Not only was he great at the bar, but he also helped out by walking around with a platter asking guests if he could swap and refresh their cocktails. He kept the bar stocked (and restocked from our basement) during the party so that we could enjoy time with our friends. He also did a great job cleaning up at the end of the night. John is a true professional who treats others with kindness and care. Not only will we be using his services in the future, but multiple friends mentioned that they will be hiring him as well for future celebrations!

A Touch of Elegance was nothing but a disappointment by Denise (Owner) our event executer…read more When reading this review, please realize this was written to help other brides and people who deserve an amazing event planner/executor for their special day. We hired a Touch of Elegance to ONLY execute our designs for our wedding in September 2019. I (The Bride) worked with the owner herself, Denise, who agreed to take on this project. I gave her specific details and instructions on how I wanted key aspects of my wedding to come together which included: putting up a photo backdrop which I designed, placing all tent cards in order on the backdrop, assisting with gathering family members for pictures during cocktail hour, making sure the banquet hall was ready (table numbers, reserved seating, guest gifts) for photography before guests arrive, setting up the memory table, the autograph table, and placing signage. We also had a surprise swing dance number for our guests and I had a dress change, so that is the only thing that she helped us with correctly. Please see the images attached regarding how each part was executed INCORRECTLY as there was not enough room to write it all here sadly. We gave Denise a Call regarding feedback Being the "Hospitality Power Couple" (name given by our family and friends) and myself for receiving a degree in graphic design and hospitality, we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Learning of some of the issues during our wedding, after our wedding, learning much more from family friends, and the staff of our hotel venue about Denise was hard to take in. Unfortunately, we had to call Denise to ask how she felt our wedding day went as we wanted to hear her side of the story. The best way to sum up the call would be that it showed us who Denise really is. She kept telling us "She DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME". Our first thought was, if you did not leave yourself enough time, why not bring in more of your staff to help you. We placed our trust and faith in her as she reassured us many times everything will be wonderful on our wedding day since we were over organized and too detailed, but it shows that no matter how OCD you may be, it can still be executed WRONG. With Denise knowing all this taking place during our wedding, we feel we wasted our money as we never planned to have an event planner execute our designs but my now husband convinced me that she was worth it. Sadly, we were wrong, and we paid for it as we DID NOT RECEIVE A REFUND from Denise. From one business owner to another (founder of my graphic design company and a nonprofit), I was also DISAPPOINTED that she DID NOT CARE TO CALL us for our feedback. I had to reach out to her to set up a call. As an owner, I would want my clients to be honest with me about my work, my work ethic, and how I am as person when working with clients. I am always trying to be better for my clients, and I hope she does the same going forward because I will never recommend her to family or friends after this experience. I hope Denise learns from our wedding on how not to treat people and their guests when hosting an event. My biggest hope is that she does not cause any of these problems for anyone else's event going forward as no one needs more stress on a big day like their wedding or any special event for that matter.

They were high energy, dancing behind the bar to the dj's music the entire night! Everyone loved their contagious energy! I had no issue with that as I'm sure it makes people return the containers. We did not care for the food and chose not to try the service again. When I returned the glass containers (admittedly a few months later, but they were returned) I was informed that you have to use their service eight times to get the deposit back. This was the first I heard of it because I would never have agreed. Why would I agreed to use a service for eight times before I even know if I liked it?! Chef Beau said that the policy was explained to me in a "myriad if ways". This is simply not true. He is now refusing to return my $150 deposit even though he has his glass containers back. This is theft of my money as he has his property. It's simple - you charge a deposit for an item, the item gets to return you give back the deposit. Do not use the service!

My husband and I hired Chicago movers and shakers for our wedding this last past July. When we…read moreoriginally hired josh last summer in August we were really excited. He is personable, seemed organized and he was very quick to respond. So we hired him and continued to plan our wedding without thinking about it twice. Now, I know that June, July and August is the busiest time of the year for anybody in the wedding business and I know that this is Josh's side job. Nevertheless, he was practically unreadable the month before my wedding. I tried calling him the day of my wedding and he did not even respond or call me back. I went into the church not knowing if I had a dj or not. When I got to my venue josh had just arrived and was setting up. He was supposed to arrive two hours ahead of time and he barely made it an hour before. I had also hired him to play a slideshow that my mother spent hours putting together of my husband and I in addition to a black and white movie. We had previously discussed which wall it would go on. I walk into the space and the projector was set up on the wrong wall and it was so close to the wall that we couldn't even see the beautiful slide show that my mother put together clearly. It was heartbreaking. As far as the actual music part, he played good song choices. However, he played them all the way to the end, no dj skills to transition from one song to the other. Honestly, I could have put on Spotify or Pandora and it would have been the same. I had to also tell him when to play the father daughter dance and had to signal him when to stop the song so that we could play the first dance song. All in all it was not a good experience. I'm a big Yelp and review person and I am not quite sure how he got so many good reviews but he definitely dropped the ball at my wedding big time. His services left a lot to be desired from.

