Stopped by during lunch and was very pleasantly surpised. Inside was a cute, dim lit interior with a good amount of seating. We were sat promptly and our server explained the ordering process to us- you note what you want on the ordering sheet and then use a card to signal to your server you're ready. The service was pretty quick and everything was delicious. My favorite taco was the fish taco out of the three I ordered, but my friend got the pork belly and it looked DIVINE. I will be back for it. The berry colada was a fun and refreshing drink that I will gladly order again. I found the price to be very fair , 10/10 will be back
I was shocked and impressed at the same time! The atmosphere was a whole vibe--completely different from the Port Chester location. When a full-on DJ came on around 8pm, I was definitely caught off guard, but it added to the energy. My only issue was the waiting system. Putting your name on a list while people monopolize the bar isn't ideal, but we made the most of it. We were quoted a 30-minute wait and did have to apply a little pressure to finally get seated. While waiting, I grabbed margaritas at the bar, and wow--the bartenders are extremely talented. They freshly squeezed the limes and handcrafted each drink. Very professional, and honestly the best margaritas I've had in the States. The food was rockstar-level, and the menu is very price-friendly. One thing to note: you have to order everything at once, so keep that in mind. Once the food hits the table, you likely won't see your server again until the bill. That said, the ceviche was top-tier, and the Korean beef bowl was splendid. Do not skip the plantains with the cilantro sauce on the side you won't be disappointed! Overall, this is a great date-night spot. Expect a wait, but it's well worth it.
3,5 Stars Bartaco is cute little spot, you fill out your order on a paper sheet that the server picks up. I ordered the falafel taco, cauliflower taco, and esquites. The falafel taco was a O/5 for me. The menu said it would be spice but the spice felt completely random and didn't complement or enhance other flavors. The falafel were also pretty dry. Would not eat this again. The cauliflower taco was much better, 3.5/5. It came with roasted cauliflower and pomegranate seeds. Was solid but not the most exciting. The esquites never came
I wanted to give tacos a chance in Boston so stopped over here to grab a few. Unfortunately, they were a bit underwhelming both in flavor and portion size and the salsa tasted oddly vinegar-y when I was there. In fairness, it's tough to find good tacos on the east coast. However, the drinks are good and the service was friendly and attentive!
Really good tacos. Ordering system was very strange. But moderately effective for a large group. I got a bunch of tacos
Just as yummy as the OG location near my home town! Bartaco is so well priced for the quality of food. It is thoughtful and flavorful and super impressive for a chain Mexican spot. Prices are totally affordable. I personally love the kids plate. I'm simple and it's a ton of food for under $10. We got that and a few other tacos, bowls and apps to share. The corn wheels are literally straight out of heaven. Drinks are yummy. I had the punch and it was only $10 and was not disappointing at all. I run a beverage Instagram and that drink was high quality! We did have a few issues. Our original waitress wasn't super helpful and was kind of a wet noodle. They also said they had $8 margaritas on rainy days, and we were told only at the bar. It didn't say that at all in the promo online. The ambiance is so nice here. It looks so high end and is very seaport! Overall another great experience. I'll def be back now that the commuter line brings you right to the seaport area!
I love when I find a good (decent by CA standards) Mexican food spot in Boston! I especially liked the chips and guac because they do taco shells instead of chips and I think it helps so much with portion control because usually you fill up so much on the chips that you're full by the time you're ordering your entree. There was also this incredible black pepper? salsa that I could not get enough of. I also had the sesame ribeye, the baja fish, and the chicken verde tacos and I really liked all, particularly the fish. Quite frankly, if I were to change anything I would just opt for the carne asada instead of the sesame ribeye because it looked more appealing when my roommate ordered it, but I liked this bulgogi-ish take on tacos nonetheless. I do want to shoutout Simon's service at the bar. He was so personable and fun and truly made it a fun dining experience for us. Drinks were also all very good, even tequila soda's that usually leave a lot of room for mistake.
The food was so good I forgot to take photos! Favorite here is the Baja fish taco- deep fried and crispy, served with some slaw in a soft corn tortilla shell. Servers magically appear when the "need help" card is placed on the table, and multiple different people show up to assist too. Great casual dining in the seaport area and prices are fairly reasonable.
Nice taco spot. Got the rice bowl with chicken.. overall the bowl was dry. Portion size was OK for the price. Decent service and good ambience

