Here's an item I wanna give a shout out to - For Xmas, I received the PHAT gift of a 1337 gaming keyboard - the Saitek Cyborg 7.0 (http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/v7keyboard.htm). Actually, I was going to buy it myself, but sibs asked me what I wanted for the big day, and I had no other idea 'cept for this. I am soooo happy they got it for me! Now for ze details. The keys are really smooth, and some of them are chromed out. They look grey on the website, but it's actually chrome vinyl. There's an extra 6 buttons on each side you can use to add extra game playing power - namely hot-syncing them to extra macros to enhance your gaming experience. You can route your mic and speakers through the board because it comes with extra ports just for that (since the board itself takes up 2 USB slots just by itself, they give you an extra one to make up for the loss). You can adjust the volume on this sucker, and the key layout is exactly how I like it (I'm really anal about keyboard layout). But the coolest feature has got to be the backlighting. You can change the colour up to 10 different shades! And you can adjust the brightness of the backlighting too to suit your eyeballs' needs. All in all, I heart my new board. Second: smartphones have ruined photography, and it's getting increasingly more difficult to find gear, accessories, peripherals... but San Jose Camera has always had what I've looked for (except my fav Canon lens, no longer manufactured). The people here are consummate professionals, exceptionally well-versed and experienced photographers. They know their stuff: I've had questions about Canon, Minolta, Nikon, and Hasselblad cameras and they knew the answer without looking it up. (Price of gear is the only exception.) Sort of an old-school type, I still dabble in film photography, especially in astrophotography, and they've had excellent recommendations for what I'm looking for in film, even discussed some ideas I hadn't considered. I used to spend a few hours a week here... purchased a number of lenses here and taken a number of classes. My highest recommendation for these classes: I learned so much in these... as good as any you'll find professionally.
