Service was slow, food was decent. But the real feature here is the activity outside on the flightline. Last time we were there there were 6 Marine Harrier jets sitting just outside. Probably lucky for us that the service was slow else we'd have left and missed the experience of watching 4 of those beasts come to life read more

We waited 30 minutes with no one taking our drink or food order. We left. Very disappointing. There weren't very many people there either. If they're going to make it they need to get their act together. read more

The first time I came here shortly after they opened I swore I would never come back. Well I have given it a second chance, twice actually in the last month or two and it is way better. Both times the food has been excellent and I really like the Barrio Blonde. read more

Awesome food, great beer, and good service. We were able to see the jets taking off and the pilots coming in for a beer after their flights. Very cool place. Highly recommend it. read more

Awesome food & beverage (citrazona)!! Extraordinary service!! Celina killed it!! We will definitely be back!!

Awesome bartender Astrid is very knowledgeable in her craft beer varieties. Good food and good place to kick back and grab a pint. Will definitely be back. read more

Beers were good. Service was good when we finally got it at the bar. The waitresses were not doing much someone needs to be there to supervise. The food menu looked really good. The food was alright. They were kinda of cheap on the ingredients. I'll be back as I liked the beer. read more

I've tried this place three times for lunch. The first was a hamburger, just OK, something you'd expect at a party for your 5 year old. The second was the French dip, I gave it a 3 out of 10. The third was the beef and cheese panini. I kid you not...it was hard as a rock and I think they must have run out of cheese. No refill on ice tea (but was asked as I left), no condiments at table, no salt, pepper even. Had to ask for a napkin, god knows what would have happened if I asked for silverware. Not ever going there again, given a choice I'd rather have the two hotdogs for $3 at the gas station on the corner :( read more

I have been waiting a long time to try the Mesa location of Barrio. I love Barrio in Tucson and have not been since I moved in 2015. Tonight was my 4th wedding anniversary and we went to Barrio. It is family friendly and one of the few choices for parents with small kids. I was not expecting having to wait and wait and wait for a table. There was no one to greet you or welcome you. There is also not an atmosphere of sit where ever there is a free table like in Tucson. Instead of a brewery with food, this location is a restaurant with beer. It took a while for seating and to order. I got my favorite wings and beer and my spouse got a burger. The food was hot and tasty when it arrived, but the price and quantity was shocking. Instead of 12 wings for $9.00, They charge $9.50 for 8 small wings! I was not expecting this so I had to ask. They said no we only serve 8 wings. Disappointing because I wanted more because they are so good! The burger was good, but not that good for a $12 burger. The fries we got and salty, but shoestring and not like Tucson. I know they were trying to be awesome, but I expected the same fast friendly amazing service of Tucson. The server didn't even ask if I wanted another beer. I was sad. I mean yes my toddler was restless, but we came out for a special occasion and it was not the experience I had hoped for from Barrio staff. I wish I could give 4 stars, but without service I could not recommend. Perhaps if I go back to watch a basketball game without a small child the service will be better. I only hope the employees will provide better service so families can enjoy the Mesa location as much as Tucson. read more

If you love good beer and wings with a side of fries and some beautiful gals then make your way to this lovely spot right here. These barrio guys sure do know how to brew and they sure do know how to treat their customers. The CITRAZONA IPA is nothing to skip over, this beer will make you slap the table and ask for three more before you even get to the entree! I love me some good wings and boy they got it, I went with hot because there's no other way to eat wings. My girlfriend pointed out the window to show me the planes outside and I'm off my third brew so I'm already feeling it hit me harder than my mom used to when I didn't throw the trash out in time haha it was great sight to see!! Thank you barrio, see ya again soon read more

Beer was fabulous well done the food program need work!!!! I like the airport idea as well

I realize it just opened and they have to work out the kinks but a bit overpriced. Must be the lease fee thats killing them.Had a couple beers and finger food. $40? No airport employee discount. I'll just stick with my normal hole-in-the-wall from now on. read more

Great local brewery and menu items are delicious. We have been here several times and also take visiting family to this location.