TACO 'BOUT A PARTY. OMG. That's exactly how it felt when we came to Bartaco. You would think since Bartaco is a franchise and is modernized, it would lose its authenticity in taste. In fact, it's blend with modernization and authenticity has made Bartaco a hit! CHIPS: We ordered the chips with the guac, salsa verde, and roja. Nothing really stuck out, except the guac and the chip. I say chip because they serve hard-shelled individual round tortillas, that are perfect for individual serving sizes. TACOS: Baja Fish, I've never been a fan of battered, fried fish, but Bartaco does this right. Why? They batter their fish in a spicy blended tempura batter and fry it to perfection. The result? Perfectly flaky fish with a delicate crunch to it. Chicken Chorizo, this was not as good as what I hoped it would be. The Chicken Chorizo is flavored by the tomatillo avocado sauce that drizzles this. Other than that, the chicken chorizo was a bit dry and bland. Carne Asada, SO MUCH FLAVOR and tenderness to the steak. DRINKS: Reviver, if you are a fan of cold-pressed juices, the Reviver is PERFECT. It is so refreshing and deadly, you won't even know you're drinking alcohol! The Reviver is mixed with gin, cucumber, mint, a hint of mango and lime-- the perfect summer drink! read more

I've been to bartaco multiple times now and it does not disappoint! Unfortunately, they don't take reservations but they do have an online waitlist you can add your name to. They get quite busy especially during the evenings so I recommend checking the wait time prior to going in. I got the pork belly, baja fish, and sesame rib eye tacos. Each taco is full of flavor and has its own kick to it. Their menu offers a wide selection of drinks for a reasonable price. read more
Great food, great ambiance. I highly recommend the pork belly tacos and churros for dessert. If you're getting the chili lime shrimp, beware if you're sensitive to spice, those were no joke. The servers were super nice, my only complaint would be at times our table felt a bit neglected and we ended up being in the restaurant for a super long time. Nonetheless, I would return! read more

Came here as a group of four right when it opened on a Saturday at 11am and we were the first ones there. The space is large and there's all sorts of seating options. We shared an order of plantains and each ordered three tacos for ourselves. I ordered the Tuna Tatako, Pork Belly, and Carnitas tacos on lettuce (lettuce is 25 cents extra, which doesn't make much sense to me but I did it for dietary reasons...). My favorite was definitely the pork belly. While I wasn't exactly full when we left, it was a good experience. The service was friendly and one of the managers was making the rounds and thanking everyone for coming, which was nice. I'd definitely come back again! read more

I love bar taco. The food flavor is always so delicious. They have a seamles process where you order and pay for your food on your phone. I typically get a chicken bowl or chicken tacos. This time I was doing low carbs so went with chicken tacos and substituted tortillas for lettuce. read more

Just average food and sub-average customer service. We ordered the fish, chili-lime shrimp and mushroom tacos. Was the food excellent, definitely not. Was the food bad, no. Fish was crispy, but bland being only paired with a little cabbage and sauce. The shrimp at least had more flavor, but was slightly over cooked. The mushroom was good, but overpowered by the sauce. As for service, it's order yourself via an app and pay through the app. There's none of the typical interaction you'd expect at a sit-down with recommendations, refill of waters, you set your own napkin and utensils, etc. COVID- wise, the manager also had his mask down when talking to his employees. read more

One of my all time favorite spots. All the tacos I tried here are great except maybe the falafel. My fav was the chicken with pineapple but they dont serve it anymore. All tacos are great including fish, shrimp, duck, and even mushroom The guacamole is another favorite but last time I came the chips were way too salty... Churros are a must for dessert - I get it every time! Overall great spot. I'd come again and again and again! read more

Love the margaritas, cucumber salad, chicken tortillas soup, and pork belly tacos. Highly recommend - there's nothing you can do wrong with on the menu. The service is excellent. The bartenders and wait staff are awesome. They make some nice conversation when they can tell you want it and back off when you don't. You can tell management really cares about the experience for guests. On my visits I've had a couple managers come over an ensure I was enjoying my food. Highly recommend for a solid meal in Boston without breaking the bank. read more

