of the mall gives it lots of bright light inside. There are TVs on the wall so you can keep up with the days news. We would likely return if in the area. read more

Currently my obsession. I always order takeout and I've never had a bad experience. Food is ready within minutes and still hot by the time I get home. I can't get myself away from the chicken fajita bowl, but I really want to try some other goodies on the menu. I've been to Z'Mariks countless times and never have come out disappointed. My usual is just the Mac & Cheese. Simple, but SO delicious! Whenever I order the employee is always nice and has a smile on their face. The food always comes fast once I sit down. I would recommend the Scotcheroos because they are have a nice crunch and a sweet taste. Overall if you are looking for a casual night out Z'Mariks will be the perfect place for you. read more

This place really doesn't have much variety but you can customize things...supposedly. No matter what, every time I make a change to a menu item they screw it up. This has led me to go hungry sometimes because of allergies or intolerances. I have always been refunded through the app customer service though. But it is frustrating that such a simple job cant be done correctly. That said, they are quick, and the food is always hot, a decent portion and fairly priced, so I keep taking my chances. went to order a to go order. it was quick and easy, I didn't wait long for my food. I can't remember if the staff wore masks or not. they did have tables blocked off for social distancing. the food was very hot and delicious when I got it home. Monday's is $4 mac and cheese day. I thought about changing things up to try it, but I'm a creature of sameness. I want what I know I like, udon. read more

I have been to Z'mariks a handful of times now, both for lunch and dinner. My verdict is always the same. Is the food good, sure. Is it great, no. Lunch time always seems to be very busy and then dinner is much slower. I find myself struggling to find something I really want when I go. Half the time, I fall back on the Mac n cheese. Sure they are quick and editable, just not my favorite. read more

This is probably the best place for a quick, reasonable, and tasty pasta bite in town. I just wish they had more locations! Their location is a bit out of the way, though if you are visiting one of the hospitals or many doctors offices in the area it's worth stopping by for sure. I also have been known to drive from the ingorsol area just to come here, but then again I love pasta. I've tried many of menu food items, but by far my favorite is their lemon sauté pasta. It comes with a generous portion of pasta, and the sauce is creamy and full of flavor. They even add some vegetables in the sauce which provide a nice texture change, although they don't add much to the flavor. If you want to lighten it up and boost the lemon flavor they always provide a piece of lemon on the side. My next favorite is their mostaccioli. It has a light non greasy sauce but it's full of flavor from the wine and veggies. Really though all their pastas, Mac and cheeses, etc are worth your time. There is something their for everyone. I will say though sometimes they sauce lightly so I would recommend getting extra. Their salads are also very good, fresh and tasty. The reasons for my 4 vs 5 review is location and sometimes the help. I've had very few bad experiences there, however the staff can get a big grumpy if you get their within an hour of them closing and they aren't enthusiastic. Also sometimes they neglect to bus their tables timely. read more

Don't sleep on this place if you like spicy noodles! I had originally ordered from noodles and company from DoorDash and after an hour of waiting it was delivered to the wrong address. So I ordered from Z'Mariks on a whim and got it really quickly! Their portions are really good. Enough where I ate till I was full and still had some leftover. The ingredients where fresh and the noodles I ordered where just what I wanted. I will for sure be coming back to try more from this place . read more

Had their Mac and Cheese with an order of salad. Their prices are pretty low. Around $6 for a large bowl. Place feels modern and very clean with good service. It's a fast food type noodle place so don't set your expectations too high. My mac and cheese was pretty good but could have definitely used more cheese or have been toasted up top or something along those lines to up it a notch. The salad was good but I didn't get nearly enough dressing for as big as the salad was. Overall, everything was descent but nothing special. I wouldn't mind coming here with my workers again because it's quick and convenient, but I wouldn't make the effort to come here myself. read more

Every time I come here the food is always spot on. They do such a great job at making sure they have constancy with the items they make. They really don't have appetizers. They have beer, milk, juice, tea, and Pepsi products. It's mostly a variety of noodles in different ways on the menu. The specialty is the Mac. They have Italian, Chinese, Thai, and some other varieties of noodle style food. They also do soup and they also have salads. Saturdays the kids eat free. You can do half and half. Like half soup and half salad. My favorite is the original Mac with shrimp and feta cheese. It's a little more pricey to add the shrimp and feta but worth it. Also, in the fall the beer cheese soup is to die for. I've had the Thai peanut noodles. They are pretty spicy. Also I've had the buffalo Mac. They mix the noodles with the carrots and the crunchy onions and. It gives it this amazing crunch in every bite. Also a little spicy. Get a slice of bread to slop up the wonderful sauce and your in heaven. It's great comfort food at a good price and good lunch or a nice simple dinner. read more

Note: if you have dietary restrictions please note that immediately when ordering to guarantee your food will be made to your specifications. Some things seem like they might be vegetarian or vegan but are not due to there being chicken stock or something mixed in. Now, with that in mind they do have a decent amount of veggie options available. I really like the udon bowl and also the veggie tuscana sans feta cheese add tofu. It has a nice amount of rosemary mixed in and is heavy on the garlic (my complete jam). It is so good!!! The tofu is really spot on all the time, too. Very nicely fried and never burnt. Before I went vegan I also would enjoy their mac and cheese from time to time at the IC location. Kids also eat free (with purchase of adult meal) on Saturdays which is great for when our little dude gets older and starts eating people food. Can't wait to enjoy that perk! For meat eaters: my dad says the meatballs are good. read more

I was always a huge fan of Z'Mariks. Went there for lunch today and got what I always get. Z'pesto. Awful!! Tasted like it had been sitting around for awhile and not one pine nut!! They also changed their bread. Not a good change. It was awful as well. So disappointed. I always loved eating there. read more

In town for business and found this on Yelp. A noodle cafe?? Right up my alley. I pre-decided on the lemon orzo dish and I wasn't disappointed. First of all the place was dead at lunch time and I don't understand it! Great pasta, cheap prices, friendly staff. I chose the regular and wish I would have picked the small because I couldn't stop eating it. Orzo pasta with a lemon sauce, zucchini pieces and spinach. If I have one complaint it's that I wish there were more of the veggies. They were few and far between. Overall quick yummy food. I wanted to go back but didn't make it over there. read more
