Great vibes to stroll through the area. Between 2 people, tried the following tacos: pork belly, ribeye, chicken, fish, and shrimp. Best 2: pork and chicken. Also had a pomegranate mojito (amazing) and caipirinha sanguina (strong). Churros overcooked and hollow. Tacos were small so needed to pack a bigger punch. Imagine if Renovation Hardware started a taco stand, and you would be pretty close to what's happening here. BT produces tacos and other snackables with an aesthetic that can only be described as "upscale pacific beach." Look closely, and you'll find some Asian influence in the menu. They have a nifty system where you order small plates from your phone and they magically appear. Wife and I went to the Inman Park location, smashed up in the like, hippest area ever alongside Barcelona, Beetlecat, Fritti, and others. We started with the guacamole, which came out with a few tostada shells to break up and scoop. Guacamole was good quality, but better alongside a salty margarita. The marg was elevated and restrained, a little less sweet that you would find when cheapo triple sec is used. We tore into the tacos, and found them to be sporting good quality meat, with enjoyment greatly enhanced by the three bottles of house sauce at the table. I like the red myself. The energy was really the best part, though. The dining room was packed at 6:30 on a Sunday, with happy conversation all around and solid music playing. It takes a lot to get a babysitter and explore the city these days, so we plan our nights like this. Worth the visit. read more

I LOVE bartaco! Everything about it...love love love! For starters, their ordering system is very unique. Order on the app, and the food is brought to the table. It's wonderful. The staff is super nice and helpful. They seem happy to be at work which of course makes the dining experience so much better. Their menu items are also pretty amazing. I'm not a big oyster fan, but their oyster taco...no words other than simply delish! I also really like their guacamole. It's super easy to get carried away in there, so come ready to splurge. Parking is readily available, but I'd suggest parking directly across the street in the deck. Parking was free there. read more

Food and ambiance receives a full 3 stars. Service and everything else, receives 0 from me. I decided to come check out this location on Thursday afternoon, after a long workday and noted it was pretty slow; however service was non-existent. I understand us patrons do everything via phone, however, sitting for 15 minutes and more without so much as a glass of water while food is being prepared is a no bueno. I had to flag down a random employee that happened to be walking past my table, to ask for a glass of water and napkins so I could clean my table, as my table was dirty and the utensils provided were dirty. Anywho, I ordered my usual (I typically frequent the Marietta location, which is my fave BarTaco location), 2 oyster, 2 duck, and 2 chicken, as well as a spicy margarita. Everything came out quickly and was yummy per usual (hence 3 stars). I enjoyed the patio seating as it was really warm and sunny out, so I was able to chill and relax before the after work crowd showed up. I haven't been to Bartaco in years. This is my first time at this location. My friend and I decided to go after we had yoga because it was down the street. As soon as we came in, we were greeted by a nice young lady. We got to our table and she explained there's a QR code with the menu and you can place your order with that. Or you can ask for a menu and have a waiter handle the order (although they technically just give you "forms" that you fill out.) We used the QR code. It took us a couple tries because it wasn't saving either of our credit card information for some reason. But the food was great! Everything came out so fast. I kid you not it felt like I placed the order and then within 10 minutes everything was starting to come out. We both had spicy margaritas, which were fantastic. We started out with the trio dip, which was two salsas (verde and roja) and guacamole. All really good! I really like the salsa roja. It's a little spicy which I loved. I had three tacos. I had pork belly, sesame ribeye, and chicken verde. All so flavorful. I think my favorite was the sesame ribeye! And of course we had churros for dessert. Really good! I've been here a few times, but last nights experience wasn't as stellar. We waited an incredibly long time from when we ordered our food on our phone (you don't have servers) to the time it was brought to the table. In terms of the food, the tortilla on the chicken verde taco was way overdone, making it tough to chew. The tuna taco was OK, a little messy to eat because it's on a lettuce wrap. Papaya salad was cold/refreshing while sitting outside, but overall a little bland. We did enjoy the plantains though! They (and the sauce they serve with them) are consistently excellent. Lastly, because you don't have servers, you are left with a pitcher of room temp water to use throughout the meal. Sitting outside in the ATL summer heat, I wish it had some ice. read more

