Great food, good beer, awesome atmosphere and fantastic service! I would recommend stopping in!

I am originally from Tucson and I moved to Phoenix due to work. I am a Barrio Blonde fan and in Phoenix you can never find it up here in the bars I have visited. A friend told me about this place, and the first weekend I had off I stopped by. Not only did I get my favorite beer but I also got great service. Amanda was so friendly and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable about the different beers and took time to talk to us while still making sure all the other customers were still well taken care of. Even though it's a long way from home, I will definitely be back! read more

Pleasantly surprised. Heard people bragging about this spot. Weird location. Cool to watch jets and planes as it's literally on the airport runway. Great food and staff. Games always playing on many TVs. Specialty drinks and plenty of beers on tap. Always recommend to our local QC friends. !! read more

First time in tonight maybe just an off night for our waitress. Ordered potatoe skins, two cheese burgers with beer battered fries. one burger with jalapeño bacon other with regular bacon. Someone got them backwards so needless to say wife was not very happy with hers. And waitress was very inattentive ice tea only got refilled once after running out completely and then running out again never offered more. The food was good will probably try again and see if service is better. read more

Great beer and really nice people. Stopped by on a hot day with our dog and they made us super comfortable on the patio. Will be perfect when they get misters--but overall great experience. read more

This is my second time here. The first time the food was horrible and gave it another chance tonight. My son's med rare burger was well well done...burnt to a crisp. My panini was missing the mayo spread so it was dry and the fries were WAY over salted. Our waiter was non existent. Our appetizer came out and then 30 seconds later came our food. All the waiter could say was, oh well, you never know with the kitchen. The beer is good but the food is bad. Sorry, I won't be returning read more

Great place to go have some excellent craft beers and food. It has the best views for watching planes. A must see if you're in the area.

We went there tonight at 5:45 pm sat down and waited for the rest of our party. We ordered around  6:30 and he informed us you guys were out of onion rings. Chicken tenders, mushrooms, bacon so we ordered what we could then he comes back 5 mins later and says the kitchen is closed after being there an hour. Why wouldn't you guys have staff inform guests of what you guys are out of when they sit down ? They tell us that your freezer is not big enough so you only order once a week. They also said the franchisee owner is an absentee owner. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had dining out in my lifetime. If you guys only order Monday because the freezer is too small maybe it's time to invest in a bigger freezer so you can order more product so you are not stepping over business.  How do I get ahold of the franchisee owner so I can let him know how poorly this location is ran due to a lack of poor management.  And in case you guys are wondering Costco sells large quantities of all those items that you are out of.  In my profession this would be totally unacceptable. read more

The food and beer were not impressive, however, the view of the tarmac is cool

My boyfriend is a pilot and we absolutely love this place. The best part about it is Astrid. She is always attentive, friendly, funny and quick. She also gives great recommendations on beers to try. Nowadays, we only come here to see my favorite bartender Astrid. She makes the experience 5 stars. Unfortunately, I haven't seen her lately at Barrio's and that makes me sad. If she's not there, I don't eat there or grab drinks. read more

We recently moved to the area and we were looking for a non-chain restaurant to watch football that had great beers as well. We hit the jackpot. Our bartender Soriah was sweet and engaging from the minute we sat down. We have now made this our Sunday spot every weekend!!! Great food, beers and exceptional service. read more

Food was great and they have some unique beers on tap. It's a really neat place definitely worth checking it out.

Super friendly staff helps make this a great experience. I had the sliders which I thought were great. The place is fun with several TVs to catch a game with a shuffle board. I loved their beer. The Beach Ale was light and refreshing and hit the spot. I'll be going back. read more

We have been to this restaurant multiple times any day of the week. Always great service, food and of course beer. Thank you Barrio for a job well done. read more

I would give zero stars. I'm not sure if they were under staffed or just terrible at serving. We sat for 20 mins waiting for drinks and a kids menu. The lady next to us waited 30mins to even be acknowledged. We started with the pretzel appetizer the mustard was spicy yellow water the cheese was strange and watery as well. I ordered the Lizzy salad which was supposed to be a romaine salad with grilled chicken and other toppings. However I received a bowl of baby spinach no other greens and boiled or baked chicken it was the worst salad I couldn't even eat it. My daughters chicken tenders were burnt too! The only thing edible was the pretzel itself and the fries which are both pre-made frozen products. Usually I'd give a restaurant a second chance if it was mostly good but with a meal this awful and it taking an hour and a half when it's not busy...No Thanks! read more

