Thai iced tea and Vietnamese coffee
    Ritwika B.

Recently opened pho spot in Scarborough. Went here on a chilly winter night and the pho felt so comforting! We tried the beef pho (came loaded with meat) and the portion size was huge. Could easily be shared by two people. We went a little crazy and had also ordered the pad thai which was slightly different from how usual pad thais taste and IMO a little tomato-ey if that makes sense. The beef skewers with their house special sauce were delicious. Those were my favourite. The salt and peper chicken were good too but lacked a bit of seasoning. Went well with the sauce that came with it. Service was amazing. It seemed like a lot of guests knew the manager by name and had a warm relation with him which really tells you that this place is run with a homely feeling. I loved their iced tea. So good! The Vietnamese coffee was good too but it was a little too strong for me - coffee lovers would love this!

Location/Service This place is in the middlefield/steeles plaza with the shippers drug mart and supermarket. Plenty of parking spots available. Interior is pretty standard, but it doesn't have the crazy flower and tree decorations like the typical viet places. More homey feel. Staff were very nice, helped explained the menu and orders came on time. Food Got invited to try their menu and what's unique about this spot is that they use viet dishes and twist it a bit with some Chinese ingredients and cooking methods. Their house pho has Chinese herbs that really help boost immunity. They also have good apps like skewers and salt & pepper squid. I also like the shareable platters of house special vermicelli wrapper and a never seen dish of sliced pork and shrimp cake noodle. Prices are very reasonable too. A small pho is only $12.95! This is a pretty solid spot if you want viet food without breaking the bank. Support your local family owed business!

This small restaurant is a hidden gem. The Vietnamese appetizers were fresh, flavourful, and made with so much care from Owner Thomas. The Chicken Noodle Soup was the real standout: rich chicken broth and perfectly cooked oil noodles and Vermicelli that hit the spot on a cold day. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole place had a cozy, home-cooked vibe. Highly recommend stopping by if you want delicious, comforting Vietnamese food! Also, they have delicious grilled skewers that is currently being offered at a great deal of 3 Skewers for $7 !

I discovered that this Vietnamese Fusion restaurant is serving a hotpot set that allows you to refill the broth and noodles for FREE. The staff said that this set can serve two people but I feel like it would be enough for 4 people because the dish was massive. Their beef skewers were also flavorful and addicting! The drinks were so so - not too sweet.

My friend and I came here for dinner and got the beef bone pho hot pot, grilled beef shrimp vermicelli and beef lamb skewers. Everything tasted good and the food came out fast. The beef bone pho hot pot is great for sharing and also fun cooking ingredients table side. They also give free refills of noodles and soup for those that get the hotpot. Refills of meat and veggies will cost extra.

Brand new pho spot. The service was nice and friendly. Ambiance was simple but yet comfortable. I ordered the rare beef pho, the broth was nice, not too salty and the beef was nice and tender and not tough. The best part is after you eat the whole bowl of pho, you won't get thirsty! The curry brisket was very delicious. Nice and soft! I highly recommend the brisket. The HK lemon tea was nicely done. We will be back!

There was a line up and more people this time around too. This time I tried the bone marrow pho and also had the roasted brisket pho. The roasted brisket was awesome and easily the highlight of the meal for me. They were also running a promo with free drinks (iced lychee or peach tea), which was a nice bonus. Neither drink is really my thing personally, but hey, free is free. The only thing I didn't like was the removal of the fresh noodle option, but the dry noodle was fine. Service was generally decent as well. Overall, a much better experience this time around, and I'd recommend giving it a try.

And I can handle some msg but this was heavy handed. Our waiter kept forgetting the mango shake I wanted to like it but I don't think I'll be back due to the msg overload but if you're ok with that you should be fine The chicken wings had too much batter I thought but very crunchy The rolls were good and it was nice it came with a side salad

