Paperwork is rushed, facility need to hire a person familiar with the paperwork and know the negative impact it can have on a case. I was not paid for a doctor visit; I have an open established case for years. Now I have to appeal a decision of non-payment. Anybody who knows about OWCP, know this makes you a target for case closure. Your case will start being reviewed, you will be sent to second opinion doctors, that DOL-OWCP choose. Staff is friendly, treatment is good but none this can happen if cases are closed

Started experiencing extreme hip pain in November of 2024. Quickly spread down my leg and I was…read morerapidly losing mobility. My partner had to take off work to take me into appointments as I could not walk on my own nor drive a car. Dr Alpert suspected herniated discs and a nerve pinch and referred me to Dr Matteini, she dismissed me and told me I had "inflammation of the hip" and sent me to PT. The PT told me immediately I had a pinched nerve and needed an MRI before they could help me. Went back and saw Dr Kogan who said to my face "what do you expect me to do about it", only gave me an MRI referral when I refused to leave until he did so. MRI showed 2 slipped discs pressing on a nerve. Was forced to do more PT, and 2 rounds of steroid injections before begging for surgery. They do not put you under at all for the injections, I have a severe fear of needles and a panic disorder (they were aware of) and was reprimanded for quietly crying during the procedure. Even with my history, they had Dr Matteini preform the surgery and she never acknowledged misdiagnosing me. Received surgery in March of 2025 and still have severe pain and mobility issues. Every follow appointment I was made to feel guilty and like it was my fault. No sympathy for ruining my life. I couldn't leave my house besides Dr appointments for 7 months, I missed every holiday and important date. Do not go here. They don't care about you and shouldn't be doctors. Had they listened to Dr Alpert in the first place, my life could be so different today.

I was able to get in in a very reasonable amount of time with the doctor. Dr. Johnson listened to my concerns, and came up with a treatment plan. We have worked on finding the route of the problem, and not just managing the symptoms.

Apparently they have a new computer system that requires all patients to fill out multiple pages of paperwork that could have been done ahead of time (and not from a clipboard on my lap). After 40 minutes, I left before paying a co-pay when I was told the doctor was running more than an hour late. Everyone in the waiting room was complaining to one another, the office staff was bickering about the delays and computer problems and one patient told to show up an hour late next time (not sure what he meant by this) when I left. Someone should have/could have called me prior to my appointment to see if I wanted to reschedule before I showed up. I did not reschedule and will be seeing someone else for my knee pain in the future. Is overbooking routine here?
