My home remodel contractor sub-contracted the installation of a garage door into my back room off my garden to Barron Garage Doors. Once the frame was ready, Jim and Mike arrived on time and completed the installation professionally and efficiently. I was/am completely satisfied. As with any project, a couple of "test" holes were made into the ceiling as they located the proper spots to anchor the rails. Without thinking about it, I went ahead and spackled the holes, sanded them and painted them with ceiling paint over the weekend... and included an 'oh by the way' mention of it in an email reply to my contractor who was checking in on my satisfaction. A few days later, I received a little note in the mail from Jim Barron that read simply, "I left a couple of holes when I installed your door. I heard you repaired them. One of the torsion springs on my 2-car garage door broke on Monday. I did some research and came across Barron Garage Doors. I called them on Tuesday, and we were able to schedule the spring replacement for the next afternoon. Total cost was $158.78 (including tax) which half the cost of another company I got a quote from a few months ago. He was a little bit late for our appointment, but nothing to complain about. Here's what you get with Barron: Honest, affordable, and fast service. I called on a Saturday and left a message, and Jim called back within an hour. He was able to determine the problem in about a minute and was at my house in less than an hour. He replaced both coils and did a general maintenance on the rest of the opener and it was as good as new. Jim's truck says over 7400 jobs done on it and I'm not surprised. It also says he's a marine! Our garage was hit by a car Monday, and our two vehicles inside were trapped as the crumpled old door would not open. Jim happened to be working in our neighborhood on Monday, so he ran over to give me a price. He called his supplier immediately after I picked out a new door to ensure it would be included with their Tuesday delivery. On Wednesday they arrived right on time and did amazing work. The price was about half what I have seen out there, and we were desperate ( easily could have been taken advantage of). Instead Jim was helpful, thoughtful and honest. Recommended to me by a co-worker who was also very happy with their service. I needed a garage door spring replacement. I got a very quick appointment whereas other companies I contacted were a week out from even being able to give me a quote. Barron staff showed up on time (15 min early in fact). Right before they arrived we discovered our second garage door also had broken springs. Barron was able to do both doors in one visit. I needed a broken cable replaced on my garage door. Jim and Mike came out the next morning exactly when they said they would. They replaced the cable, lubricated, adjusted, and tightened all the bolts on door. Actually, they lubricated and tightened my other door as well. Great service, at a great price. I called Barron Garage from a recommendation at work since the garage repair company in mill creek that was suppose to do the work never showed up or even have the decency to call. That's what happens when a company subcontracts the garage technicians. Actually they did me a huge favor since I was referred to Jim. He showed up half an hour then expected. Him and his son did an excellent job converting the Wayne dalton torque master plus to a torsion spring system. They were fast and was half the price! I was so impressed by Barron Garage. They came in, and in 15 minutes fixed the items that were plagueing us for 10 years. We have had other garage door services come and none of them knew how to fix the issues such as the remote control only working in warm weather, or getting the garage light to work. Barron was able to fix these issues, easily, in just a few minutes. And they didn't try to sell me extra parts or services, in fact they gave me a light bulb since I didn't have the right type. Wow, thier religous, 'we treat you right" ad didn't come through at all. The guy on the phone was unprofessional, condensending, and not helpful. He used technical terms and finally said they do not work on our old-type garage door. He dismissively said, when asked, that he didn't know anyone that could help us, but that he could put in a new door for us "if we'd like". No thanks Barron, we just want new springs. In working with the owner, I was trying to get him to come in the late afternoon during the week, so I wouldn't have to take too much time off from work. Surprisingly, Jim and Mike were willing to come on a Saturday, my day off. I agree, these guys (Jim and Mike) are the BEST. The cable broke on my garage door. I was upset as I thought it would be stuck that way overnight. However we managed to get the door closed on our own. I had called Barron Garage Doors and left a message. Barron called me back the same day I called, I was in the middle of another call. Jim said he would call me back, which he did, when he said he would. Because we had got the door down, and secured, it was something we could deal with the next day (AM). They showed up on time, took a look, knew what happened, how it happened and how to fix it. And Jim was upfront as to cost. No hidden add ons when I got the invoice. In addition, the door now closes way better/tighter than originally (a plus for sure). Their pricing is fair and reasonable, they are on time, professional and they are really nice guys. We had an appointment scheduled this morning at 9am. I called at 9:15 to make sure someone was coming out and the owner said that he "called the number". I asked him what number and for what. He had called my husbands phone (who is out of town) to make sure the appointment was confirmed. I said it was confirmed, that I was waiting for him, and when I asked when he would show up he said that he couldn't do it and HUNG UP ON ME. How unprofessional! I will tell everyone that I know that if you decide to move forward with using them don't count on them showing up for their scheduled appointment. Professional they are not. read more