First time there today.....great place to watch planes , great atmosphere and get a great brew....our server, Justin was amazing and mad our stay more enjoyable. He did not rush us, suggested what to try and was knowledgeable about the product. We will be back for food next time. read more

It was a surprise find next to the airport . Delicious beer, the pollo pesto chicken sandwich was awesome, fries were a little soggy. The bartender was great- friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it. Citrazona beer was absolutely delicious. read more

We read a few reviews and being a U OF A alumni when Gentle Ben's was at its peak in the early 80s, we said why not give it a try. Unfortunately, we weren't able to even rate the food or the beverages. We arrived got seated and waited for a server to help us. A group of three that arrived and got seated after us had drinks and their order taken before we even had anyone come to our table at all. We decided to walk out and leave and the hostess noticed we were leaving and asked why, I told her the group that arrived after us already had their drinks and order taken. She stated it was a table that was to be taken care of by the bartender. Well, the bartender had two couples at the bar and she was just standing around, didn't even acknowledge us. The hostess tried to stop us and offered to call the manager but I was just really disappointed and just wanted to leave. The only great aspect of the whole visit was the manager. We ran into the him as we were leaving. He thanked us for coming in and asked how was it. My wife said we didn't even eat or drink anything, then he asked why and we conveyed our concerns. He offered to buy us dinner and tried to get us to come back but the lack of service and even not being acknowledged by the staff was very disappointing. I must commend the manager for wanting to take care of his customers, but sometimes we as leaders we forget how unwelcoming our teams can be at times. Very disappointed!!!!! read more

I had lunch here and it was fantastic. Decided to try breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was a mistake. The food was, at best, okay. The service was terrible. 5 or 6 college age girls standing around doing alot of talking. It was 10 minutes before anyone came up and took an initial drink order. I had to set my own table with utensils salt pepper ketchup and sweetener for coffee. We had to ask for coffee refills. When we finished no one came to clean the table and waited 15 to 20 minutes for our bill before my wife got up to go ask for it. There was five girls waiting tables in about one-third of the tables had customers. Pretty disappointed after having a great lunch there. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go. It's a really great restaurant located in a slightly remote area, which adds to the appeal for me. It's located within the Mesa Gateway Airport and there are window seats with view of the runway and planes. Off in the distance are the beautiful Superstition Mountains. It's an amazing view. Customer service here is always great. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful, and fast. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating includes bar seating and high top versus normal table seating. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained. Their menu is full of amazing burgers. I love their burgers!!! I haven't had a change to try anything else yet because I am making my way around the burgers. There is something about the burger buns that has me addicted. Of course, they have a huge beer selection, but I am not a beer fan so I haven't tried any of them. They do have some TVs and the noise varies greatly depending on how many people are there. I have always been seated immediately every time I come so the wait is minimal to none. read more

Great food and beer every time I'm in town I make it a point to stop here!! Highly recommended great atmosphere and very affordable!!

What was supposed to be a special occasion turned into an utter nightmare. It's never fun when you have to leave caring a crying child because he so hungry after waiting 40 minutes after ordering with still no food. This is the fourth time I visited. The first was when it first opened and we waited quite some time for food. When it arrived, they informed my vegetarian friend that they could not make her food because they didn't have the ingredients. They had waited until everybody else's food was out before informing her. The restaurant was new, so I gave it another chance and went two more times. The food is ok, and service has always been slow, but you can't beat the location. However, tonight was awful. Once we were seated, the waiter took our drink orders but failed to bring mine. I had to remind him TWO more times to bring me a drink. Then, after waiting 40 minutes after we ordered, we decided it wasn't worth waiting anymore. We tried to flag down the waiter several times to either speak to the manager, find the status of her food, or just pay for the drinks and go. He looked at us, acknowledged us twice, but would never come over and speak to us knowing that something was wrong. Never in my life I have done this, but we just got up and left with my kid crying saying that he was soo hungry. To my credit, I again tried to flag somebody down to pay for my drink, but I couldn't even find somebody that was willing to even speak to me. I work near this location, and have many coworkers, so I need to let the restaurant know that they have lost a chunk of business from my colleagues. Shame on you. The only redeeming thing is that we ended up spending a lot less money at McDonald's :-) it was just not the night that we were hoping for. read more

Good food with medium sized portions, cool window view of planes, and decent selection of beer. Worth trying for sure!