I came to Bartaco with a friend just to have a drink and pass some time on my Friday night. We sat at the Bar and spent our night talking to the Bartender named Sarah. She made our night. Sarah, you enhanced our visit with your outstanding service and wonderful personality. Your humor and warmth made the experience unforgettable. We can't wait to return for more drinks, more tacos, and more conversations with Sarah. read more

On the weekend, if you want to find a place to gather with friends to relax after a tiring week, this is the place for you. Me and my friend came here to eat tacos last Friday and I love it so much. In here, we had to scan the code to get to the restaurant website, order and paid +18% tips by ourselves because of the few staffs, . This is my second time trying tacos and I love it. Highly recommend!!! read more

This is definitely one of my all-time favorite taco spots. A 1-2hr wait is expected but so worth it! Their tacos are experimental but all so good. My favorite was the pork belly taco- IT WAS PERFECTION. You can't really go wrong with any of them. read more

Already thinking about my next visit. FOOD: I ordered the baja fish and crispy oyster tacos and I literally can NOT look back. Probs hands down the best fish and crispy oyster tacos I've ever had. They came out fresh and not soggy. Plus, the oysters were tender and not tough! DRINKS: I ordered the Pineapple Express and it's so refreshing especially on a hot summer day. It was also perfectly strong enough to taste the alcohol without it being overpowering. I was tempted to order a second glass tbh. SERVICE: It is waitlist only, and our party was a tad bit late. The host at first gave off bad (and annoyed) vibes, but was nice enough to still fit us in. After, he called us over to our table and the vibes were all good after. read more
I'm obsessed with bartaco and the Boston location truly did not disappoint!! We came for lunch and were able to get seated right away. We were familiar with the restaurant ordering and the online aspect already but our server went over it again as a courtesy and it was super helpful. Started with chips and guac -- The guacamole tasted fresh and delicious, but I wish the large was a bigger portion though! For my tacos I ordered cauliflower, chorizo, chicken and soft shell crab!! I thought each one was delicious, especially the corn salsa on the crab. I topped some of mine off with their signature hot sauce as well. For drinks -- margs were delicious as always!! My friends wished they offered a sugared rim option but it was easy to choose my order with pictures of the drinks all online. Definitely going to return ASAP! read more
The entrance is very unassuming as it is covered by the facade of the Marriott right next door. You walk in and the place is packed. Luckily I was here for work and came in by myself because there was only one seat open at the bar. If you've ever had dim sum before, the ordering process is similar. You view the items on the menu, they have a separate sheet you fill out with your name and what you want from the menu. Easy peezy! I love Mexican food so this was a great choice for me. The choices weren't authentic but I want picky. I ordered a fish, duck, carnitas and pork belly taco. They were very tasty and cooked well. The flavors popped on each and every bite. I just wished the duck and carnitas tacos weren't so damn greasy. I also ordered an Asian slaw on the side and capped it with a freshly squeezed concoction of ginger and grapefruit. If you're looking for a great spot in he seaport district, check 'em out. You won't be disappointed. read more
Bartaco is a fantastic taco chain with a cute coastal New England vibe. They have outdoor seating in the summer which is great. Each person orders individually on their phone, which is a great method when going out with friends to avoid splitting checks. It also allows you to order multiple rounds which is fun. Drinks are also delicious, with rotating drinks of the month. read more

Decent price point for tacos generally and great in the Seaport area with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Love how additional service is indicated with a card :) Of the sesame ribeye, pork belly, and baja fish tacos, only the fish taco was particularly good IMO. The ribeye was saccharine and tougher than expected, while the pork belly was overly crisp, though it had a nice mouthfeel. The fish though was fantastic! Light and just crispy enough, with a great hit of acid from the lime and the accompanying sauce. read more

