Tech looked at the broken plastic pulley situation and said it would require disconnecting and dropping the motor and chain. Quoted me $275. Locals didn't have part, so Chamberlain sent it to me. Tech didn't need to disconnect motor and was able to install the new pulley in less than 15 minutes. Wouldn't budge on the $275 charge. BE WARNED. read more

Barron Garage Doors - Broken plastic pulley - Garage Door Services Near Me

I have used Barron Doors for years when the father, Jim, ran it. It was great. I even used when Jim and his son worked together. They were good. Now it is just the mom answering the telephones (she is a sweetheart) and the son, Mike installing. I have called an spoken to the mom a few times and texted Mike without any response. read more

This father and son business installed my garage door opener back in 2014 and did a great job at a fair price. Over the years they tuned up my garage door and repaired a few rollers. Recently, the son began running the business. The mother answers the calls and texts the son, however, the son doesn't call back timely or at all. I had a stuck car and wanted to support this small business as I have over the years, but their customer service is terrible. I called 4 times over two days and was given the run around. They lost my business forever as I doubt they would honor their warranty on workmanship or parts. read more

Mike Barron has performed repairs and updates successfully a few times on his own as well as with his father Jim before he retired. Recently things seem to have gone south for this local family buiness. Too, too bad. Mike is not able to handle the requirements previously set by the service. Whatever has caused this breach, I pray for this family to recover and once again be an active part of our local community. I would like to hire Barron Garage Doors again for maintenance and repairs, but I will wait patiently while healing and recovery happens. Peace and God bless all of you. read more

After multiple calls to Georgia and calls and texts to Mike the installer, two no-shows with no explanation except that he overslept. Totally unreliable. read more

Great guy. Totally honest can fix any garage door issue. Great value, honest and reliable.

Given a quote and made appointment to replace the weather stripping on my garage doors. No one showed up for the appointment. Called and was told they were on their way. No one showed and no one called to follow up. Called next day and got a confused older man who knew nothing about the job. read more

Friendly, reliable, great value. Have used Barron Garage Doors several times over the years: consistently positive experience. Mike replaced a broken spring this week (May 1, 2023). I made the appointment on short notice -- who plans on a broken spring? -- and they were able to accommodate. On time, friendly, professional and a great value. read more

Update to my previous review: Mr. Barron the son (Mike) is here now fixing a broken spring. He saw the problem immediately (so did I...after he pointed it out) and is currently replacing the spring. I am always happy to deal with Barron Garage doors because they 1.) know what they're doing 2.) do what they need to do quickly and efficiently 3.) seem to charge reasonable prices 4.) always do some little extra while they're here (one year Mr. Barron the dad-Jim - got up on a ladder to replace fluorescent light bulbs for me, just noticed they were out and offered to replace them) and 5.) both are cordial to deal with. Thanks very much to both of them and to Mrs. Barron who answers the phone and starts the trouble shooting herself. I really appreciate all of them. read more

Punctual and efficient. Every time we have called for service or repairs they have been able to make it out same day and the repairs have been very affordable. read more

My gararge door spring broke. I was happy that they responded quickly and they fixed the door so that it would open. But, the door squeeked, groaned and squaked when it opened. When I called to ask them about it, he was defensive and told me that they didn't do cause it. I wasn't implying that they did. I just wanted the noises gone and asked them if they could back and examine the rollers. He told me that they did not do rollers. Hmmm, a garage door repair co. that does not replace rollers. So, I had to go elsewhere to get the rollers replaced. Now my garage door is as silent as it should be. read more

I called for an estimate for replacing my garage door and/or opener, a woman answered and rattled off a bunch of info, including prices and door models. I called back a few minutes later after reviewing the models online with some follow up questions and a man answered. He was super rude, and told me to find someone else to do the job. Disappointing because they came highly recommended, but I'll be sharing with the person who recommended them and not reach out again in the future. But based on my interaction with the man it sounds like they won't care. read more

He is very honest and great worker!! Reasonable price too. I was happy about my garage door repair. read more

So got a referral from a church friend about this company seems like very good, and friendly until I call and Jim answer the phone he we very rude and first give me a high quote and later change his price, I told him that I got a referral from a friend and they got a quote and see if they can do the same price nicely he was rude and say call me back if you want that price and hang up the phone on customer, I am in the sales business myself and that is not the way treat your customer especially referral customer from Church. read more

Called them yesterday and they were able to come this afternoon and replace a broken cable in 20 minutes. Straight to the point, polite, and honest. I will recommend to all my friends. Thank you! read more

