Can't say, I stopped by this Basha's that often, but usually drive the further distance to the competitors. Was driving right past it so decided to stop in as I needed a couple of quick things. One was a head of cauliflower. I nearly fainted when I paid for my groceries. One head of cauliflower was $6.57!! $2.64 a pound. I decided to pull out my app after I got home and look up the pricing at the other two competing grocery stores. F's is $3.55 and S's is $4.47 with a dollar coupon off. This is absolutely ridiculous! How on earth can they charge that much more???!!!! I'll make sure I don't stop next time and just keep driving onto the competitors. I feel bad because this is a retirement community and there are people on limited incomes that can't drive to the further places. SMH ‍ shame on you Bashas!!! Also turned the bakery into a self-serve area and if you need anything special, you're going to stand there and wait a while because no one will pay attention to you. Done! read more

Never again- when I get off a 12hr shift I don't want to bag groceries. It's not like you're the least expensive store in the neighborhood. The only lines open after 5pm were self serve. There were 3 customers looking for a cashier. One was ask if there were any cashiers open he replied "not my job", asked another employee he said "I'm on break". This grocery obviously doesn't need money or customers. Left the shopping basket of groceries and drove 6 mins down the road to Fry's. There are way too many grocery store options in Chandler to choose from. This store will know longer be an option for me. read more

The store is very close to Sun Lakes 55+ community so evidently they feel the need to rip you off. Organic Oregano at Traders Joe's - $1.99 Organic Oregano Basha's - $9.00 for the same size container. You should be ashamed of yourselves your prices are even higher than Fry's by $2.00 on a can of tomato's. The deli counter staff is awesome very caring and they get to know you as they take your order. Very friendly which keeps me coming here for lunch in the past week. I'm not sure of her name (no name tag) she is always smiling friendly and keeps the other staff in order. Nice and food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Very tasty. Clean and they follow CDC Guidelines. I'll be back 5/5 for the friendly deli staff, 5/5 for food quality. I recommend this location! read more

Positively one of the worst shopping experiences we have ever encountered and we are in are 70's. My wife tried to buy some chicken from the deli twice and she was completely ignored. there were 3 women behind the counter doing nothing but talking to each other and they looked at us and just kept on talking. The female checker simply rang up our groceries and never even said hello. We will not return to this miserably unfriendly store. Seems like the women have a problem with customer, the men are very friendly. We will not be back, just down the street a little farther they actually appreciate their customers. read more

If using the Bakery for a special order cake keep your expectations low. I traditionally love the flavor of Basha cakes however I was so incredibly disappointed in the cake I had ordered. I asked for it be to maroon and gold writing with balloons -- simple right? Sadly it was brown and yellow and no balloons. Not sure why the baker took liberty to change what I asked for without talking with and especially as this is such a simple request. Also, the penmanship stating Happy Birthday was less than desirable as well. I wish I could say this is the first time the decorators have let me down at Bashas but this is now my third attempt at a custom cake and not a single one has been to my specifications -- even when I have brought in pictures of what I need. read more

I love this Basha's. The staff are all friendly and personable, and remember you by name. Sometimes the lines are kinda slow but you know what? Come to think of it, they are much faster than they used to be. I love their donuts in the morning! Fresh and warm! I also love shopping in their pharmacy area..they have lots of fun health and beauty products that you can't find anywhere else. There prices aren't too bad, they have good sales and its convenient to shop there. Manager Scott(?) aka mohawk guy is super nice and helpful. Love this store. read more

This place should be closed. What a rip off of everyone who lives in this area at Riggs/Alma. Milk is $2 more than anyplace else, little tubs of "nutter-butter' cookies selling for 10/$10 at Fry's, is 1.49 per tub here. They know they have all these older ppl in a bind so they HAVE to pay these prices because they usually don't have but a golf cart, walk, or a friend to take them to the store and it's the ONLY one in the area. They should be ASHAMED, some of these ppl only get $800 a month to live on....tsk, tsk, tsk! read more

