    Such an amazing local spot!
    Keely H.

If you're looking for a locally owned restaurant serving everything from authentic pupusas to legit MICHELADAS, this is your place. The most personable service, and a genuine feel of community (which is becoming harder and harder to find). Don't miss out on this gem on 14th-- you won't be disappointed !

I am very picky with pupusas and I work in the area so I'm always going to food trucks or other…read morerestaurants. Since I'm working near La casita, I decided to give the pupusas a try and I gave it a 5 stars because I love how their pupusas are evenly made. They are so perfect! This is my second time purchasing some. I will be back and recommended to people this place.

Found this spot through Yelp and after reading all the great reviews, I decided to give it a try…read more One encouraging sign when I first walked in was that the place was pretty full, which told me I came to the right place. I ordered three chicken and cheese pupusas, and they were a great size. I was nearly full after the first two. The flavor was on point. My apologies for my photo because I was already halfway through my third pupusa before I remembered to snap a picture. I also tried the corn tamale, which my wife and I enjoyed a lot. On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference. We finished our meal with the nuegados en miel dulce, something I had never tried before. I was glad I did because it was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food and experience were excellent. If you are like me and rely on Yelp reviews to decide where to eat, I highly recommend giving La Casita Pupuseria & Market a visit. You will be well pleased like I was.

We came in at 8:30pm, which is close to when the kitchen shuts down…read more We started with the queso fundido with chorizo, but the waitress must have missed the chorizo because it wasn't there and we weren't charged for it. The queso was good, but we would have preferred that chorizo. The waitress didn't check back with us until dinner was served so we didn't have time to add it. The tuna crudo was good, but too much sesame going on there and it took away from the deliciousness of that tuna crudo. I would give it a 3 out of 5. Now for the real deal...the birria was outstanding. The brisket meat comes in the consommé and is absolutely amazing. You have to get this! The carne asada was also the bomb! The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare as we ordered it and the crust was so good you didn't need any of the sauces. I ate the steak separately and saved the rest to eat as sides with that super spicy jalapeño. Everything on the dish was worth the $45. With the last two dishes as good as they were, this place is a 5 star restaurant all day long. It's with the drive and the restaurant is clean and runs like a well oiled machine.

I have been hearing nothing but amazing things about Cielo Rojo so I finally went with my friend…read morewho had been several times before. We had a somewhat last minute reservation at the bar high tops, but the only downside was the table was a little small, and we ordered a lot of food. To start, I got a hibiscus margarita that was delicious and refreshing. We got the tuna tostadas which were probably my favorite dish of the night, as well as the aguachiles, the enchiladas tres moles, and a chicken quesadilla. The aguachiles were just OK to me - the tostada it is served with was not a great vessel and the mole sauce went everywhere, including on my white jeans. Maybe if you love mole and fish, you would love it, but I think you can pass. The enchiladas were really good, and every sauce was different and unique. The chicken quesadilla was also quite good, but it had a lot of nuttiness to it which to me overpowered the other flavors. This was all a lot of really tasty food, but we had to get dessert too, and ordered the churros which were fantastic. Overall, I would definitely come back. I think if you don't really like corn tortillas or seeds/nuts in your food, you will not be the biggest fan, but they have so many different menu options that it is also the kind of place where everyone will find something they like.

Having lived in Tijuana, I have had the best birria tacos, and while Taco Loco's birria tacos are not better than what you can get south of the border, they are pretty darn close. They have a full menu in addition to tacos, we also had carne asada sopes. Service is friendly, nothing amazing, but it was friendly and efficient, especially only one young man was working the floor. Ambiance is a bit divey, but I think that's what makes the food taste so good. And a little secret - we liked the tacos so much we went back two days later for more. If you like authentic Mexican food then Taco Loco is a must try.

Updated review…read more Unfortunately, I have to downgrade my previous review from five to three stars based on my most recent delivery experience. A few things that I had issues with. Although we ordered a dessert, the dessert did not arrive with our order. Upon realizing the missing dessert, I called the restaurant to inquire why the dessert was not included in the delivery. The person who answered the phone told me that the dessert was not included because they did not have the ingredients to make it. Ok, I understand that happens from time to time. However, I did not really understand why the restaurant could not have called me to inform me that they could not supply the dessert. When this has happened in past with other restaurants, they usually ask if you would like a refund or another similarly-priced item. Fortunately, it was not a problem to get a refund from Grubhub. The packaging was a mess. We ordered eight tacos, which were delicious, but they jammed them all into one container. By the time, the food arrived the tortillas were pretty stuck to each other. I thought the restaurant skimped on the portion size for the chips and salsa portions, which made the sideway overpriced for $9.