We used Barron in the past and were pleased with their service. However, when we contacted them about our recent garage door issue, we were told that our problem, if it was as we described (we looked up part names and systems so we could describe it accurately. It wasn't as if we were being vague or inaccurate), couldn't happen and would be a first for them to repair. This problem was documented online and other garage door repair companies later told us that it wasn't that uncommon. He also scoffed at our location (Lake Stevens), saying that we lived too far away, although they had come before and had never mentioned distance as a concern on those visits. We were given a nonspecific time of when they might be able to come out and at that point, with our house going on the market in a couple weeks and the obvious lack of interest in our business, we decided to move on to another company. I have no doubt that Barron does good work because I've experienced it! However, due to this rude and condescending interaction, we won't be using them again. read more

I called Jim on a Monday to replace my broken spring, and his schedule was full (a good sign), but he was able to fix it the next day, Tuesday. His son arrived to do the job, and was very professional, and done in about 35 minutes! He also tightened up a very loose chain, and checked the integrity of everything. When he was done, he said the total would be $140 plus tax, which was right around the estimate Jim had quoted...however, I have to tell everyone about a letter I received 10 days later; Jim sent me a handwritten note, saying his son had given me the wrong price - it should have been $130, and he enclosed $11 cash as a refund! This is something like a miracle nowadays - to find someone so honest! I told both of my sons about it, and they were also impressed that someone in this day and age would do that. THANK YOU Jim for your integrity & honesty!! Obviously, I HIGHLY recommend Barron Garage Doors (they did a great job)!!! read more

These guys are real pros...first of all they showed up early for their apt which worked great...I have an old heavy wood garage door and was waiting for the sales pitch to upgrade to a lighter weight new door ( which I know I should do ) Didn't happen !! Mike and Jim went right to work and identified the problem being a tangled cable and an old worn out bearing...the took the spring off and fixed the cable and I have a great functioning garage door again ! I highly recommend them ! read more

Wow! This is the second time we have used them!! They were 30 minutes early and they did a great job along with a sense of humor. They fixed the torsion springs, tuned up my door and opener and tested everything -- they were in and out in 30 minutes! Great job! Thank you again for the quick repair at a great price along with a 3 year warranty! (less than $200 including tax for 2 new springs) read more

We have used them in the past for a garage door opener and they did a great job for a low price. Was referred to them by family. When we called and asked for a door replacement, we spoke with the woman on the phone and made our order. We picked out the door and everything, and she told us they would be here the next Thursday to install it. Thursday came and we hadn't heard anything, so I gave them a call. A man answered and said they never received any such order, and was short and rude about it. I asked if we could then just make the order now if it didn't go through, and he said he would pass, and just didn't want to do our job. It would be one thing to pass on an order you didn't want to fill, I can understand that. It's another thing to say you'll do it, that you'll show up on a certain day, and then just refuse to do it entirely. Was pretty disappointed. Will not use again, and neither will the family member that referred me. read more

We just had 2 doors replaced by Barrons Garage Doors. They look great and the job was done quickly and efficiently. I drank coffee and watched them work. They know their business. The price was good. We are happy. They are busy and I believe its just the 2 of them, father and son, but they came as scheduled. They hauled all the old stuff off too. I hope they are in business for a long time to come. read more

Called this morning and they had an opening and were out within an hour and a half to replace my broken springs. They may not be big talkers, but all communication was direct and pleasant. Jim provided the quote in advance and stuck to that. Yes, they only take checks, but I still have those, so no problem with there! The only regret I have is that I was on a client call when they wrapped up, so didn't get to thank them properly for their prompt service. Thanks, Barron Garage Doors! read more

Jim and his son saved the day and the wallet!! I had a big dent in my double garage door and it was not rolling up properly. So I had got a few bids on replacing the door and it was going to be thousands$$$. I am a very handy girl and called around to get a bid on just buying a door and replacing it with my dads help. He suggested calling Barron garage doors and thought, why not. Jim and Mike came over, looked at my door, fixed the dent, re-enforced the whole door and tightened my tension springs and only charged me $145.00!!!!! They are the best choice and most honest hard working people in this line of work by far. I could not have been more pleased with their work and customer service!!! read more

The spring broke on our garage door and they came out and fixed it for us the next day. Quick and very reasonably priced.

