There are a good number of reasons why I love this gym but I will give only three for the sake of brevity: 1) Skill development: Yes. We go to the gym and work out to get in shape but what else should we get out if it? I know at other gyms I would go, shut my mind off, and be a robot for an hour or two. The coaches here engage and encourage in a way that makes gym goers competent athletes. I've developed strength and technique here that I can take and use anywhere. And yes, you will look better naked. 2) Coaches: Again, this isn't the type of gym where you go in, blank out, and drive home alone drinking a protein shake. The coaches, JJ, Jess, and Amanda, know every athlete's name and physical abilities. And this gym goes beyond just working out. JJ and the others are constantly promoting and creating events and contests to encourage athletes to progress in the most fun and community building way possible. We just had a "Paleo Challenge" where winners won a free month of classes! 3) Community: Friends are easily found here. You will find encouragement from not only the coaches but the person next to you. You will find yourself cheering people on and clapping and yelling along with the other athletes. Do not hesitate to try this out. I believe a free trial class is held every Saturday. You will get your butt kicked, but you'll come back for more. And again, you will look better naked.

We've both been on an exercise kick recently and she ensured me that Sproing was an excellent workout. During the first of my two workouts of the weekend, I found myself trying to adjust to the machine. It's a cross between a treadmill and a mattress. While the floor of the machine took a little getting used to, I was also facing backwards and strapped in, which made the whole thing a little odd at first. We sprinted, worked our core, did pushups, and used weights. It was a good, high impact workout that centered around interval training. Once I had a feel for the place, my second workout was even better. Cullen was an awesome instructor and he really kept us motivated, encouraging us to push ourselves until the last second. We could see if we were heeding to his advice by watching the big screens in the studio that showed us in real time how we were doing, based on our heart rate monitors. I got a great sweat in over that weekend thanks to the instructors and I found the desk staff to be very welcoming and helpful. The space is clean and new, the bathrooms are spotless and very "homey", and the equipment is sanitized regularly. This is a unique workout for sure and it can be tailored to your fitness level. Try it out if you have time.

Filled with enthusiasm and energy, the sproing fitness instructor definitely motivated each and every one of us to work hard and push ourselves to get the most out of the workout. A heart rate monitor will be attached to an elastic band that you strap around your waist. There is a screen that shows how each individual's % max heart rate which essentially shows how hard you're working out. You are attached to the sproing machine with a Velcro strap that you wrap around your waist and you do exercises on a soft, cushioned surface. The idea of sproing is to do running based high intensity interval training (HIIT) - 20 seconds of work intervals with 10 seconds of rest intervals. Each class is 45 minutes where it's 30 minutes of HIIT. At the end of the class, you get emailed a summary of your workout results which shows how many calories you burned. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Sure, it may feel like your body will give up on you and you'll feel really sore after..but it hurts so good. With an incredible staff + intense but fun workout, I highly, highly recommend sproing fitness!

From the moment you walk in, it's clear they've thought through every detail. Their pricing is surprisingly competitive, especially if you're looking for an unlimited membership. Considering everything that's included, it's one of the best values I've found in boutique fitness. The facilities are exceptional. Yoga mats, towels, and cycling shoes are all provided at no additional cost, which makes showing up for class effortless. The studio is always clean, modern, and well maintained, creating an environment where you can focus entirely on your workout. What truly makes Studio Three stand out is the incredible team of instructors. Sayre, Stu, Katie Lee, Danielle, and Jacqueline consistently deliver challenging, motivating, and thoughtfully programmed classes. Every coach brings a unique style, but they all share the ability to push you while making every workout enjoyable. Let's also not forget the studio management team, Julia, and the amazing front desk associates. Emily always remembers me when I visit, and she truly makes everyone feel at home. After visiting boutique fitness studios across the country for the last decade, I can honestly say Studio Three has set the standard. Between the outstanding instructors, beautiful facilities, convenient amenities, and excellent membership options, it's an easy five-star experience. I recommend it to anyone looking for the best fitness studio in Chicago.
