After being a patient for several years, I just had the worst experience with their staff. They need a customer service training seminar! I found a new dentist! They are too busy and don't value their existing patients! They care nothing about customer retention! SAD! read more

We went there for years and years. The office staff was good, Dr. Caldwell was terrific, and my favorite of all was Mary. However, no matter how good the doc and tech are, if the front desk is horrible, you will lose clients. When Brandy was office manager, it was great. She moved and it was all over. My daughter was in 2nd grade when we started going there. When she went to college out of town, it made it to where we would have a month's notice to give for an appointment. (She never came home during the holidays.) They NEVER had openings a month in advance. The last time I tried to schedule a cleaning appointment they did not have an opening and I had to schedule it elsewhere. It really didn't have anything to do with me personally, but I was grateful to the other dentist office that welcomed us with open arms. So now we do not go to Bartlett Dental. Oh, how I miss Mary! read more

Things have really gone downhill at the front desk, as many other people have mentioned. The dentists and hygienists are all great, however you have to deal with so much incompetence with the front desk and billing / insurance now that I am probably going to switch to another dentist. I have been going there for 20 years. All the feedback is the same but nothing is being done to correct the problems. You just keep giving out the front desk number, try giving a number for someone who actually cares about the problems because they don't! read more

There billing department is incompetent, Don't expect an accurate bill. When you call the office about errors on your bill they don;t return calls or make corrections. read more

So I HAD an appointment for tomorrow. They called my personal phone at 10 today and left a voicemail for me to call back and confirm my appointment. I called them back at 2:38 this afternoon and found out they gave my spot away. Their front desk has become a joke. read more

I agree with the numerous other posts on Bartlett Dental Associates. We were Dr. Caldwell's patients for 30 years, and now we can't get an appointment and we often get our daughter's bills (who doesn't even live with us). My husband also kept getting notices about his appointment when he had just been in the office a month before. I am so frustrated with the office staff. They are not helpful nor do they tell the truth. I have been told I would be placed on a waiting list for cancellations, however, that list does not exist. Our new dentist and hygienists were wonderful but I don't think we can continue their services. read more

Was a patient for 8 years on my last visit very disappointed they had no internet so I didn't get x-rays which I was charged has a tooth cleaning which was very good.the dentist didn't seem to care I had a broken tooth did a cursory inspection said would call me back for x-rays never called.VERY UNHAPPY. read more

I've gone to this practice for over 20 yrs but when my dentist retired and I had a crown by the new dentist, when I told her that I felt nerve pain, she told me it's 'normal.' Over a year later, I still have terrible nerve pain and cannot eat on that side of my mouth. Another dentist has helped to relieve some of the pain, but the new dentist said she hesitates to open it up because then she becomes responsible for whatever is in there that was messed up at Bartlett Dental Associates. Also, during the procedure, an assistant dropped the crown into the back of my throat. It was only because I already had anxiety and jumped up and coughed that it didn't go down my throat. When the assistant told the dentist, she laughed. I would not send my worst enemy to this practice. No one should have to live in this kind of pain. read more

I have gone here for years. Mary is my dental hygienist an I love dealing with her. Anyone I have had to deal with has been great. Recently my grandson needed an appointment an they were very kind, and accepting. There appointments are never soon if that is something you need. read more

The hygienist and dentist I saw were great, but their front office staff and scheduling system was terrible. I had an appointment that had to be rescheduled. That's fine, and I acknowledge I did t return the call, but was sent a message after saying my appointment had been moved to earlier in the day. Great, no issue. When I showed up at the rescheduled appointment time the staff had an attitude as they told me that I did not have an appointment, and was placed on their ghost call list. I explained to them that this was extremely frustrating as a patient, and the receptionist rolled her eyes and more or less told me that's how it is and it was my fault for not calling. Then they tried to reschedule me, and I told them that I was not interested in their business practices and would take my business elsewhere. read more

The staff and the service is great. They are very accommodating to your needs and Dr. Caldwell is very knowledgeable and extremely nice.

