There is a reason BSM is so reputable. Nothing compares to this place in terms of quality! It's hard to buy any other flour.

We went on a Saturday night and it was very well lit, although the deli offerings looked a little bit sad. Service was standard Whole Foods behavior with self check out, seating outside and in the area to dine or take your food out to go! This is a bit of a trek for us to go to but we are loyal WF fans and enjoyed exploring this spot!

I'm grateful to have a store close enough to my house that delivery is available. The one thing I can say (having shopped at this store for over a decade) is the staff provides the most amazing customer service. Stellar! I recently placed an order to get a few specialty food items to enjoy on the holidays solo. [NOTE: When you shop through Amazon Prime any items shopped as "unavailable" are replaced by an Amazon automatic algorithm and you literally only have 90 seconds to accept or deny via text. Not the store's fault, but very annoying.] On this particular order, the algorithm replaced a meat product with a dessert. Hilarious. Knowing the time restrictions, I immediately called the store. I had called late the previous evening to make sure they had plenty of the product in stock and was assured they did. I was told that there was nothing they could do, as the order had already closed. I kindly asked to be escalated to an e-commerce rep. Kai (and other staff) successfully found the item I desperately wanted for the occasion and added it to my order. :) For any other person, and especially during any other time of year, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal at all. To me this year, during this time, it was and is. So thank you so much Kai et al for helping me make the best time of the holiday season that I planned for myself. Joy to the world! Sometimes the smallest things mean the most. Cheers!

I placed the order by email a couple weeks in advance and was told that someone would contact me for payment. No one did, and I called twice before someone actually took payment over the phone. She totaled it wrong when I questioned the high amount, then recalculated and came up with the right price. I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the bakers, I said I would leave a cash tip when I picked up the pies. Apparently she didn't understand that, because when I came to pick up there was already a 25% tip added on, which I thought was rude. Every single pie (we ordered 4) had the driest crust and was hard to cut, even with a sharp kitchen knife. I ordered pies because I was on a tight time crunch with a lot of guests and thought it would save time. Hardly anyone took more than a couple bites and it was very embarrassing because I had hyped up the local bakery so much. They were pricey and not worth it at all. Every interaction with the bakery from the time of order to pick up was terrible. We are so burnt on this experience that we won't be coming back here during the rest of the year anymore. We trusted Thyme and Dough with a special holiday meal and it was ruined. It won't happen again.

They are attached, all one building. They are really responsive! I accidentally booked a reservation for 14 instead of 13, asked for a refund, and received it within a day. We arrived 10 minutes early for our appointed tasting time, and spent it wandering around the shop. We were led to the back tasting room on time and seated with a delicious tasting set of 6 olive oils and 4 balsamic vinegars, along with some bread as a palette cleanser. Our host was very informative and each olive oil and balsamic were noticeably different. The Sicilian was a great tasting Olive Oil x Italian Herb type of feeling, and most of the olive oils had the authentic black peppery aftertaste. I ended up going home with some of the Terra Verde to share with people, as well as the fig balsamic vinegar. We ended up eating at the bistro here, too (Order-to-entree: ~25 minutes-35 minutes for the entire table of 13). The flatbread was very sharable among two people. Everyone did comment on how the olive oil notes stood out in their dishes! The prices were extremely reasonable and they set aside a long table for our large group, great service all around. Overall, we had a great experience here and would definitely recommend the tasting for a unique nonalcoholic experience in the area.

I've known that the rocky soils in the Texas Hill Country are good for wine producing, but recently learned that it is also great for making great olive oils. With many misleading brands in the grocery store, extra virgin olive oil includes a high percentage of seed oils as Texas does a poor job of regulating what the label says. As we are constantly looking for better options to prepare our foods, finding a healthy olive oil has been on our minds recently. Texas Hill Country Olive Co. is not only producing authentic oils, but is also an award winning brand for doing such. During the tasting, we not only sampled a variety of oils and balsamic vinegars they produce, but also learned the history of doing so. The 4 s, sniff, swirl, sip, and swallow was the process to get the true taste to come alive in our mouths. We ended up buying the Sicilian olive oil and Blackberry balsamic vinegar to take home, as they were our favorites. There are many to choose from, so it's worth doing the tasting. If you have an afternoon free, desire a new experience, and want to view the beautiful hill country landscape, then this may be just the trip for you.

OMG, let me just say they turned out insanely delicious. I always buy my beef, chicken, pork, etc., at HEB and I usually get the "Prime 1" category of steaks and burgers. I always thought my steaks and burgers were good but now that I have had real, fresh cut butcher shop steaks I will never go back to grocery store meat again. The difference in quality was very apparent. The steaks I chose were thick filet mignons (tenderloin), about 2 inches thick. Every bite was perfect, not a single bit of fat, chewiness or toughness. It was of the same quality you'd get at a fine dining steakhouse downtown. I also bought a pound of ground beef, a pack of wagyu hot dogs and some beef jerky but have not tried them yet. They had some gigantic cooked meatballs on display that I have my eye on for another night. The various types of marinated chicken breasts looked really good too. In addition to the meats they have a wall of interesting dry goods like sauces, chips, etc., and a cold section of prepared side dishes as well. Pricewise, if you usually buy the HEB basic beef and chicken like their Hill Country Fare line or the tubes of ground beef, then the meat at the butcher shop will be significantly more expensive. On the other hand, if you usually buy the more pricey Prime 1 or Organic Grass Fed lines of beef and the Mary's Free Range Heirloom chicken or Central Market Organic Air-Chilled Chicken, then the prices here are quite comparable, in some cases even less. They run complete meal specials and deals on their website and they offer a loyalty card program you can join for free to get more discounts. Lakeway and Bee Cave people, please give this place a try! They need our support.