Wow.. A hidden gem. Let Yelp find a place to eat and drink. Followed the directions that led you to what looks like an industrial park by the airport. The restaurant fronts to the airport. Who can beat watching 6 fighter jets park 100 feet from you while have an excellent very cold micro-brewed beer and an amazing hamburger. Beer battered fries were great. All people in our party said the food was great. I can't wait to go back for brunch. A must go to place!! read more

This place is great! The beer was really good, food was delicious and our waiter was super helpful. We came for taco Tuesday, $2.50 tacos! Happy hour until 7:00! We'd been avoiding coming here because we assumed it would be a hassle in an airport. Turns out It is separate from it but still on the runway, so the view is cool! You can watch planes take off and land (great for little ones and airplane lovers). Plenty of parking available! read more

This was our first time at Barrio Brewing Co. We had a great experience with Cassidy taking care of 12 in our party. We went on a Tuesday night and arrived at 5:30 pm, during happy hour (2-7 Mon-Fri, all day Sun). We were there for a Birthday celebration. We had a cake of our own. Cassidy took the cake to put in the fridge. We all ordered and everything was correct when brought out to us. All in our party thought the food was very good. The beer was in pints. The beer during happy hour was only $4. The beer normally is only $5 pints. Cassidy let me sample any of the beers I wanted, no charge. I settled on the Barrio Blonde and Rojo Red Ale. Both were delicious. We all completed our meal, all in our party enjoyed their food. Then Cassidy brought out plates for the cake we brought. How amazing was this! Then the best surprise was the cost of the meal (much less than I expected). We all decided it would be best for each of the families to pay for their own food. Cassidy was advised of this and within 5 minutes she returned with three bills for the three families, getting all of the individual meals on the correct bills including the 5 kids meals to the correct family. How about that!!! The entire 2.5 hour experience was fantastic. We enjoyed everything about it. We will be back! read more

This is the restaurant that took the place of the Flight Deck Cafe. It's right down the street (walking distance) from the main terminal at the Phoenix-Gateway Mesa Airport. I know this place just opened but they need to definitely get it together. The place is clean, open, there is an outside patio area and is kinda of decorated or themed like the old place with airplanes, etc. They still have a few windows you can look out of while you eat and see planes come and go. Our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be working at this particular time at all. She was more interested in talking with other staff members and checking her phone. It was frustrating that we had to get her attention so we could get our order in. If this place was hopping and busy I could completely understand, but for a Thursday afternoon, it was pretty dead. After our food came out we were all pretty disappointed. The potato skins, easy dish that a lot of bars offer, was filled with not a lot of flavor, bit burnt and skimpy on the filling. There was more of the skin on the outside of the potato then there was actually potato on the inside loaded with nothing. My boyfriend ordered a burger and that too was disappointing. No flavor, the fries tasted like they had been sitting out all afternoon and re-heated, just plain "meh." My sister and my mom split the french dip and that had similar reactions. There was no flavor!! No taste, nothing to it at all. Someone call the flavor fairy, you guys need some help. I unfortunately did not try any beverages to see how their selection was, after all this is a brewery...... But I like food with my brew and you lost me on the food. After having a "meh" experience with the staff and a "meh" experience with the food, I had to give this place a "meh" rating. I was really hoping it was going to blow me away because it's right across the street from my work. I hope this place can make some adjustments in the future to make customers experiences better, so it can thrive. Good luck! read more

Great food again! Everything is good here! Service food, view! Had California burger and hu by had cheese steak. Yum!

I love this place! The food is FANTASTIC! The beer is FABULOUS! Management super helpful. We will be back!

Good food beer and service. Had a sandwich filled with veggies. Fry's perfectly seasoned. Raspberry Ale refreshing for this hot weather. Sonoran dog good too. read more

I've been here a couple times now and it has been fantastic! The first time I had the French dip with fries and a flight of beer. Not only was the beer awesome the food was great too. My second trip I sat at the bar for lunch. The bartender, Tyler, was on top of his game making sure my iced tea didn't go below half way. I asked him what he recommended to eat and he threw out a ton of suggestions. When he mentioned the Sonoran dog I knew I had to have the Tucson staple. He also recommended the beer battered fries which were in incredible. As I was waiting for my food, Tyler asked if I had tried any of their beers. I replied I did and he gave me a mix of two of the beers on draft. The peach ale and their raspberry beer. Absolutely delicious mix. The Sonoran dog was messy but delicious. Awesome atmosphere being next to the tarmac, delicious food, great beer, and incredible customer service. All in all a home run! read more

