I wanted to get my boyfriend some MTG cards for his birthday, so I headed to this local game shop because a family friend and his wife owned the place. I figured if anywhere would be welcoming and helpful--especially to someone new--it would be there. I was wrong. I walked in and stood there for several minutes while the staff ignored me completely. They weren't busy with other customers; they were just chatting with their friends. Eventually, an employee came over and passed me off to Nick. I explained I was new and needed some help, but from the get, he was unfriendly and dismissive. I tried asking questions, but he barely answered, acted annoyed by my lack of knowledge, and gave me these disdainful looks like I was wasting his time. It got worse. He finally said, "You should probably leave and come back with someone who actually knows what they're talking about." My jaw dropped. I asked if he was seriously telling me to go. He backpedaled a bit--"You don't have to, but it'd be better if you did, since you really don't know anything"--So I left, feeling humiliated and frustrated. Thankfully, I went to Sevens Goods and The Paladin's Rest instead, and it was the complete opposite-- staff was genuinely kind and patient and not for one second did he make me feel stupid. We've been going back ever since for buying, trading, whatever. My boyfriend says the prices are fairer there too, and the whole vibe is just so much more welcoming. In the end, it worked out--thanks to Nick, I found a better spot. But I still feel bad for the owners. I can't imagine Rudy would be happy knowing how the staff treat people like that. Its pretty sad. To responder: Im not sure who replied since Rudy passed. My dad passed last year and really respected Rudy. The incident happened in January. Your staff is certainly capable. It took me a long time to decide to post, but was talking with someone who had a similar experience and decided that I needed to. I don't like to say negative things about small businesses, but this was something I've never experienced. There is a thing happening with staff thumbing their nose at people. I wasn't rude. I was respectful and asked for help. Its nuts that I would be told to come back with someone who knew what they were talking about. The very reason I came to the store was to talk to an expert, not to be treated like they didn't want to waste their time on me. Even after, I just simply left. I didn't even know what to say. It just sucked because I didn't expect it and customers certainly don't deserve it. read more

I've spent a lot of time and money in this store because so far it's been very friendly but now I don't think I want to come back to this store or recommend it anymore to my friends. Destined Rivals was just released here on Monday and they limited their stock to one or the other per person. That I can understand and was okay with. What I am not okay with is that the manager lady (owner?) started to call and pull people out of line BY THEIR NAME, and said "I have your stuff right here" and they were given bags of product. Then told the people behind them "sorry we're sold out". Being strict with the rules with everyone but when your "friends" or whatever come in and breaking them for them is not acceptable and not good integrity. I lost respect for this store and will be searching for another card shop to spend my money at. read more

Amazing staff and tournament play, they have a large variety of of any trading card games to (yugioh,Pokemon,magic the gathering, one piece and much more!). They also host a lot of tournaments for different games here with great prizing! I would recommend anyone to visit and participate in their events/tournaments. Each game has great judges that will help out for any scenario or questions when it comes towards any game. Not to mention they have an amazing point system when you purchase product, I have saved a lot of money when it came towards their point system would highly recommend supporting this card shop because they do an amazing job in keeping product for people when sets release. Also they have a wide variety in snacks and drinks for a cheap price. This is without a doubt the best card shop I have ever been to that supports their customers, games and product in California. Worse than scalpers. Called day before a new release, was told boxes would be normal price. Went and wait 2+ hours for them to open for the to charge $40 more than what they said on the phone. I'd choose another shop or keep trying places that won't try and rob you. Originally wanted to praise this shop because my last time buying with them all their prices were fair but all of a sudden because they're new sets they wanna scalp and take advantage of people. After calling out their scalpers prices they just laughed at us. Shame on businesses that do this. Part of the reason this community is so hard to enjoy anymore. read more

Saw this place while working in the area. Upon walking in, I was casually greeted by a friendly fellow, with perfect atmosphere for browsing the MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokémon cards inside, WHICH- awwwwesome selection and variety of cards. Pleasantly surprised at finding more than a few gems and feeling happy while walking out a hundred bucks lighter in the wallet. Perfect service, perfect TCG layout, perfect experience. Very great shop this is my second time here, the workers there are always attentive when you walk in with a greeting. They have a nice variety of things from Pokemon, One Piece, and even sports. I went in just to browse and I ended up leaving with some Pokemon etb and will be back for some Lakers cards they have. I called asking if they had a specific type of card and was told to callback because they had a customer in the store. I understand you may be short staffed and the customer in front of you will be served first. However there is a different way to approach this. I'm not sure if it's because they are one of few cards shops in the HD that feel they can treat customers in this matter but I would rather drive down the hill and get better customer service than deal with rude people nearby. read more

Chilling reign etb was 50 here 40 other spots also dragon ball booster 90$ others sell it 80$ other then that decent selection and nice staff but come on! I visited this store today with hesitation. I have been here before, but it was about 10 years ago. The owner of the store, at the time (maybe the same now?), was not very accommodating. At the time, my husband and I had just moved to the area from LA and had been used to buying cases, at discount, from a few other stores. The owner at this store refused any discounts or any offers. So we never came back. Today, I am back in the area after moving back to LA, 7 years ago, and needed some penny sleeves. I decided to give the store another try since I really needed the sleeves today and Amazon does not deliver fast in this area. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the store seemed more open and inviting. They had another space for in house games, unfortunately no card breaking (!!), and a nice young man was handling the store (Steven?). We talked for a while about cards, online breaking and possible in person card breaking. I picked up the penny sleeves that I wanted. They are Ultra Pro, so the pricing, $16 for 10 pks, was a decent price. I am waiting for Amazon to deliver my BCW sleeves, $11 for 10 pks. I enjoyed the conversation and I will go back again. Maybe I would be interested in playing a Magic game!! If they ever do in house sports card breaks, run properly, I will change my rating to 5 stars!! read more

Unfortunately unless you are a regular or one of the top players here, you will be treated unfairly. On several occasions i have came into this store and was ignored, treated very rudely and I witnessed them selling cards after they told me they wouldn't be selling them. From now on i will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've never collected anything other than pogs in my childhood. Now, as a Mom of a 7 year old into Pokemon and Beyblades I often find myself confused by his questions. The employees at Baseball and Games were happy to walk us through the rules. My son even felt confident enough to play a tournament against adults. (Who were also very patient and fair with him). We have since been back for a few pre releases and, of course Beyblade tournaments! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, especially for someone like me who doesn't always understand what I need and why. I am confident that when my son is into Magic or DND, they will help him through that as well. Maybe I'll play with him! Would and will recommend this place. read more

Super dope place always buy all my dragon ball and yugioh stuff here. They had really fun tournaments before covid hit so I can't wait for them to return hopefully soon.