Dr. Mary Kirkpatrick was the most caring dentist I've ever had the pleasure of being with. This office has all the new up to date tools and technology to reassure anyone walking in that this staff has the best insight to your dental health. I have brought over some of my family to this business because customer care is very important to me. I will continue to come back and I advise anyone looking for a new family dentist to head straight there! Thank you Dr. Mary!! read more

My husband has been coming here and likes it and I thought I would give it a go since my normal dentist was closed due to COVID-19. The office staff was fine. I got X-rays done and was just getting a teeth cleaning. The dental hygienist was nice but she wanted to take my blood pressure. I indicated on the new patient forms that I have taken medication in the past for it so maybe that's why she wanted to check, but my blood pressure is actually anxiety and I told her that. She took my blood pressure three times and I told her it probably was just going to get worse but I told her that I have low readings at home and I could show them to her. I don't think she knew what to do so she got the dentist to come visibly check that I didn't have any cavities but the dentist told me I couldn't get my teeth cleaned because my blood pressure was too high and that something with the bacteria during a teeth cleaning could make it worse. I mostly was shocked that they weren't going to clean my teeth. I had been there about an hour and taken time off work to go. They said I could come back after seeing a doctor who could tell them it's ok for me to get my teeth cleaned. Another thing that bothered me was that the dentist said my blood pressure reading is too high to just be anxiety. I just felt like she couldn't really say that not even knowing my medical history at all. A lot of things affect blood pressure, like time of day, whether I ate something or drank something beforehand, etc. Mostly I would have liked if they had checked it again after a while and given it a chance to drop or at least see my readings from home, which I have on an app on my phone. Then I was checking out and was standing at the front desk for about 10 minutes frustrated from the whole ordeal but trying to be patient. They were having computer issues which was fine. But they gave me some sort of dental plan for future appointments and told me how much it would cost and I was confused because I thought they were saying I owed money for NOT getting my teeth cleaned. Anyway, I didn't actually owe anything and was a little frustrated that they made me stand there for 10 minutes when I didn't need to pay anything. I won't be back. I've never been to a dentist where they check my blood pressure and then not actually clean my teeth! I understand it's probably an indicator of something worse if I was an older person and wasn't a healthy 30 year old with no other health risks. I'll be going back to my regular dentist. read more

The staff here is friendly and very knowledgeable, they explain what's going on and why you need to take the direction you need to with your Oral Care. It makes me feel better when I know exactly why I need to do something instead of just being told I need to do something. I will be coming back here, I had Dr. Kirkpatrick evaluate me, she's friendly and with the no pressure feel. Mary is her assistant and makes you comfortable when asking questions and not feel silly. read more

I've been going to Dr. Caldwell since the Reagan administration(!). He is, hands down, the BEST dentist in Memphis. Gentle, soft spoken, great bedside manner, trustworthy, highly skilled - you couldn't ask for a better dentist. He is a CLASS ACT. The staff is great too. read more

Bartlett Dental Associates took my payment for exrays - then looked at the list of meds I was taking & declined to pull my tooth. The funny thing is that a year ago I was on more meds & a blood thinner & they gladly pulled a tooth for me. Now I have spent over $100 for x-rays & I have to wait 2 more weeks to have the tooth pulled by someone else. 2 more weeks of pain... pray for me! read more

I had an abscess tooth and made an appointment, which I was very pleased they got me in as soon as they did. When I arrived the staff could visibly see the amount of pain I was in as well as the swelling on the left side of my face. X-rays were taken and it was decided that the tooth needed to come out . The price that was given to me to do so was ok with me but this tooth was severely infected and I did not feel comfortable with having it pulled without an antibiotic first , but the dentist assured me it would be fine. As soon as they found out I only had half of what they quoted me I was told to come back the next day when I had the money . Ok , fine . I understand that , but the fact these people allowed me to walk out of that office in tears from the obvious pain I was in is just appalling to me. I asked if they had any ideas on what I could do to get some relief between then and coming back , I was told in a rude manner "Advil and Tylenol " I had been taking Advil and Tylenol both for 3 days . The main thing I wanted was an antibiotic first and foremost but no one here seemed interested in anything but my payment. The next day I went to another dentist and he prescribed me an antibiotic and guess what ? Within 24 hours my pain level had gone from a 10 to maybe a 3. Maybe if you have insurance or have extra money laying around these people will help you out but otherwise I would say you are out of luck going here . read more

Always a pleasant experience for a dental office. Keyona is an exceptional assistant, dentists are great as well as office personel.

