My wife had sudden back pain, and I spent the whole morning scrambling to find a good massage place. There were a lot of options, but I'm really glad I chose this one. The prices are reasonable, and booking was quick and easy, just a $25 deposit, which I didn't mind. When we arrived, she was taken in within 5 minutes and received the full 50-minute session as promised, she even went over the allocated time for the towel and aroma therapy. Very ethical, gives me the vibethey are not trying to rip you off. She says her back feels much better afterward, which is what mattered most. The location is convenient as well. The only downside is that the facility is pretty small, and the rooms are just big enough for the therapist and client, so you'll need to wait in the lobby. Not a huge issue, though. I made an appointment for 11, Alexis was my therapist and she was right on time! I booked 120 minute massage deep tissue and before the massage began Alexis told me how her pressure would be and if I wanted it more or less to let her know. The massage was relaxing. She focused on a lot of areas that I have problems with. I thoroughly enjoyed the massage after it was over. Alexis went over recommendations that she had for problem areas that she noticed, which was very helpful and informative. My second time at the spa. The cancellation process is very specific so follow the directions if you need to cancel as they will not give you any grace. With that said I've gone to Shondlyn during pass sessions and Ty''Ara was my therapist today. She was great, was friendly and personable. I've been to the Charlotte location before. But this is my first time at their Huntersville location and Taryn was amazing! She asked good questions about why I was coming in and what parts of my body I wanted addressed the most. She also asked me good questions about how I spend most of my day. I could tell she paid excellent attention to everything I said Because she spent the perfect amount of time on each spot that I wanted her to. It was literally like she was in my head! Had a wonderful massage with Kuya today! so relaxing and def worked out some of my kinks. She did a good deep tissue but also very relaxing.

Paid the additional fee for a deep tissue massage, but they started out doing a Swedish massage for the first 30 minutes (out of 60 minutes). He didn't do any deep tissue work until I said something. He also said he doesn't massage the glutes, but I work on my feet 40 hours/week and really needed work on my glutes to relieve the pain in my lower back, hips, and knees. There was no disclaimer on their site that they don't massage specific body parts. I understand that it might be uncomfortable for some people, but then put a disclaimer - especially when you're a masseuse. For the service I received, this massage didn't relieve the pain or stress that I paid for it to relieve. Will not be returning. read more

I really enjoy Bambu Organic Massage. Its located in a plaza next to Publix so you can get a good sandwich after a good massage lol. When you walk in it's such a calm environment, you're greeted warmly and offered water to cool you down from the Sauna of a summer lol. Check-in was smooth and my masseuse was ready to go! I think I've found my massage spot with Bambu. For my birthday, I decided to treat myself to a hot stone massage. I found them on Yelp and scheduled my appointment via their online system. Bambu is located in the Publix shopping center right off Prosperity Church Rd. It shares the parking with the lot so there's plenty of spaces. I arrived about fiveish minutes before my appointment and check-in was a breeze. However, I did have to wait about ten minutes past my appointment due to some scheduling conflicts on their end and they did acknowledge it. Once my massage therapist, Teneisha, was ready, I was brought back to the room. The room had dim lighting, scented diffuser and spa music playing - all of the key ingredients to allow for pure relaxation! Once she began, I immediately regretted booking only a 50-minute massage. I should've gone for the 80-minutes, which I will do on my next visit! I was completely relaxed within minutes and she was able to work out all of the tension that I store in my upper back. With it being conveniently located near me, I will be back to try the other services. read more

Bambu has been alright for us over the last few years, hence the 3 stars. This last time I went I booked an 80 Minute massage. I was only given a 50 minute massage. . Once you have told me the massage is over and I tell you I booked an 80 minute not a 50 minute, the relaxing part has already been interrupted. That wasn't the only issue I experienced. All I got was a "sorry". No one tried to rectify the situation. So, I'm not sure if we will be back. read more

