Amazing service and cockatiel knowledge ! Bartender Corey Harvey went far and above the call of duty ! We were impressed with the help after his shift as Corey helped us pack our SUV with excess product . Also the cocktails were amazing " Corey Special " read more

Big thank you to the Barworks team! We worked with Mark to set up our package for wedding day beverages, and when we wanted to upgrade he made this process easy and efficient. On our big day we had the most amazing bartenders, Avery and Kyle. We had many raving compliments from guest on how awesome our bartenders were, from remembering everyones drinks, making delicious drinks and keeping the wait times short. Barworks provided bar services at my wedding and they did awesome! Mark was very flexible and allowed us to customize our package with wine choices we preferred. We considered bringing our own alcohol to save money since our venue allowed it, but Barworks prices were so good we chose to have them provide the alcohol and save the hassle, which was a great decision. We had 2 bartenders for 86 people and I was a bit worried the bar would get backed up, but the bartenders did great and there was rarely a line, and I got multiple compliments on how friendly the bartenders were. Would absolutely recommend Barworks for weddings or any other events! read more

We worked with Barworks for our November 7th wedding at the La Jolla Woman's Club, and I cannot recommend them enough! Our guests absolutely loved the mimosa bar, and the bar service was great in general. They provided the bartenders, glassware, mixers, and drinks (there was also an option to buy your own, but we didn't want to have to worry about that). The selection in their premium option was excellent, and I was really happy that we could choose just a beer/wine service instead of adding liquor. Overall, I would definitely recommend Barworks! read more

We worked with Barworks for our wedding at the La Jolla Woman's club and were so happy with the services. The prices were right in our budget for the BYOB option. This allowed us to pick our favorite local beer options, which we and our guests loved. The bartenders were skilled and friendly, and helped make it a great party. Would recommend! read more

Barworks - Caterers Near Me - San Diego, California

BarWorks provided everything we could have asked for in a bartending service at our wedding. They were extremely prompt in replying to communications, professional and straightforward in their responses. Their services were flexible - we wanted to provide the beer, wine, & liquor. Barworks served our alcohol while still providing bottled water and non-alcoholic mixers themselves. We wanted to serve custom cocktails-- they obliged, the drinks were delicious (and strong). Though we only interacted with them via email before the day of the wedding (and they were the only vendor our venue worked with), the day-of services were excellent, and everyone had a ton of fun. The line at the bar was long, but that was attributable to the number of guests. If we did it again we'd have sprung for the second bar, to keep more people on the dance floor longer. read more

BarWorks is the preferred vendor at the La Jolla Woman's Club and we completely understand why! Carol and her staff were professional, responsive, and had a great selection for our open bar wedding on July 14, 2018. We were able to have the signature drinks we wanted (sangria and margaritas, at no extra cost), and Carol went out of her way to accommodate us with the champagne for toasts, as well as with the beer and alcohol selections. Day of, Carol sent us four fantastic bartenders who worked their tails off to keep our guests hydrated and happy (read: drunk), which is exactly what we were hoping for! We are very grateful to BarWorks for helping to make our wedding and reception go off without a hitch! read more

Mark canceled on our event one week prior! It puts us in a very difficult position to find anything else. I would not recommend making a contract with him at all. It is too risky. read more

I used BarWorks for my wedding at La Jolla Woman's Club. They provided bartenders, glassware, and mixers (we bought the alcohol from BevMo). Carol was great with communication, and she worked with us to figure out which ingredients we needed to provide for our signature drinks. The only thing I would recommend is to really think about your group and determine whether they are heavy/medium/light drinkers. We originally had two bars for 85 people (most heavy-medium drinkers), but were told that wouldn't be necessary. However, we wish we did two bars in the end because the line was long the entire night. read more

I would highly recommend Bar Works for any event. We needed a bartender for a command holiday party that did not require us to purchase alcohol before hand. We were able to secure them for the party without having to pay a down payment or anything like that. We only had to meet a $700 minimum requirement at the event. We really appreciate how efficient and professional Bar Works was throughout the whole process. The bartenders Karen and David were on time, even early, to set up the bar in time for the event. They provided all materials for bartending and had a wide variety of drinks. They provided top shelf and well options for mixed drinks as well as wine, beer, seltzers and soda. The prices of the drinks were reasonable and comparable to a bar in San Diego. They accepted cash and card, which made it convenient. They also cleaned up after themselves and took out their own garbage. Overall I would highly recommend Bar Works to anyone needing a bartender for their next event. read more

I attended an event catered by Barworks and I'm thankful I didn't foot the bill. The lines were long, the drinks tasted like they were watered down, and the customer service was terrible. As to the comments posted by the owner personally attacking any negative comments about his business, SHAME ON YOU! Instead of apologizing you call your customers cheap, insinuate that they were dishonest, and a myriad of other allegations. What ever happened to "the customer is always right?" You claim to be successful. It won't last long with an attitude like that. read more

