This place is a scam. DO NOT DO YOUR TAXES HERE. I filed my taxes here back in 2021 and they sent me a refund from a third party processor SBTPG LLC. Not directly from the IRS. I checked my refund amount both on the IRS website and on my tax return copy, I was shorted about $700. I contacted the office & Adrianna multiple times but would always get a "she's not available but we will let her know". I went back in 2022 to inform her that I called multiple times throughout the prior year and needed to make sure she followed up. She never followed up. I know its been a while, but every year around this time of year I get extremely upset to think about how this business could possibly be extorting others who may not be paying as close of attention to their refund amount details. The lack of follow up on multiple occasions leads me to believe they are avoiding the conversation on purpose because they know they are stealing refunds. Completely unprofessional to not follow up on such an urgent matter. Proceed with caution. read more

I had been going to Barreras for my taxes for the last few years and never had a real problem with them I thought they were reasonably priced and did a good job, until this year Adriana did my taxes and did not disclose to me until the very end that she more than DOUBLED the preparation fee. naturally, I was not happy with this as I feel that if there is going to be a price increase it should be transparent and disclosed PRIOR to any business arrangement that takes place. regardless though, I was still willing to move forward since she already prepared my taxes and Adriana told me she would send me the docusign to confirm everything, it was a Sunday so I wasn't alarmed that she didn't send it, however come Monday afternoon I still had not received the docusign so I called her office and they told me they would send it over, I never recieved it so I called back in a few hours assuming they were busy for being so close to the deadline. They told me they would send it in 10 minutes and call me to make sure I got it. i still did not receive the docusign or a call. I called a third time and told them I still hadn't gotten it after calling several times that day. They finally sent it to me at 4:19 and I completed it and sent it back. When I emailed Adriana to let her know and to express further frustration about the fee going up especially after having to chase down her staff to send me the docusign and for the amount I was being charged I did not feel I was getting good service and I expressed that a tax preparer should be doing what they can to save their clients money (that is what keeps Clients coming back after all) and they I did not feel a more than 50% increase was worth it and reiterated that it should be disclosed up front, she accused me of being disrespectful and REFUSED to submit my taxes because she does not need a client like me. keep in mind here it is already 4/18 and she refused to submit them after she had already done the work and ON THE DEADLINE nonetheless. I cannot believe how unprofessional and shady this is. I was nothing but respectful to her, however as a paying and loyal customer I have the right to express my concerns, but to actually retaliate just because I am vocalizing my concerns and to refuse to submit my taxes on the deadline is just disgustingly unprofessional. This place needs to be investigated for shady business practices, retaliation and Withholding information from customers. read more

If I could I would give them a 0 I did my taxes for the past 4 years with them to find out the have extras fee for filing taxes that I didn't know or have knowledge of until I got a letter from the IRS telling how much I received it didn't match with what they gave me be careful people they will take your money and then tell you that you can do nothing about it I report them to the IRS DO NOT TRUST this people they screw me I filed with them very sad read more