My fiancé scheduled my peel and massage for my birthday. The intake process was quick and simple and the receptionist was friendly and personable. My esthetician was friendly and knowledgeable and explained the process and her recommendations for my skin. It was my first time receiving a peel (I've had numerous facials in the past) so she walked me through the process. The beds are heated and comfortable. The entire facial was relaxing and the products are all organic. Next I had Carolyn for my massage. I was given water and relocated to the massage room. Carolyn was sweet and very into astrology which I loved! Her massage, and the studio's signature bamboo massage, was FANTASTIC. I immediately scheduled another one for three weeks. I've been coming to Bambu for about a 1 year and half now. Brianna is my masseuse. Walking into this place is like stepping into tranquility The scent of essential oils is always in the air and the receptionist is ready to greet you. I love how Brianna starts off by asking what are my problem areas, so she can focus on during the massage. Afterwards always provides feedback on my tension areas and how I can do things to help with tight muscles and knots. It's a customize massage every visit, which I love. She provides suggestion to help manage stress and tension in between visits. I've also notice other massage therapist do the same for other clients as they're leaving. I highly recommend this place. I have recently moved to Charlotte and was looking to try a new place, since my regular massage therapist is in Winston Salem. I wish I could give this place a higher rating, especially for their reasonable prices. However, I did not particularly enjoy my massage. My massage therapist did ask briefly if there were any areas to focus on, but I didn't feel that it was focused on. I've been going to Bambu for a couple of months now and have been meaning to leave a review. Simply put, they're amazing! I'd never gotten a massage before going (I know, I know...I've been missing out) but I've been a regular ever since. So I can't compare it to places like Massage Envy but I can base if off of my own experience. I made my first appointment over the phone with Matt. He was very helpful in recommending which service was best for a first-timer and explained the differences between Swedish and deep tissue. I never felt pressured into any sales pitches or to make an appointment. Bambu is a small, cozy space. When you first walk in, the ambiance is calm and the aesthetics are pleasing. It smells wonderful; not overpowering or anything. Soothing music plays almost imperceptibly in the background. Every single person is genuinely friendly. It's like the Trader Joe's of spas. I didn't pick any particular masseuse, although I believe you can on their website. I was scheduled to meet with Shondolyn. During our first session, she was incredibly nice, thoroughly explaining the process and what the session entailed. And then the magic happened: I melted into the table. I'd never felt so relaxed in my life...Shondolyn is legit! She focused on my problem areas (neck and shoulders, or as she calls it, "text neck"). For lack of a better way to explain it, I could literally feel the kinks being popped in my muscles, kind of like little balloons being popped maybe? She also stretched muscles I didn't think could possibly be stretched. And the only person who gives as good (possibly better) a foot massage is the little Vietnamese lady at the nail salon where I get pedicures. I knew then this was going to become a problem for my bank account. I was right; I was hooked. Fast-forward several sessions later. I've only seen Shondolyn for all my appointments but I'm sure the others are just as good. I'm almost sad my little muscle balloons have been mostly popped even though I still text and use my phone the same way (you know what I'm talking about; we all do it and have "text neck"). I've only booked her for one hour. I'm afraid to book a two-hour session because I'll get spoiled and never be able to go back to just one hour without feeling like it's too short. I'm not even going to set myself up for that kind of heartbreak lol. Maybe I'll treat myself on my birthday next year. In the meantime, I've now budgeted this into my self-care routine because it's just as important as getting my nails done. My back and neck aches are virtually gone. I pretty much go just for maintenance now and because it's the best hour to clear my mind and detach and relax. I'm a chronically late person everywhere I go but I damn sure show up early for my Bambu appointments. Couple of things: again, I've never been to Massage Envy. Before looking into Bambu, I considered ME but wasn't crazy about the idea of signing up for a monthly membership. At least, I didn't see anything about a la carte sessions so maybe I missed something or I'm wrong. And while it's convenient to be able to go to any location nationwide, I like the personal factor of a local, non-franchised place like Bambu. Their prices are reasonable and they offer all the same services as ME (massages, facials, aromatherapy, and so on). Bambu's bathroom is immaculate (bonus points for offering hand towels in place of paper towels; we stan an environmentally friendly business!) Maybe someday I'll try other spas but for now, I'm completely happy with Bambu! read more