Loved the idea of a brewing company inside of an airport. Especially, when you are able to go there without even flying anywhere or going through security check-lines. The location is perfect. If you are lucky enough to get a seat by a window you will be able to see planes take-off and land while you eat. The beer is top notch. I tasted almost everything they had on tap and I enjoyed everything. I usually go more towards IPA's so I settled on Citrazona, which is a great go to for me. I ordered the wings, spinach and artichoke dip, and The Phoenix sandwich. The wings were quite good, especially with the halbanero sauce. The spinach and artichoke dip was so-so, not the worst, but definitely not the best. The Phoenix is where they really shined. The chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked and very moist. From the bread to the chicken it was delicious. The service was pretty good as well. Perfect happy hour spot as it is Monday - Friday 2-7pm. Cant wait to check this place out again. read more

Was there on Sunday at 1, moderately busy at the time. Must have been a bad day. Service was slow and waited 1:05 for our food. Waitress gave a weak apology. When food finally came , panini was burnt and fries were way underdone. Another weak apology, sorry won't be back! read more

Fun place. Pretty good beer selection, service is okay. Burgers are pretty good but tend to be undercooked (at least last couple times we went). They are quick to fix it though so still would recommend! read more

I've lived in the area and had no idea this place was here until my wife heard about it and wanted to try it out. It's located just north of the airport in a warehouse looking building. The signage could definitely be better, but once you find it, the amazing food and drinks will make you forget it was hard to find. They have a pretty extensive beer menu. I had the Java Stout and the porter. Both were great, but the java stout was definitely the better of the 2. Imagine a Guinness with coffee flavor. It was delicious! The porter flavor was outstanding, but after drinking the java first, the sharp carbonation bubbles in the porter were a bit much. For food we started off with the artichoke spinach dip. Holy cow was that tasty!! For my main meal I had the house ruben, which was also amazing! Service was absolutely outstanding! Our waitress, Summer, checked on us every few minutes to make sure we were doing ok. I'm so glad we found this place and will definitely be spreading the word! read more

Read some great reviews so decided to give it a shot. Let me say, not impressed at all. First off, ordered tacos and splurged on the $1.00 add on of sour cream, they brought quesadillas w/a side of sour cream. Once noticed and acknowledged, my server went to swap out for the correct order of tacos. For starters, I'm pretty sure they just dumped my quesadilla toppings into taco shells; but no big deal, I'll eat it. But what happened to my $1.00 sour cream? Guess it got forgotten when my wife's medium well burger came out pink as cotton candy and that needed to be replaced. Throughout all of this travesty, of wrong food, undercooked food, forgotten sour cream, and now my wife and I eating meals at separate times, can anyone guess what happened? If you guessed that we complained, you'd be wrong. We carried on and enjoyed each other's as well as our sons company. If you guessed a manager came out and apologized and would fix things, again, you would be wrong. We did however get our bill for the full $72.70, which included the $1.00 sour cream that was never added. Now this is where most people might think I'm an ass--I left $72.00 (would've only been $71.70 had I had change). Why? Well, I shouldn't pay for the sour cream never received, that much is obvious; but why no tip you ask? I spent a lot of time waiting tables, bar tending, etc; when mistakes like that happen, you get a manager involved and get it resolved if you can't get it resolved yourself. It's simple customer service. Had that happened, my server would've gotten a tip far beyond what is generally acceptable, but it did not happen; and no explanation was given, no apology, nothing. So there's my review, wish I could've raved, but I ranted. read more

I hope they take care of their issues because this could be a really cool little place. I know having a larger party (8) at 530 on Saturday night will never be a quick experience...but we were there for over an hour and a half, and all the food wasnt even good. Some of it was great - the pretzels, the Ruben. All of our burgers were dry and hard, one came out way after the rest of the food. One order came out totally wrong, sent it back, came out wrong again. Our server was nice, but we had no silverware and couldn't seem to find him anywhere when we needed that and a few other things. It took at least 20 minutes after asking for it to get our check. We were in such a hurry at that point (5 kids bored out of their minds) that while my husband had the kids outside playing, I quickly signed the check and left...to find out later we were charged $9.50 for wings we didnt order. Totally my fault for not looking at it, but we were so done being there! We will probably stay away from Barrio for awhile, and hope they figure out their kitchen and staffing problems. It just felt like there were far too many patrons in the place than they are prepared to handle at this point. read more
