However, no matter how good the doc and tech are, if the front desk is horrible, you will lose clients. When Brandy was office manager, it was great. She moved and it was all over. My daughter was in 2nd grade when we started going there. When she went to college out of town, it made it to where we would have a month's notice to give for an appointment. (She never came home during the holidays.) They NEVER had openings a month in advance. The last time I tried to schedule a cleaning appointment they did not have an opening and I had to schedule it elsewhere. It really didn't have anything to do with me personally, but I was grateful to the other dentist office that welcomed us with open arms. So now we do not go to Bartlett Dental. Oh, how I miss Mary!

My current dentist recommended 2 crowns priced at $1,000. I doubted his capability so I saw Dr. Pettey today just for a consultation. He said he could do some fillings and that would take care of the loss of enamel issue right then. I was pleasantly surprised he could fit me in when I was just scheduled for a consult. I was in there maybe an hour from start to finish and my 2 front teeth look brand new. My cost less insurance was $116 instead of what I could have paid ($1,000). You can't even see where the enamel loss was. As a result, I am switching to Dr. Pettey as my new dentist for me and my husband. Owning his own practice totally makes a difference in the care you are given. He and Johnna did an amazing job and I am so pleased with the outcome! Highly, highly recommend. At the office, I was told to speak with Erica about the bill. I have to say, I've never encountered anyone so rude in a professional setting. She asked if I had come to pay the bill. I explained that I was disputing the charge and began to share why. However, before I could finish, she interrupted me, said I had no right to dispute the bill, and gave a poor explanation of the charges. As the conversation continued, she told me I had no right to speak and then, while turning to someone else, referred to me by saying, "He is about to be dismissed." I'd like to remind Erica of a few important points: 1. Every patient has the right to dispute charges. 2. Every patient has the right to be heard -- this is America. 3. No patient or their concerns should be dismissed. 4. Every patient deserves to be treated with respect. My family and I are now considering switching to another dentist, and if we do, we will make sure to share this experience on social media and elsewhere.