As soon as I walked into the doors, the aroma of the pho overtook my senses and my mouth was already salivating and my palate was excited. Everyone knows the rule of eating pho is eat the first spoon of broth alone. After I sipped my first spoon, I squeezed a bit of lime and dived in for more. The broth was perfectly seasoned and had a depth of flavor that was evident that the broth was made over several hours. Just a nice simply beef noodle soup that reminded me of my childhood eating pho at home. It's very rare to say pho at a restaurant is comparable to one made at home. When good food makes you reminisce of your younger years, I totally understand what "food is love." The interior design really takes you back in time with the old TV and radio equipment. I thought it was pretty cool. The service was adequate. Overall, one of the best pho I had in Toronto.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and service was quick and efficient throughout the meal. One thing I liked is that the pho only comes in one size, which is basically equivalent to a large bowl at most other spots. The broth was so good that I barely needed to add anything besides bean sprouts, basil, and a squeeze of lime. It was light, clean, and incredibly comforting. There was a generous amount of meat, especially beef tendon, and the portion overall was huge. It's rare for me to struggle to finish a bowl of pho, but this one had me tapping out near the end. Definitely understand why this spot is such a Scarborough favorite.

Staff were so nice and happy - always smiling at us whenever they brought anything to our table. The dishes here were great with some adjustments to their dishes, I think it could be a solid 5/5! Here goes: Viet coffee 4/5 - Love me an iced Viet coffee. Was a tad sweet imo, so think they could adjust their condensed milk portions for this. Overall was a great caffeine hit drink though. Banh Cuon 5/5 - Oh my goodness - must get! Chewy steamed rice rolls with a pork filling dipped into the fish sauce. Came with grilled meats which were to die for. Bun Cha Ha Noi 5/5 - Meats were very well seasoned in the broth like sauce. It's a dipping type noodle and was absolutely divine. Bun Bo Hue 4/5 - This was good but not too spicy. Lacked a bit of umami flavour and felt like it could have used a bit more depth. Pho Bo 4/5 - Standard beef pho that was comforting and delicious. Overall a pretty solid spot for Vietnamese food. We started our meal with some appetizers - Spring Rolls, and Shrimp Rolls. They were huge and delicious, a sign of things to come. The grilled pork was delicious, with a nice charred flavour. I had the Beef Rib Bones Pho that included three meaty rib bones, and a knuckle bone with rich marrow. This dish is so huge, it's served in two bowls! It was a little awkward to eat because the bones were so large. I ended up taking home half of it to enjoy later. Less than half of the tables were occupied and there were two staff members working. Their menu is quite extensive, and on the high average end for pricing. I got the banh da cua hai phong, which is Hai Phong-style noodles, including a variety of toppings like crab paste, shrimp, and pork betel leaves. My friend got the com rang dua bo, which is fried rice with stir-fried mustard greens and beef. The noodles were a bit oilier than I anticipated but taste overall was good. It's not something I'd choose over pho though. The fried rice by itself was very delicious - I'd get this by itself, but my friend said the combination of greens & beef with the fried rice was weird ("not balanced" he said). The portions are huge. I ate only 1/3 of the noodles and my friend ate 1/2. We had lots of leftovers. In total we spent $27pp each. The service was very good. They came around often to refill our tea and was pretty attentive. Overall if I come back, I'd try out their pho or the crab sticky rice (if we had a larger party) like people recommended!

I don't know if it was strategic on their part, but they have effectively undercut some of their biggest viet competitors by $3-4 on a lot of their items which to me makes this resto rank VERY HIGH in terms of value because of their also huge portions. Admittedly, the taste of their pho broth still doesn't beat Ngon Corner in Richmond Hill for me but they have some items that I can't find on a lot of resto menus. For example, the signature grilled meat platter is amazing. It says serves 2-4 ppl on the menu and I think that's pretty accurate. My friend and I shared one and we're big eaters so we shared it between the two of us and actually felt full! They also PACK the platter with ingredients and don't skimp on anything which is awesome. You love to see it. Also, I came with the gf and the curry is quite layered in terms of flavour. But for me, the most underrated item is the tomato beef brisket noodle soup. Damn, that tomato broth SLAPPED. Better broth than a lot of chinese soup noodle places I've been to and the brisket was also very tender. Even though Ngon Corner is still packing the most flavour in their pho broth, I found myself somehow gravitating to this place with more and more visits because of the sheer value and pricing (I've also told a lot of ppl that they're quite affordable compared to some of the other Viet stalwarts in Markham/RHill). Hopefully this continues and they don't get greedy and decide to increase the prices!

Maybe they were understaffed because I thought the service was quite poor, hence the two stars. They were friendly but very slow and kept forgetting stuff that we asked for. Anytime we needed something, we had to ask multiple times in order to get it.