Miserable little store (located at Riggs & Alma School). Sadly it's the closest. Most of the other Bashas have been updated - not this little miserable store. 100 years from now it will still be a miserable little store. I have been shopping at Bashas a very long time and prefer the privately owned store/company. All personnel are nice and pleasant. I love having carry-out service that enables me to buy a larger supply of items. Their pricing is comparable to any other store, perhaps much better and more reasonable. I live in the town of Maricopa, just about 20 minutes from this store. When I get off work I pass by this store almost everyday, and don't want to go anywhere after I get home. I stopped by this Bashas recently to get a few things for dinner. This is a smaller store, that is very clean, & Serves the elderly community of Sun Lakes. It has a Sushi Counter, YUMMY! The deli looks nice & fresh, and the Bakery is to die for. The donuts are fresh, and VERY tasty. The buttermilk bars are my favorite. They have a good sized Liquor Department, for the size of the store itself. I also LOVE the choices in the meat department, sometimes what I want is not there but have to ask meat employee they usually get what I want, or recommend an acceptable substitute. The meat department also has HUGE variety boxes of meat for $19.99. It has 2 kinds, you can pick from the fajita meat box, or a box with 4 meats. The 2nd box contains usually ground beef, chicken quarters, pork chops, and sometimes other selections. The organic produce selections are top notch. They do not have self checkout machines, but they are not afraid to open a new register if the lines get backed up. I usually do not wait very long in line, and if I have a few items they usually let customers checkout at the service desk even with produce. I noticed all the negative reviews about this store, and wanted to share my experiences. The employees are very nice, and helpful. I have on several times noticed a front end manager several times that is excellent in customer service. I think his name is Scott, but I am not sure. He is a nice young man, he has a Mohawk haircut. Yes, looks can be deceiving, but he is a nice & friendly guy. He is always engaging with the customers, and makes sure you leave with a smile. He and other managers are not afraid to get on a cash register themselves when business dictates it. This store has a newer loyal customer, and I wanted to share my feelings. My only suggestion is this store needs covered parking like the store in Maricopa, that would be a godsend especially during the HOT summers for their elderly shoppers. I would have given this store 5 stars if they had covered parking, but 4 out of 5 is still excellent! read more

Went there for the first time ever last night. Very poor selection and employees were yelling at each other and discussing internal politics in front of customers. A customer walked up to the checkout person, that person yelled over to customer service to get them to help and the customer service person yelled back that they were "on break" in front of many customers. Need employee training or let them find a new career. read more

Stopped by to pick up some stuff for a pool party. Grabbed some beer, homemade tortilla chips and salsa. Omg! So Good! The tortilla chips were some of the best I've ever had. If I'm ever in town again and need to pick up some food or drinks, I'll definitely go back to this place read more

Basha's Riggs/Alma School rd, Quite small, getting old but well-stocked and aisles are pretty much uncluttered. Great bakery selection, cashier was not real friendly but efficient, Deli has a nice selection cashiers are very friendly. Employees greet you and offer help without being overwhelming, Produce is well-stocked, fresh easy to get around in - employees seem to be proud of their store and interested in serving customers and maintaining their area. Coffee bar is a bit old could use an upgrade. Night cashier, name starts with "A" I believe is efficient and friendly. Managers and employees smile. Don't dish the "old" customers, they may have been your drill sergeant, First Sergeant or teacher. No sales tax as it is in the county. read more

The smallest worst grocery store I have EVER been in with the worst, unfriendliest staff who would never make anything right after a legitimate complaint. Soggy pizza - wet through paper under the pizza and right through the box, soggy box. As for the rest of the store, it is so puny that it carries just a few basics and the cheapest of canned products, not pure ingredients but other than a top brand, their other brands add sugar, corn syrup, altering what should be a pure product. Even their breads have added garbage and junk ingredients. Compare them to another store with the same bread product and it is light night and day. A choice of something is nearly impossible because of the size of the store. I rarely go here anymore. There is one manager who looks unhappy and ready to beat up somebody. If I return meat - they do put stuff into those packages that are not supposed to be there, like chunks of - I don't know what it is but it is not what is labeled on the package - concealed under the label - they do not care. All they want is your money and they make a point to rip off customers. Husband used to buy stuff and they have been deceitful about a meat package more than once. Without further ado, I dislike this place very much and rarely go there. Possibly twice a year now, only because it is the closest place and only if they advertise something I think would make it worth going for that item only or possibly that and another couple of items. I cannot possibly see spending any more than $15 to $25 at any given time (going or something on sale), while we regularly spend around $300 elsewhere, on a regular basis. read more

Not my usual Bashas but I find myself here often as I run errands and often stop in because its near work. Just okay not great inside but does has large bakery dept and places to sit down if you need to -back table area by the bathrooms which leads me to this: the only thing I dislike about this one is not the really the store itself its bathrooms. Dirty broken doors, often no soap or paper that is replaced. Go before you have to go. Also notice that they seem to be short on help lately (baggers). But thats not entirely their fault as certain types of people keep coming in and five finger discounting. Yeah. read more
