The food was amazing. Along with the service. Beautiful place very clean. We went there for lunch. And the staff was very friendly and took the time to explain what we ordered on the menu when we asked.

Overall: taste was there, wish there was a little more proportion for the price you're paying but not bad. Some authentic flavors and some fusion as this place is a mix of both. Food: it was seasoned well, didnt come out as hot as i thought it would be but the chicken and other beef was cooked well! Service: came on a Saturday night with a party of 3 and the place was pretty packed as a birthday was going on. This light explain why our food took a lil while to come out and wasn't piping hot.

This is one of those places where one can say it's a hidden gem. I usually go to New Jersey to have good Indian food and was surprised that an indian restaurant in Staten Island can compare to the ones in Jersey. This is the second time my girlfriend and I went to Basil thai and Indian Cuisine. As you walk in the interior is very cozy and they have plenty of seats. But towards the end of our meal it did start to get filled with people. Once seated we got to ordering and we got the lollipop chicken which was pretty good. So good in fact that I took the leftover chicken to my family to try. Which they loved and went to try it again on another day. I ordered the goat biryani and my gf ordered the vegetable pad thai. She found her meal to be pretty good. I found my goat biryani to be really good and probably better than any goat biryanis in Staten Island that I have tried. Overall I would highly recommend this place as a spot to try really good Indian food.

My new go to spot in Staten Island. This is a Thai and Indian fusion restaurant. Owners came from NJ where they had a restaurant in Montclair but decided to settle in Staten Island - exciting as there aren't many Thai or Indian options on the island. It's a small family business. I met them and was impressed by how nice they were. The food was delicious too. Prices are mid to high. Street parking was available, but not much, so better to park somewhere and walk over. They do takeout. The decor is very inviting and service is very good too. It's a place I would take my parents to. I saw someone get their order and was impressed with the chefs presentation of the food. If you are in Staten Island and want to try something new, I would recommend it.

Food authentic and delicious, ambiance cozy and comfortable, service is great! It's been our new go-to restaurant for over a year now.

If you're looking for authentic Thai and Indian food... I highly recommend this place. I recently dined at Basil Indian & Thai Cuisine they are located in 3972 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, New York. The reservation was easy to make, the staff were extremely helpful in accommodating and friendly. The ambiance was great, the food is fantastic and lived up to my expectations. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!

Placed an order for delivery and loved it. I ordered garlic naan bread, chicken tikka masala & and a mango lassi. Everything was delicious. Great portion sizes. Can't wait to actually visit and try their other items.

New awesome restaurant! Food was very tasty and fresh! Highly recommend!!! We ended up ordering a lot, and honestly loved absolutely everything. Appetizers: honey cauliflower and samosas were phenomenal! Main: tandoori chicken - tasty, juicy, fresh; pad Thai - huge portion ( ordered with shrimp, which were grilled maybe, cause it was very tasty); stir fried veggies, added shrimp and asked for extra basil - healthy and very flavorful; lamb butter masala - I ordered spicy, and it really was spicy, but very tasty with garlic naan and roti - which was served super fresh, hot and delicious; and finally - mango lassi - ended up ordering 3 times! Also to note that the prices are very reasonable, I would even say cheaper than most of restaurants in Staten Island. Can't wait to go back again.

    Goat Biryani.

Went out for dinner w/ friends @ Basil on Hylan & had a great time. Delicious food, friendly and fast service. I ordered garlic nan & veggie samosas to share, and a mango lassi & goat biryani for myself. Every food item served to our table was cooked very well & were all delicious. I especially like their attention to detail. The server asked each of us in our dinner party what level of spiciness we preferred our meals to be prepared. I requested mine to be mild and my entree was cooked exactly how i wanted it to be. It's a small restaurant but their warm & cozy ambiance made me feel right at home. Our party stayed a while just talking & catching up, but we were never rushed out. Overall a wonderful experience.

Finished with the small seafood broil (definitely shareable ) with shrimp mussels Dungeness crab noodles broccoli and an egg in the wild crab sauce--- didn't disappoint. Interior design is so aesthetically pretty and provides a wonderful and elegant dining experience!…read moreThe service provided by Behrouz was attentive, friendly, and warm, which definitely helped enhance the dining experience! Now onto the main topic, the food: This is by far one of the better middle eastern/seafood restaurant in all of Staten Island! The appetizers that were amazing were the chargrilled octopus, which is a MUST-GET, and the half dozen oysters which was by far one of the sweetest oysters we ever had (it was so good we ordered 3 orders!) The tuna tartare, calamari, and lobster bisque were all decent but nothing too special. For entree, the lobster pasta was perhaps one of the best tomato based pasta I ever had! Although the amount of lobster in the dish was on the smaller amount for its price, the flavor was so savory, sweet, and perfectly tangy, highly recommend it! The sea bass was good according to my family, but the flavor was on the milder side in my opinion; they liked it nonetheless so perhaps it's just a personal preference at this point. The lamb shank I would not get due to how overpowering it was; the sauce was salty and intense, where it overwhelmed every part of the dish. It was unfortunate because the lamb was so tender and had a nice proportion between its meatiness and its fat content. The dry aged steak was only okay too, since the spinach was so watery it soaked the steak in its liquid (as you can see from the photo), which detracted from the dish unfortunately. Overall it was a decent dining experience, where some were amazing and others were less so. It's a pricey dining experience but if you get all the right dishes, it's worth the price tag! Definitely recommend giving Sea Bar a try and I can't wait to come back again one day to give them the five stars I know they can definitely accomplish! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

There has been a surge of Mediterranean restaurants opening in Staten Island and there is a lot of competition. There's a small parking lot in the rear so that helps since New Dorp is tight. Service was excellent. Clean restroom. Glad to see a large crowd dining on a Friday evening.