In response to the manager's critique of my review: Believe with whom you want, but I stand by my earlier review. This company refused to give me the same discount that they offered me less than a year earlier. I had asked for the same discount as last year, but they refused. I definitely understand that business costs "have risen" over time, but I felt that as repeat customers we at least should have gotten the same discount we had a year ago. Just as business costs have risen, so have social budget funding shrunk. If you have plenty of money to spend, unlike my state-funded budget that I am working with, then by all means, you don't have to be as very cost-focused as I am. I just wanted to say that with Kevin's Bartending Company in contrast, I really felt that my business was valuable to them. On top of that, they were extremely friendly to my budget, with no less (and I'm arguing, more) value of service. My philosophy with dealing with vendors (ESPECIALLY with $1000s are involved), is that respect for customers is so key. A willingness to work with a client's budget, kindness and respect for the client. And most importantly, if the client is (unfortunately) dissatisfied with a service, instead of blaming or undervaluing a customer's experience, truly honoring what the client has experienced in hopes of a better future relationship with said client. This is in no offense to Barworks Company, I'm merely advocating what I've experienced for those in the market for San Diego bartending companies. On the other hand, I'm glad Barworks is addressing these reviews, in hopes that their company can really offer a great service to those in this market. In summary: go with a company that respects you! Just from my perspective of my past experiences (plural) with this company. read more

I hired Barworks for one of my events in June for unlimited alcohol, they decided it was ok to charge me a couple of hundred dollars on top of all the money I had paid them. They charged my account without telling me, causing me to overdraft. I kept calling and no one got to me until a week and a half later. I even emailed and no one responded. Once I finally reached them they said its because they were running out of alcohol. Of course they are going to run out, its unlimited! My guest didnt even touch the wine or the beer they were providing. I think this is so ridiculous! Until this day it is not resolved. I am still waiting for their phone call. I would not recommend this catering service! & if you do decide to hire them, be aware of the charges they might decide to charge on your account! be careful of which account # to give!!!!!!! read more

Well we hired Barworks to cater our event. Their wines were fairly bad so we decided to provide our own. The only thing they were responsible for was providing proper larger wine glasses and pour. A simple job which we were willing to pay over $3,000 for. For the dinner the food caterer's provided the larger champagne glasses. Again all Barworks had to do was POUR. That is what they were hired to do. It is just inconceivable that anyone could botch out such a simple job. They poured just about for one sip of champagne in each glass, just enough for one toast. We all ended up reaching for our water glasses with each toast. Well over half of the champagne bottles I bought were left. They just did not bother to serve anyone. For the rest of the event, they supplied the very small wine glasses disregarding what we had agreed. Anyone that cares for wine knows that from these little glasses all you can tell is that the wine is red or white. The several months we spent choosing wines were of no effect due to their breach of contract. You cannot trust what they say. You cannot trust what they agree to do. In my view their lack of professionalism should scare away every customers. read more

I just had my first experience with Barworks and they were great. I do corporate events for a living so finding someone to partner with that can handle the alcohol side of things is a relief to me. when my company does a party that needs some booze...this is the go to place! Most of the communication was done through email and the response time was good. Their contract was straight forward and they offer a range of bar services. I decided on an open bar and it turned out great for what we needed. Our server Raelene was very professional while remaining down to earth and friendly. She arrived on time and set up for the event quickly. We even had a few laughs during her time setting up and while providing service...which made for a better event! It was refreshing to see a vendor want to help the planet by recycling and most of what was served wound up back in her bin to take to recycle! Yay for going green. Clean up was quick and painless and you would have never known that a large party had even taken place! They provide a discount for payment in cash or by check but charge a 3.5% service charge for paying by credit card so be aware. Decent selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. read more

Carol provided bar service for our wedding earlier this year, and I'm way overdue on writing a review and thanking her. She's so great to work with that I was thanking her in emails even before the wedding. We has a few specific requests about brands, and some signature cocktails, and Carol was gracious, efficient, and just on it through the whole planning process. On the big day, she and her folks were exactly where we wanted them when we wanted them, and their service throughout the event and reception was flawless. We did not and still do not regret a penny we spent with BarWorks - they helped make our wedding a phenomenal event and we got rave reviews from all out guests on their service as well. If you're looking for someone who's going to get it absolutely right, so you don't have to worry about a thing, hire BarWorks and go off and worry about some other aspect of your event. read more