This is a mixed review... I saw Dr. Durham on Wednesday, as one of my crowns came loose. I initially was to see Dr. Caldwell, but when the nursing assistant looked at the x-ray, and had one of the doctors look, I was moved to the far left room, as the tooth and crown would need me to extracted. On that day, I elected to see an oral surgeon to have it extracted, and have an implant started. Dr Durham prescribed me some narcotic pain medication. However, when we took it to walgreens, it turned out, he forgot to sign it. As it was after 5, there was nothing I could do. So, we called first thing in the morning and informed them that we got an unsigned scrip. So my fiancé went, and picked up another scrip. This one gets filled, and all is ok. Later that day the pain got bad enough that the pain meds werent working, so I got another emergency appointment, where Dr. Durham (He's a great dentist from what I can tell, so far) extracted the tooth. As this was more trauma to the mouth in that area, he prescribed me the stronger version of the pain medication. We drop it off at Walgreens. I later get informed that they wouldnt fill it, as it's the same medicine that was filled that morning, just a different dose. The next day, we called the doctors office about Walgreens not being able to fill it, but they were closed due to the snow and ice. We asked to speak with the dental assistant or dentist on call. The Dental assistant called back, and said "the dentist did not write you any prescriptions today. Our records show you got 2 scripts already, one that you forged the signature on (we did not, we still have it at home), and one we gave as a "replacement". What you are doing is drug seeking, which is a crime!" Now, the problem is... the doctor on call was most likely Dr. Caldwell, so of course, he did not write me a scrip. Maybe my record is wrong, because I was to initially see Dr. Caldwell, but got switched to Dr. Durham. The fact that they accused my fiancé of drug seeing, plus the fact that my 3 day scrip of the weaker pain meds is leaving me in a lot of pain (and to survive the weekend, I'm only taking 1/2 a dose...) is the main reason for only giving this place 2 stars. I'd have only given 1 star, but the 3 dental assistants I delt with, and Dr. Durham being so good, I added an extra star for them. I do not like to be accused, or have my fiancé be accused, of a felony. If the dental assistant bothered to ask "which dentist did you see?", a lot of problems would not have happened. If Dr. Caldwell didn't jump to conclusions about the unsigned scrip, and it's replacement being we forged a scrip, and maybe ask for clarification, the majority of the problems would never occured. But, they lose 3 stars for falsely accusing me or my fiancé of a felony. Like any sane person, it'd be stupid to think that a person would have a tooth pulled just to get a measly 18 pills. Do they thing that next week I'd go get hid by a bus so I can get morphine? It's utterly preposterous. So right now, depending on how they fix things tomorrow(monday), I'd say stay far far away from this practice for anything than a routine cleaning. If they do anything needing pain medication, they are bound to mess up, and blame it all on you. (One thing they actually did, giving me an unsigned scrip *IS* a violation of the DEA regulations on the prescription of controlled substances) read more

I'm so glad that I found Bartlett Dental Associates! Everyone that works there is so sweet and hospitable. They all seem to sincerely care about your comfort and well being. I recently found this practice and when I called they set my appointment with Dr. Olinger. Dr. Olinger is an excellent Dentist- he explains things thoroughly, he is very approachable and easy to talk to, and his work is exceptional. I've had a lot of dental issues in the last 10 years and have seen a few different Dentists at different practices, but Dr. Olinger is by far the best Dentist I have ever worked with. Today, I had a root canal and a temporary crown put on. Not only was it the most comfortable root canal experience I've ever had, but the temporary crown he put on looks better than the permanent crown next to it that a different Dentist did! It's incredible! They were very meticulous and thorough while working on me today. I could tell because they took extra steps to make sure everything was perfect- steps that I do not remember my previous Dentist taking. I would recommend this office to anyone in need of any kind of dental work! My only regret is not finding them sooner! read more