Great place and good food although service is a bit slow. We've been there numerous times and it hasn't gotten any faster unfortunately

We will not go here again, we've been here about a dozen times but tonight was the worst. They were not that busy, nobody greeted us so we sat down at a table, nobody came over to give us menus or take our drink order, there was about six employees standing around by the bar, they saw us and kept walking by, after about 5 minutes we got up and started walking out, the manager who saw us come in had the nerve to say "Thanks for coming, have a good evening." This place is poorly run, and the staff is rude. read more

Love the location of Barrio Brewery and would like to love the food and service but after trying it again after staying away for a while I simply cannot say I love it. On our visit there Thursday evening they were moderately busy. When our waitress took our food order after telling us all the things they were out of she immediately made excuses for the kitchen being backed up (this must be standard behavior because we got the same thing the last time we were there a few months ago). I ordered fish tacos and when they arrived there was no side of beans as shown on the menu. When I mentioned it the response was "Oh, we are out of those!" No offer to substitute another item. When I bit into the fish taco the fish was so dry and overdone that I could barely chew it. I did not return it because I didn't want another disaster from their kitchen. I certainly don't recommend dining there if you value good food and service. They have a fantastic location and every opportunity to be a first class "go to" spot if they had food and service skills. read more

Staff is always very helpful and fun,Astrid is amazing!!! Great experience each time we have come; good beer and good food.

Barrio Brewing - My waitress Soriah took away my stress flying into a great experience with a very rememberable cold beer and a great smile! - American Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

This place is the place to be when on the east side of Phoenix! Friend, family, dog(patio only), all are welcome! Great food and beer!

Having worked in a restaurant industry before I am more critical. The summary: the food is good, not great. The beer is good! The location is amazing because you can see airplanes in and out. The service is good not great. The servers seem to not have the biggest focus on making a great customer focus, but it's definitely not bad by any means. My suggestion would be to increase the quality of food (even if it means increased price, focus on an amazing customer experience since the airport is an experience itself, and get the servers to have some more passion) this is a solid and well deserved 4 star rating, definitely need to check this place out. read more

I like it. Been here 2 times in the last month. First time we sat by the window with a view of two Marine Corps Harriers parked on the flight line and ate good stuff. Today (Sunday) after the football rush time we sat and enjoyed a good dinner. I had the Baja Fish Tacos which were very good. Only criticism is why the beans side dish with fish tacos. And I mean beans, like Boston Baked Beans??? Should be an option for refried beans or black beans with that dish. Oh...and their Rojo beer is quite excellent. Overall service on both visits was very attentive. Amanda on the second visit laughed at my lame attempt at humor so that was plus 2 stars. read more

The food is good. I don't think that has ever been the problem the last 3 times we came. The problem is the service. We always sit at the bar and it consistently takes 10 minutes to be greeted and another 5-10 to get a drink. This is a mile away from us and we would come much more often if we weren't so concerned about the level of service we get. Make sure to order two drinks at a time so you don't run on empty! read more

What a cool local place! Beer good. Fighter jets good. Good food good. Dog friendly patio good. The combination of all these things, Awesome! Highly recommend breakfast menu. read more

Been here several times in the past. Have had good experiences, good food, good beer. Today, a polar opposite experience. Came at lunch time on a Saturday, half of the restaurant had reserved signs on their tables. Was told it was open seating, but because of all the reserved signs only one 4 top was available. When I asked a server about a table for 5 adults and 2 high chairs, he says he will ask his manager what they can do for us. The manager proceeds to come out from the kitchen with a MOUTH FULL OF FOOD, so much food that after seating another group ahead of us, he was still chewing food when he came back to help us. I was told by the manager, with food still in his mouth mind you, that all of the tables were reserved because the owner was coming in for (wait for it) dinner tonight. Remember it's now lunch time. We are now eating at Rubio's. read more

This is a cool & relaxed brewery with some awesome views. It's cool to watch the planes land & take off. Relaxing atmosphere with good, basic bar food. Everything had a great flavor and the prices were reasonable read more

Tried coming here in the afternoon. At least 15 tables vacant (multiple were empty on patio), and was quoted a minimum of 30 minute wait time for a party of 3. Others waiting had been there for 30 minutes without being seated. Left after waiting 20 minutes while multiple tables remained vacant. Such a shame, was really hoping to test this place out. Unfortunately, the poor service has been a consistent complaint I've heard of. read more

Great service and fantastic food. The view of the airplanes and the Superstition Mountains were cool, too.