We were extremely impressed with the company's professionalism throughout the entire planning process! From the staff who answered our emails to those that hung up the lights the day of, everyone was extremely helpful and assisted in making our special day run smoothly. We got married on a Friday and had the option to split the cost of the lighting package with the couple getting married on the following day-this was a great alternative that the company offered us! If you are looking to add some extra flare to your event space (especially those brides/grooms getting married in a loft/industrial space!), we would highly recommend looking into MDM Entertainment!

"3 Chefs Catering" is actually quite an impressive catering business, located just up the street…read morefrom me. It offers numerous menu options, customizing the meals and decor for pretty much every occasion. And it's one-stop shopping, with "3 Chefs..." supplying servers, bartenders, and decorations to match your meal. I did get a chance to taste some of their food while attending a friends wedding, and it was tasty and a little fussy (it was broiled Salmon in a thick and delicious tomato-cream sauce). Also, "3 Chefs..." puts a fair amount of attention to the elegance of the table. But what is most impressive to me is the wide variety of the catering services that they offer. The "3 Chefs Catering" menu can be customized for ANY Occasion, from Cocktail Parties, to Graduation Dinners, to a Intimate & Romantic Anniversary Meal. They even offer to cater events as small as a Picnic, to ones as large as a big BBQ, or any size Party, from Weddings (serving up to 300 guests), to Birthdays, to Corporate Events and Weekend Retreats. And they don't have to make an entire meal. "3 Chefs..." will cater trays of delicate Hors D'oeuvres, chafing dishes of Appetizers, an open-bar Beverage service, to multi item Dessert Table. And to make the Holidays an easier pill to swallow, "3 Chefs..." offers to cater your Thanksgiving dinner, your Christmas Holiday feast, and even religious events like Passover & Easter dinners. This is NOT a Super-Expensive catering service, with a variety of boxed-lunches going for around $11 each. Of course , wedding dinners are far more expensive. So, if you have the money for the Full Monty, "3 Chefs Catering" will TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING, and they are flexible if in case you want the type of meal that is Not specifically offered on any of their pre-set meals. So go ahead, let them do their thing and whip up your dream feast. You won't have to wash a single plate.

Disappointing experience despite a fresh and new business relationship. We have used this catering…read morecompany for multiple corporate events and have spent considerable money with them. Historically, the food and service have been very good, which makes our experience with our most recent BBQ event particularly disappointing. The weather was questionable the morning of the event, so we understood the decision to precook the burgers and brats. However, the weather ultimately cooperated, and the event proceeded as planned. We specifically requested that we use at least one large gas grill we provided, even if only to keep the grill/char lines going, but that did not happen. The catering team arrived on time, but the setup was not completed as expected. Two chefs who had originally been scheduled to be onsite to cook the food ultimately spent much of the event standing around with very little involvement. More importantly, the food was served lukewarm to cold even though it arrived in hotboxes, and some food was undercooked/raw. The sternos were not lit until well after the food had been set up and less than 10 minutes before mealtime, which did little to address the temperature problem. For the price we paid, the quality of service and temperature of the food were simply not acceptable. I immediately raised my concerns with the event planner after the event. When I didn't receive a follow-up, I emailed to express our disappointment. To the event planner's credit, she responded and said the owner wanted to address the matter personally and would contact me after returning from out of town. That was over a month ago, and we have still received no communication. A coworker who also helps coordinate our company events separately contacted her point of contact at the company, but also received no response. What is most disappointing is not simply that one event did not meet expectations. We have been a significant repeat customer, and we expected our concerns to be acknowledged and addressed professionally. Instead, we received no follow-up at all. We have had good experiences with this caterer in the past, which is why this situation has been frustrating. Unfortunately, the combination of cold food, a lack of attention during the event, and zero follow-up afterward has made us decide to seek catering elsewhere for our corporate events.
