The solution consisted of a perimeter drain and two sets of sump pumps, one battery operated for back-up, at opposite corners of the basement. The installation personnel were very professional and worked extremely hard. The system was installed in 3 days as promised. Recently we had a significant storm which dumped 6-9" of water in less than 3 hours. The basement was completely dry after the storm. Lon and the customer service rep Nicole answered all of our questions in a timely manner and contacted us after the job was complete in the event we had any further questions. If you have a basement water issue I would recommend them.

Lux Foundation Solutions recommended one thing: replace the basement door. That's it. (And they don't even do doors!) What impressed me most was that Chuck Koach, Lux's Foundation Specialist, assessed things the others didn't. He checked the walls using a moisture meter, thoroughly examined existing interior drain and sump pump systems, inspected crawl spaces for water issues, and checked inside and out for foundation concerns. They did not seal my crawl space, they did not reinforce a sag in my flooring structure, they placed a sump pump drain line outside the area that I requested, they left food and clothing items in my crawl space after they were done. They bullied me. The work is sloppy. And then I allowed them to come in again to sweet talk a workaround that wasn't done correctly either. Now, I will also admit that I am a Veteran and a Nurse and that my pride may cost me and prevent me from obtaining an attorney. Although after writing this, I still may. They came out for an estimate, with us fully expecting to pay them five to ten grand for an internal drainage system. But they told us our real problem was grading and landscaping, and wouldn't take our money. We're getting those problems fixed now, and are thankful that Smith's didn't sell us something we didn't need. So while they didn't do any work for us, we can vouch for their honesty and integrity.

System has lifetime warranty, but the company who installed it many years ago suggested I have a plumber and a foundation specialist check it out before they come. If not there their issue under the warranty, there's a hefty charge. I contacted Randall, the owner of Basement Masters, who came out promptly, looked at old system, discussed concerns with warranty coverage I might encounter, and found no foundation cracks.