We recently got married and our venue had Barworks as their exclusive alcohol vendor. Aside from my initial conversation with them in which they were helpful and tried to accommodate for our needs/budget and responded promptly, every other interaction left much to be desired. What I learned about wedding planning is that many vendors talk a big game and make you feel like they are going to work with you and do what you ask, but then you book with them and after that things start to change. Because Barworks was an exclusive vendor and we had no other vendor option, I felt like they didn't care about helping us or about the quality of their customer service or our satisfaction. Especially given the amount of money that we were spending, you'd think that they would try to help us with the minimal requests that we had, but they did not want to do anything beyond the minimum. For example, in the beginning we asked them about options of purchasing our own alcohol to serve at the wedding, but they discouraged us because they said we wouldn't know how to predict what we would need. In the beginning they made it seem like it could be a possibility, when they weren't at all interested in helping us make it happen. Also, when we went to pick our wines for the event, they just gave us a list of 30 wines, none of which we had tasted and asked us to pick two. There were some highlighted wines on that list that were "reccomendations", but based on our research and conversation with wine-os at Total Wine and More, none of their recommended wines were recommended to us by the experts at Total Wine. Thank goodness we did our research. Overall, I really felt like Barworks was just trying to take our money and did not care at all about customer satisfaction. I would not recommend using Barworks if you have a choice. If you don't have a choice/are forced into using them by your venue, proceed with caution! read more

I hired Barworks for my small wedding, fully hosted bar. Best decision I could have made. Prices were very reasonable and for a small fee, we added specialty drinks--margaritas, mojitos, tequila sunrise, coco loco. They took care of the special event permit we needed, showed up on time, provided great service, and made my guests very happy with delicious drinks. read more

We didn't have an option to choose from multiple catered beverage services for La Jolla Women's Club--it was either going with BarWorks, or none at all. However, Carol Griswold provided us with multiple options to cater for our reception, and she was very easy to work with and with reasonable prices. The night of our reception, the setup was perfect, the staff were very friendly and informative of our drinks, and we heard nothing but great and positive feedback from our guests about the service they received. So overall, it worked out with BarWorks, and we were very happy. read more

We've used BarWorks twice now, first for my wedding reception in 2009 and again for my 40th birthday party last weekend. The prices are very reasonable and they are willing to work with you to customize to your party. But more importantly, the bartenders they send have been super friendly, hard-working and professional and I really appreciate that. Our latest one last weekend, Natalia, was great; she set up and broke down quickly and efficiently, and kept the party going. She even helped us with cleanup at the end of the night since many of us were less than effective after 4 hrs of open bar! Needless to say, they're worth checking out if you're considering getting bar service for your next party. read more

Our wedding was at LJWC, so BarWorks handled our alcohol service. Carol was great at making sure she understood all the details for our wedding day, and we had a few! I'll never forget her serving us from a double magnum wine bottle we provided, and how she made it interactive for our guests as well! That personal touch really went a long way with us. We also had personalized signature drinks that many of our guests raved about - they were fan favorites! BarWorks also allowed us to put up signs that would allow us to keep in the theme of our wedding. Thanks to Carol and the BarWorks team for letting us customize our service for our wedding at LJWC! read more

As the sole food and beverage professional on the board of my daughter's high school foundation, I volunteered to research beverage caterers for our annual gala fundraiser. The venue we had utilized in the years previous to this one offered on-premise food and beverage. After researching online, I checked the businesses I was considering on YELP. After sorting through the reviews - the ones based on actual service, and the ones who seemed to have some personal gripe, evaluating the set-up costs (or not), the minimum spend, etc., I made the recommendation to hire Barworks. This turned out to be an excellent decision. From the easy contract process, to the service provided during the F&B committee's follow-up requests, to the very professional set-up and service throughout the gala itself, it could not have been more perfect. Robert and Robin were consummate professionals, both in appearance and in service. The selection of beverages was completely appropriate to the group. I have no hesitation in recommending Barworks for any social occasion or corporate event. If our foundation continues to utilize venus that do not provide food and beverage, I know that we will hire Barworks again. And the next time I host an event in my home that requires bar services above what we can manage on our own, I would call Barworks first. read more

Barworks did a great job keeping our guests happy at our wedding. Carol was great at answering all my questions and even assisted with helping me calculate what I needed for the amount of guests we were having even though we didn't purchase our alcohol through them. We worked together on our signature drinks to use as many of their products that we could. I sent over a picture of what props I would be supplying and they made it look great the day of. The staff members were friendly and efficient. I was worried they wouldn't have enough time to chill our alcohol in a two-hour time frame and they did. We used Barworks for our winery wedding this summer and were very pleased. They did not provide any alcohol, only bartender, stemware and non-alcoholic beverages. We were very pleased. Carol isn't always the best at responding, but it was fairly easy to coordinate everything with her via email. Insurance certs etc. We just loved our bartender Nicole the day of. I recently used bar works to host my wedding event, I personally would not trust them or use them for such a special occasion ever again. The bartender was rude they were very unprofessional and just seems like they were there to collect the money and leave. I have since then sent them an email explain to them the way the night of events proceeded, all I really wanted was an apology from them and that was pretty much it and I would have been happy.. but I didn't even get a return email or anything just another bill in the mail... I would just like to warn people on your special occasion expescially on a night that you dumped several months and hours of time into and lots of hard earned money into planning to not go with these people, it will just make your night frustrating. And I wasn't the only one complaining I had several of my guests telling me about how bar works treated them. & I was the groom and I wasn't expecting any special attention but I was expecting some kind of courtesy from them read more