This is always a comeback spot. Mondays weren't too pack we sat quickly by Zack. You have to scan the QR code to place your orders it's cashless. I guess it's updated now where you can eat and leave without closing your tab. Their system will automatically close you out but add an automatic 18% gratuity just FYI. Tacos never failed us! I was craving tacos all week and had bartaco bookmarked for some time and decided that today was the day! bartaco is located in the heart of Inman Park a neighborhood nestled very close to Ponce City Market. Parking may be trickiy, but there is the Inman Park public parking garage next to MF Sushi that's just a few blocks down the street if street parking isn't available. The restaurant is huge and very nicely and brightly decorated. There is plenty of outdoor seating that hugs along the restaurant with heat lamps for the chillier days to keep you toasty. If not, there are also plenty of seating indoor including booths, tables, and seats at the bar. Of course, I can imagine this placed being packed during peak times, however a good place to come hang out with a large group of people. bartaco's system is quite interesting. You scan the QR code that's on each table and there's a way to pay for your meal or share the tab with someone else. Very little human interaction for those who want to have a more introverted experience! You put in you order, pay, and someone will bring you your food right now. The menu had an assortment of tacos listed. It's a fusion of Americanized Mexican with a dash of Asian fusion type of taco joint. All the tacos are bite-sized with good flavor in each. We ended up trying the following tacos listed from most to least favorited (in my opinion): - Duck birria - Baja fish - Glazed pork belly - Seared chorizo - Chili lime shrimp (I'm not the biggest shrimp fan, so this may be biased!) We also had the Mexican street corn on the cob that is brushed with mayo and sprinkled with cotija cheese and cayenne pepper. Very yummy. They also have the off the cob version with the same ingredients for a more convenient (but less fun) eating experience. I also saw they have interesting additional toppings for your tacos including cucumber salad, kimchi, escabeche (picked veggies), and pineapples. Like I mentioned earlier, these are bite-sized tacos (as in three bites and done), so I would definitely try a bit of everything if you're super hungry. Okay, I get the hype with bartaco now. Tacos are not authentic at all, but the flavors are interesting and creative. We ordered these tacos: -Tuna Tatako (Ancho-crusted seared tuna and asian slaw in a lettuce wrap): The tuna is delicious, although there are only 2 small pieces. -Crispy Rock Shrimp (Masa-crusted crispy rock shrimp with a remoulade sauce and a parsley slaw): Another one of my favorites, but the shrimp is so tiny! -Carne Asada: Not the most authentic carne asada but very tasty. -Falafel: This came with a tzatziki sauce and a spicy sauce. Really good, but quite spicier than I expected. -Glazed Pork Belly: This was one of the most hyped tacos but it fell short for us because the sauce was almost sweet or barbecue-like. -Chicken Chorizo: I wasn't a fan of this one! The texture of the chicken chorizo was very dry and crumbly. The flavor also wasn't as good as the other tacos. My favorites for sure were the Tuna Tatako and the Crispy Rock Shrimp. I liked how the tuna taco was lighter and fresh, while the shrimp taco was more rich with a crispy batter and a creamy sauce. I also enjoyed the Carne Asada and Falafel tacos. I would skip the Pork Belly (although a lot of people love this, just my personal opinion!) and the Chicken Chorizo. They have a selection of 12 different tacos. They are either $2.50 or $3.50, depending on the taco. Keep in mind though that these tacos are SMALL. Tacos in general are small, but these are more like mini tacos. The price seems pretty cheap, until you see how small they are. I saw most people recommending 3-4 tacos per person, but I would recommend 4-5 tacos per person! Even 6 if you are a big eater. These can be easily eaten in 2 bites, even 1 if you are a savage. I think 3 tacos is more of a snack/light meal. We also ordered the chips and guac. The guac here is fantastic. No under seasoned guac here. It was creamy but with some acidic brightness. The chips also come as a whole tortilla. So you can break off the chips yourself. For a drink, I ordered the Mojito Tinto, which was a mojito with spiced sangria. The server told me this was a sweeter drink, but I actually found it hardly sweet at all. I really enjoyed it however. Service was great! We came on a Wednesday night, and it was already super crowded. I don't even want to know how crowded it gets on a weekend. However, there were a few empty tables since this place is pretty big. We wanted to change tables, and they accommodated our request and cleaned up another table for us. It was our first time, so the