I went here for the first time and had a decent experience. The food was wonderful but service was lacking and got charged for a few things I did not order - service took too long so didn't bother waiting around for someone to take them off my tab. I thought I'd give it another try and went again, this time my experience was not great. At the time of ordering I tried to order 3 things but they were out of all of them, everyone else got there order taken and the waitress (same one as the time before) told me she would be right back to take my order since I needed another minute to look over the menu again. She did not return until everyone was half way done with their meal I even asked the food runner twice to have her come check on us... at that point I just settled for some fries and called it a night. We all wanted dessert but again, got no service, finally we had to walk up to the bartender to have them close us out. It wasn't too busy and I saw her be very attentive to other tables so not sure what the deal was. read more

We just popped in for a beer and were impressed by the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. The airport location is fun for takeoff and landings of the planes. We tried the blonde draft and loved the flavour, and sampled a few others.. All were very tasty . We had already eaten but the food coming out looked delicious. We lucked out with the friendly brewery rep....she was fun and loaded us down with trinkets to take back to Canada... We highly recommend the Barrio for a fun and friendly outing.. I'm sorry to post this because I'm a big fan of Arizona craft breweries and especially of Barrio. I was excited to see Barrio open their Mesa location near my home and have visited there often. I feel that there has been a steady decline in the "customer experience" since they opened. Today was the corker! My wife and I stopped in to enjoy a drink and found no one at the door nor any sign advising what to do...seat yourself, wait to be seated, whatever. I went to the bar and asked a guy there if we could take a seat and he said yes. We went out to the patio and the same guy came out and took our order, a mixed drink, a beer and 2 waters. The bartender brought the drinks soon enough but no water. We sat there about 25 minutes and no one came by again to ask if everything was ok, did we need anything else, did we forget to bring your water...nothing. (While we were there it was not busy nor did the staff seem overwhelmed by the workload, just indifferent). I would have ordered another beer but since no one came around we decided to leave when we finished our drinks. We went to the bar again and waited until the bartender saw us. We asked for our bill and she said no problem and told us the total ($11.35) and we gave her a twenty. She saw our server come out of the backroom and told him we were ready to leave/pay and gave him the bill and $20 however for some reason, she made change for the $20, gave it to the server and he handed the whole $20 to my wife without a word. At first she thought it was the change but there was no coins so she counted it and found it was the whole $20. Again, without a word or eye contact from the guy we left $11.35 on the counter in front of him and left. Never did hear the words "thank you". What has happened to customer service and eye contact with friendly service? As I've read in other reviews, and I completely agree, this is a great high potential location and they have quality beer and food but the service is so bad that I'm afraid that this location is doomed to die away from crappy service. I give it two stars rather than one due to the outstanding Barrio Rojo that I really like but the service and experience is sadly disappointing. read more

I like their beers and it's a great location. The M girl was OK but the fries were cold. The brand on the turkey sandwich was also stale. I think this might be a good place to go for some beers and appetizers but not really for a meal read more

Love this place. The food is usually great and the beer is decent. I'd say my only real gripe is that it seems like every time I visit, there's some private party that has half the bar cordoned off and everyone else is pinned in the remainder. Not a big deal, but their space isn't gigantic, so you really feel the crunch on space. Maybe look into getting some additional space for a PDR so it doesn't affect your regulars. I don't begrudge them their success, but it can be frustrating at times. Keep an eye on your tab too. One particular bartender always seems to be making "mistakes". I'm still on the fence whether it's intentional or not but when it happens several times consecutively, you start to wonder. read more

I really enjoyed the barrio rojo scottish style ale! The food is great too but i prefered to snacking on the appetizers they have to offer like the artichoke dip. The only thing i would say was a problem was the fact that u almost have to always make a reservation if you want a table during the weekends but other than that this place rocks! read more

It's cool having the restaurant right on the airport. I especially like the Bang Bang burger. Samantha is nice.