I'm not sure when this happened but bartaco doesn't seem to be the same anymore! I used to visit this spot pretty often a few years ago but stopped because it had become so popular and always required a long wait. Recently I was in the area and there was a quick 10 minute wait so I was excited to dine here again. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is still great. The interior is cozy comfy but elegant. Good spot for a date, girls night, maybe a catch up with an old friend. The workers are friendly and kind and the food comes out very quickly. Naturally, the price has increased since the previous years I visited. It's actually become quite pricey while the portions remained relatively small. My old go-tos were always the fish taco and pork belly tacos. They still taste great but I didn't get the same wow factor i used to. I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Maybe other spots have also elevated over the years to be as comparable to bartaco, maybe it was the increase in price that decreased the cost-value ratio for me. The food is definitely still good and tasty, maybe just not as how i previously remembered it. I think the ambiance of this restaurant plays a great factor into what makes bartaco great. overall, still a good spot to visit! read more

I finally got to give this place another try. I have been eagerly waiting to come back and was very happy I did. What I do have to say is, that if you have experienced something like what I previously had... go on a Mon-Wed night to avoid any unnecessary issues. When I went it was an hour before last call which was perfect. We don't usually take long to eat so we still finished before the restaurant closed. The food was very good and service was a lot better. I'm very easy and don't always require much attention, but the server (which I actually don't even know who was our server lol) could've came to check up on us during our meal. You order and pay by QR code, and I believe just as a team everyone just runs the food/drinks. Overall, I'm happy with the outcome. I know we came in an hour before last call and so everyone is probably trying to finish their sidework and close outs so I don't blame them. read more

solid taco place especially for boston. fish taco and pork belly were our favorites. the sesame galbi and duck had the flavor but were both on the dry side. duck birria was cheesy, but was a miss otherwise. Good amount of wait ( we went sunday afternoon, around 2:30). looks like you can waitlist on their website. the wait was about 20 min, and we sat at the bar and ordered chips (guac, verdes, roja combo is the best). you can use the sauce on the tacos later since you get a decent amount. chips are excellent. tacos are about 3-3.5 each, so a bit expensive, but consider the quality of the ingredients they use. not every taco place has roasted duck to offer. they will give you extra tortilla chips free of charge. definitely a cute place to visit, bustling and great for drinks with friends I would go again if i was in a mood for tacos and was near the area. its a good place to take people but i dont think id crave this place specifically read more
The vibes of this place was amazing. Definitely made my boyfriend and I feel like we were not far from a dock. The seats here were comfortable and their ordering system was very convenient. In fact, my boyfriend absolutely loved that we could order on your phone since its hard to get a server's attention. Okay, on to the real stuff, food: Pork belly tacos were my absolute favorite. It had a really great fatty + crunch balance and the umami really came out in this taco. My boyfriend's favorite was the pork carnitas. I had a bite and it definitely was tender and well made. Other great choices we had: duck!!!, shrimp, oysters, and the street corn (tasted great and amazing price) One thing that wasn't so great: sesame ribeye. The kimchi in this dish really didn't do it and the ribeye just tasted like shaved beef from a philly cheese steak. Honestly, maybe if they grilled the kimchi and added a bit more soy sauce + sugar in the meat, it would've definitely elevated the taco. Or even get a different kind of kimchi. Overall, I really liked this place and get anything but the sesame ribeye taco next time :) read more

First off, the staff here is phenomenal. Friendly, attentive and just downright pleasant. This place is massive inside. Plenty of seating, love the charm. A lot of wood, a lot of relaxation. I went for lunch and just sat at the bar. Service was quick and honestly was able to sit and eat and be out in around 30 mins. The tacos are great. I tried the Baja, crunchy shrimp and the chicken Barbacoa. All were so good. There's hot sauces on the table but honestly you don't need them. Tacos are flavorful enough. Best part of this place is the price. It's affordable for each taco and beats the overpriced stuff around the area. Definitely a new fav and glad this place opened! read more

the spiced chicken verde tacos were my favorite! the other tacos were good. overall, the flavors were great, but the portions were on the smaller size for the price. the ordering system was also a learning curve since it was our first time there. i would def recommend, but am not eager to go back and dine there again. read more
Wow great food and service, These tacos are bomb! THEIR PORTOBELLO TACOS ARE MY FAVORITE TACOS EVER. One time I came and tried every single taco and it was amazing. All of it is so delicious. The cocktails are also amazing. This is a great place for a date, great atmosphere, and service. Additionally, I love the menus because you can choose how many of each tacos you want so you can satisfy yourself with the variety they offer. Lastly, the chips and salsa are yum. You order one type of type and it's unlimited chips that are so addictive. read more