server explained how it works. There is a note pad with the menu on it, and you take a pencil and fill out how many you want of each option. The server than reads out what you ordered. There is also a stand on the table to put a card in it if you need help or have any questions. Loved this experience! The interior is casual, yet very nice. Service was quick and attentive, although our food took a while to come out. I don't blame them though, because it was pretty packed. It has worked 20% of the time....maybe I don't know if it's a savings in personel or if it's just that the owner invested in the QR system and it's not going away. But super frustrating. Orders always come mixed up or wrong. Or dbl orders. Today I finished my meal before my daughter got hers. It's all mixed up. Again. Service and staffs attempt to make it right is awesome. I had heard about Bartaco through various friends and Atlanta connections so I was excited to finally get the chance to visit. The tacos were tiny, which is in itself fine if they were tasty - but the tacos were very lacking in flavor. The Baja fish tacos was the saddest thing I had ever seen. The fish was tiny and mostly breading, and the slaw was also sparse and tasteless. The other tacos are heavily reliant on its sauce for flavor but the sauce to filling ratio was off. It almost felt like I was eating a sauce taco with filling on the side. The service was actually what knocked my rating down from a 3 stars to 2 stars. The bartender wasn't particularly friendly - she was was hard to get a hold of even though the bar wasn't particularly busier than normal. The staff member delivering orders was also extremely impatient. She would practically yell the order at you and if you didn't respond immediately, she'd proceed to shout it at you before tossing the tray on the table before leaving the table immediately. Because we weren't able to ask her questions, we had to flag down another staff member to ask about orders that never made it to our table. Overall, just a disappointing experience. read more

I've been to bartaco plenty of times, but took my mom for the first time last Saturday. When we arrived, the hostess said it would be about a 30 minute wait. Since my mom had never been to Inman Park, we walked the block and I showed her some other businesses in the area. When we came back, we stood for about 10 minutes and got a text that our table was ready. We were seated near the patio and with COVID, everything is touchless. A server came and dropped off two glasses and a carafe of water. They told us to place the card on the table topper if we needed service and a server would stop by. So we scanned the QR code on the table and ordered. We got guacamole, margaritas, empanadas, tacos (fish, chicken verde, and brisket), a side of street corn, and a side of pineapples. The food and drinks came out shortly after we ordered and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS as always! I love the fact that you could order on your own time; that made it super easy and fool-proof. This was a whole new weird experience, and unfortunately on the second date with a woman I really liked. First, when we got there the place was 1/2 empty but we were told it would be a 20-minute wait. Being the second date, I just played along to get along to avoid any hiccups. Go to the bar, order two very overpriced drinks, and then finally get seated. No option where to sit, so we're at this table in the middle of the floor. Next, THERE IS NO MENU! Told we have to scan a F*ING QR Code, download some app, give your email address, wait for a text with an authentication code, sign back into email, follow the link....blah blah...WTF! This place is apparently targeting the 15-year-old social media crowd. So after starting this out and running into one more sign-up after another, albeit after about 15 MINUTES, finally flag someone down and get an actual menu that is the size of a birthday card and the print is like a size 4 font, and the place is dark. AGAIN... the second date, didn't want any ruffles, any other time I would have walked out LONG before. Order the food. Got the cucumber salad, duck barria, pineapple w/tajin, kimchi, pork belly, chips, guacamole, ribeye taco, and key lime. It was all very good, except the pineapple was just a few pieces of pineapple with a minuscule amount of tajin sprinkled on it (the biggest rip-off amongst all of the overpriced everything). The food tasted great. But the portions were pretty small, it was definitely VERY OVERPRICED! And outside of that, the actual 'restaurant experience', the 'service', was HORRIBLE!!! Let me repeat...HORRIBLE!!! Bartacos - yes please! My friend who lives in Atlanta took me here for lunch. This place is super cute and has great food. You scan the menu and order from their website. It's a bit tricky as my friend ordered and missed a few items, guess we are all still getting use to this new system and way of ordering. I got the fish taco, the steak sesame and the tuna taco, she got the tuna bowl and