Whoever answered the phone when I called was a complete jackass! I'm having an emergency with one of my garage door openers. It will not close no matter how hard I've tried. I called Barron Garage Doors, asking if someone would be available to come out tonight. After some back and forth, he said he could come out tomorrow Saturday morning. Then I asked what time. He asked what time would work for me. Since I have work early, I told him as early as he can make it. And if I heard it correctly on the phone, he said something along the lines of "How the hell early is that." I proceeded to give him a more exact time, 8 am. As if that's not sufficient info, he asked me if that's when I leave for work. I said I usually leave for work around 5 am instead, but I don't think he'd like to be up that early. Before I could finish my sentence to say that I can delay my work a bit and stay home until later, he spouted out "No, I'm not gonna be able to make it. You're gonna have to call somebody else. Thank you" and hung up. Oh and I almost forgot to add that at one point during our conversation, as he was giving me suggestions on fiddling with the door, this guy also told me to "ask [my] husband" to do it. I had not given him any indication that I couldn't check or try things myself, so why assume that I couldn't do it myself and that I would need a man to do it (is it because I'm a woman?)? Rude, sexist, half-ass, impatient. And that's just during the first contact over the phone. I will make sure that this experience will be related to my network so they won't have to go through the same thing while being stressed out about their garage door not working late at night. read more

These guys completely stood me up! I called them yesterday at 6pm and they initially said they could come at 1:30. I asked if there was an earlier time and he said they could do 10:30a. Great! I gave him my address etc. This morning, 10:30a passed with no truck or no phone call. I called their number (which is obviously a home number with an answering machine) and left a message wondering where they were and please call if there was a miscommunication. No call. I was hoping there was just confusion with the 1:30 slot he offered initially, but again, no truck and no phone call! By my 4th call, someone finally answered and he had some lame excuse that they repaired someone else's door with my (rare) first name. Then he chuckled and offered to do it tomorrow. WTF?! These guys might have decent prices, but I would never go with someone that I can't get ahold of (cell phone or call forwarding) again. Btw, my neighbor used them, and she was happy with the work, but thought the guy who helped her was 'grumpy'. He was actually mean enough to bring her to tears. UPDATE: The gents running the business mailed me a note apologizing for missing the appointment and said the appointment slip was lost. I believe them. I do appreciate that they took responsibility for the blunder. read more

These guys were awesome. They were so honest. My door was broken and stuck 1/2 way open. They came out within hours of calling. The price was very reasonable. I was so grateful to have the door fixed the same day. Thank you!! read more

Summery: the lowest quote of the 3 we received; father and son team; came on time, get the job done fast and professionally, old fashioned (no credit card accepted, no email quote, only by phone). Our garage door opener was dead and need to replace with a new one. I chose the top 2 from Angie's list and Barron since it is close to our house even if it didn't have many reviews there. The top 1 company came for a free estimate, he used the ipad to send me a quote with different options, the least is $1000+ ($550 for the opener plus $600 for other parts like springs since he said our door is heavy). The top 2 company came for a free estimate, they said we only need to replace the garage opener, the quote is with 3 model options form $450 to $550. Barron didn't offer to come up for a free estimate, the lady just gave me a quote over phone with 2 model options, chain opener for $299 and drive belt for $329, and I opted for latter. They called me 20 minutes before the scheduled time and came right on time. The father and son team worked quick and professionally. They are not good at verbal communication, the dad didn't want me to watch him while he is at working, just like my dad :-P but they did a great job! They adjusted the springs and door, installed the opener and the door works smoothly now. They charged me exactly what they quote. The brand and model they installed was quoted $500 by the second company. They don't use Ipad and they don't accept credit card or apple pay, their web site looks outdated but has the essential information(the price they charge!), they don't even have an email address, but I have to say this is the local business I want to support, they are honest, charge reasonably and do high quality work! I can't recommend this company high enough! read more

I was initially pleased with their service. They showed up on time and replaced the spring quickly at a fair price. They even went the extra mile and tried to get the light to work which was a lost cause. However, within a few days I started noticing the door not closing all the way one time, then slamming open. The next time it would slam closed and not open all the way. The problem got incrementally worse every week until I felt the need to have it looked at. About six weeks later when the problem became really bad I called to report what was going on. Obviously something needed to be adjusted. He insisted it had nothing to do with the spring despite the obvious facts. We didn't have this problem before they replaced it. He constantly interrupted and wouldn't let me speak. It became clear to me that he was not interested in providing good customer service and I ended up just hanging up. I couldn't get a word in. He may still be talking. If he had stopped interrupting he might have heard me say I was willing to pay for a service call to get it to work properly. It's just two guys in an old beat up pick up truck. I wanted to work with them because I admire entrepreneurs. He just wouldn't allow me to speak so I could explain how it was getting a little worse every week. He was so defensive that they didn't cause the problem. I'm not saying they caused the problem, although it's obvious that the spring they put on is not working well with the opener we have. Something needed to be adjusted. I ended up calling another company. I'll pay them the service fee I would have paid to Barron. read more
