Love a great AZ location. So why did I only give 3 stars. Check your receipts! We went in for their famous Croissant donuts and the sign on the donut door said .75 cents. It was Saturday afternoon. They were rung up at full price .99. Yes I'm knocking 2 stars off. I should not have to do your job.

First time here and it's a nice clean Arizona based grocery chain that features many items and has a Starbucks inside this location. The bakery had some tasty treats and florals were nice. Reasonably priced and have many great weekly specials to check out.

Not in a convenient location for me, but there is no denying that this is a beautiful, well-stocked store. I can't comment on the prices relative to other chains -- I don't have enough experience. What brings me here is the meat department. Bashas' is virtually the ONLY supermarket chain that labels its hamburger by cut -- ground round, ground chuck, ground sirloin. But that's not all! Most recently I came here for the advertised porterhouse steaks. What's a porterhouse? Don't know, do ya! That's 'cause no one sells them! But there it is, in the Wednesday advertisements, an offer I can't refuse, and off I go making a special trip, just for this steak. So -- what's a porterhouse? The porterhouse is a composite steak that's derived from the point where the tenderloin and top loin meet. They look like T-bones. But Porterhouse steaks are cut from the rear end of the short loin and thus include more tenderloin steak, along with (on the other side of the bone) a large strip steak. T-bone steaks are cut closer to the front, and contain a smaller section of tenderloin. Whatever. I sous-vide those puppies for two hours and then seared them on a 900° charcoal flame. Freak'n delicious. The point of this little butcher lesson is that you can get cuts of meat here at Bashas' that no other generic grocery store bothers to provide, and often at a price point that's reasonable, affordable, or frankly, on occasion, for a ridiculous sale price. And that's why, even though it isn't convenient, I sometimes shop at Bashas'. Oh, and free fruit for your kids, exclusively in the produce department.

In relationship to COVID-19 the store today at 6am had a large line waiting for the toilet paper/paper towel isle. The store was spotless and the manager/staff were making sure that folks adhered to the 2&2 rule for the aforementioned items. One employee actually removed excess from a customer so there would be enough for those in the store and that deserves applause! Kudos Bashas!

The deli has really great fresh made to order sandwiches. The staff is always very friendly and super helpful. The options are endless as to what you can order that is hot and ready as well as refreshing options too.

There are customers line up at the self check-out, yet not a normal check out open. I ask a worker who is chatting with another worker if they are going to open a check-out, she looks at me as if I'm bothering her and says nope then goes back to chatting. Again, WTF? I've got a cart full and already put in my 8 hours for the day. Now they want me to do their job as well. Self checkouts weren't made for that. Originally they were made for the guy who has 2 items and didn't want to wait in the normal checkout. He could get out quickly. Now after 7 they want everyone to use them. Maybe if I got a discount, I would be more willing to self checkout but I'm paying full price. Like I said, I already put in 8 hours at my job, my job is hard physical work. I don't feel like doing their job too. What do you think? Are you ok working for Fry's for free after you worked all day? No other place makes you work when you go there, no restaurant makes you cook your own food, no doctors office make you do your own physical, no bar makes you pour your own beer or make your own drink. What does Fry's think they can make you work for free. I hope someone from corporate reads this and does what's right go back to the way they did it for years and years. Or I'll be driving a little farther to get the customer service that Fry's lacks. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Huge selection, everything looked fresh, and it actually felt like a real market instead of just rows of the same old stuff. I spent more time over there than I expected. The associates were another pleasant surprise. Every person I talked to was friendly and genuinely helpful. You don't always see that anymore, so it stood out. What really caught me off guard was the bulk section. I've never seen anything like it in a regular grocery store. Nuts, grains, snacks, all kinds of things you can scoop yourself. Pretty neat idea. And the vitamin section? Honestly the biggest vitamin and supplement selection I've seen anywhere outside of an actual vitamin store. All in all, a really solid first experience. Clean store, great selection, and good people working there. I'll definitely be coming back.

Albertsons corporate offices clearly have not spent much time in the stores judging by the decisions they make. For example. Today I did some light shopping but big enough to need a cart. When I go to check out there is only one cashier lane open (as usual, even though they need more) and the line was full of several people with large quantities in their cart. So I go to the self check even though it pains me knowing self check just means one more person without employment. Anyway they now have these massive bins holding sale items smack in the middle of the tiny self check square. Total nightmare! If you have a cart you are unable to pass to exit since other people are at a kiosk checking out and there's zero room between them and the sale bins. It is one big traffic jam and the poor employees are forced to move people around while they're trying to check out just to keep the line moving. There was so little space that I am fairly confident this is not ADA compliant. I truly think Albertsons corporate believes that only people with small items and no cart go to self check. If you only employ one cashier however, this is not the case. Especially on a busy weekend. I will never understand forcing your customers to be employees and not paying or even trusting them but that's a whole other topic. Every customer and every employee was frustrated and complaining about these stupid sale bins. It does not take a genius to know this was a bad idea. Remove the bins!