got some guac and chips and plantains to share. We both got a drink but mine didn't go through and she accidentally got me a kids fish taco. It was still good but didn't have any of the onions or cilantro you normally get. I love bartaco. Almost everything is gluten free and there are many vegetarian options. The food is delicious. I like the duck and the cauliflower. The flavors are delicate and divine. They do not take cash. You order from their site. It's not a perfect system and it's very hard for some of our older friends who like menus. They are perpetually understaffed. It's really tough. I do not recommend it if you are on a schedule. Their takeaway is great, but do not be in a hurry to pick up. I've been to Bar Taco quite a few times but this time I brought my date who had never been before. We decided to go on St Patty's Day so it was a bit wet and rainy but that didn't stop people from being out. Bar Taco wasn't packed but it definitely wasn't empty either. Because of this, we decided to sit at the bar. I'm always intrigued with the ambiance at Bar Taco. To me it gives you a sunny boat like vibe every time (maybe it's me). The bartenders at the bar were extremely nice and easy to talk to also. To start we both ordered drinks. I had the bartaco margarita ($12.50) which taste like your normal margarita and my date had the an Old Thymer ($12.50) without the orange juice. The bartender made a remix to accommodate her being allergic to oranges. He replaced it with pineapple juice which was extremely considerate of him. Both drinks were good. Mine pretty was your typical margarita that you can find at any happy hour but to see them use fresh fruit did something to my spirit lol. The remix of the old thymer might be better than the original. The pineapple juice brought a sweeter taste which blended well with the alcohol. For the entree I ordered 2 Chile Lime Shrimp Tacos ($3.50 each), a Spiced Chicken Verde Taco ($2.50 each) and a Chile Lime Shrimp Rice Bowl ($9.50). My date also had the same tacos but 2 of each with street corn in a bowl ($4.75). I also decided to grab some chips and guacamole ($6.00) as a quick appetizer. I've always been a fan of the guacamole from Bar Taco. It's been my favorite however, even tho it was extremely fresh, it lacked that flavor I'm accustomed to tasting. Started with chips and quac as well as salsa verde which taste very fresh. Enjoyed the duck bowl($8) which comes with pulled roasted duck, grilled onions and peppers, and rice. Others enjoyed chicken tacos, fish tacos, and duck tacos. Skip the cauliflower tacos. Price ranges $3-4. Churros are delicious and come with chocolate dipping sauce. You can also choose your wine for the sangria to make it your own! Skinny margaritas are delicious here but they take a very long time for service. Drink service in general was just incredibly slow hence the four stars. Food comes out pretty quickly after it's ordered. They don't take reservations and the place fills up quickly so definitely try and get there 20-30 minutes before you're ready to eat. There is some bar space but it fills up quickly. Love this place, but lately the food hasn't been the best. Ordered 5 fish tacos and had to sent them back as they were cold and fried hard. The second batch came out and still fried really hard. Grilled shrimp taco was fishy smelling.. Manager asked how was it and I let her know this exact complaint and she just said ok and walked off. Shrugs read more

December 2020 I have one big issue with this restaurant, and it's portion size.... So my good friend invited me here for lunch one day and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick seating and fast service. Touchless ordering is REQUIRED, as this is a CASHLESS restaurant. It felt very modern and super clean. We ordered the guacamole and chips, charred corn, a variety of tacos, and churros for dessert. The picture that I have attached shows that the guacamole scoop was comparable to the size of my car key, but for full price. The tacos were definitely on the smallest end of street tacos. They are also not double layered and about the size of a palm. I received one full ear of corn. Everything was cooked well, seasoned well, and came out relatively quickly. Besides the churros though, everything was mini sized and I definitely had to eat somewhere else right afterwards. Unique Tacos Flavors Want to try some unique taco combos? Bartaco has so many choices for tapas sized tacos. We ordered the redfish, cauliflower, falafel, roasted duck and Baja fish. Add a side of corn for another tasty bite. The in-house menu does not list the flavor combinations, so either look at the menu on yelp or ask your server for help. The duck taco is seasoned with a delicious tamarind sauce. The falafel has a tzatziki sauce. The Baja Fish has a chipotle slaw. The restaurant is such a cute blend of SoCal and Brazilian beach themed designs. Fun to sit outside near the fireplace with family on a cool October evening with family...and they validate your garage parking.
