I arrived in Copenhagen early in the morning and since I had about five hours to kill before I could check into my hotel, decided to do some sightseeing. Luckily it was a sunny day. After finding Nyhavn from the metro station, it seemed other people noticed it was sunny too, so I had to find somewhere else to sit.
This little place is just a couple of streets behind Nyhavn and much quieter. I even got a seat outside. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. Sadly, there was not an English menu, so I ordered a croissant and a hot chocolate (Hot Shokolade, easy to work out). That's not a criticism, after all, how many places in the UK have menus in Danish, but I may have had more to eat had I known what was on the menu.
The hot chocolate was very nice as was the croissant and provided the perfect amount of sugar to give me the energy to continue my sightseeing.
The bill came to 55 kroner, which I thought was reasonable. I would consider visiting again, but maybe with a bigger phrasebook (my city guide only had a small number of phrases in the back). read more
