But Title Boxing Club North Columbus completely exceeded my expectations. Before it became what it is now, I had heard about the previous owners and how the experience used to lack energy and customer service. That is definitely not the case anymore. The new team has turned the place around. From the moment I walked in, the trainers made me feel like family. They are not just there to give you a hard workout. They really care about teaching proper technique and making sure you are improving in a safe and supportive environment. The vibe is welcoming, friendly, and full of good energy. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel like part of the group. I felt myself getting stronger, faster, and more confident with every class. If you are looking for a gym that combines real boxing training with a positive and encouraging atmosphere, this is the place. You can tell the new ownership really cares about building something special here, and I am grateful I got to be a part of it.

I heard about Orangetheory Fitness when they first opened but the price just got to me at first. Then I went for my first class with Hannah B and was enticed afterwards. I was actually seeing results from my workout. Some of these other gyms I went to, the trainer shows up late then gives you half the time for your workout without concentrating on what your goals are. Here at Orangetheory Fitness the trainers are very dedicated to helping everyone reach their goals, in a comfortable and safe environment to workout. They will even adjust your workout if you have any injuries, etc going on, which I love because some of the other gyms didn't do that for me, which wound me up with an injury. The goal at Orangetheory is to be in the green, orange and red zones for at least 12 minutes. Coach Dee Dee is great at making sure you get there! She even has a killer playlist every time I come for her classes! What I love about this gym compared to the others is I get a variety of workouts. Such as weights, treadmill, and rowers. My other gym it was treadmill or nothing. I need variety to get my muscles going and heart rate up. Speaking of heart rate, if you wear the heart rate monitor it will track your progress on the TV screens throughout the class! How cool is that? We didn't have that at my other gyms! So what are you waiting for? Try Orangetheory Fitness today to see those calorie burning results!

Initially I had a great experience at Pure Barre! I loved the instructors and the staff and was…read morewilling to sign up for a year long commitment of classes to get a discount but things went a bit sour due to some miscommunication. When I signed up there was a new member challenge that entailed completing 10 classes to earn a free pair of socks. I was super excited for this challenge and for the socks since they were cute so I completed 10 classes. On my tenth I walked in and they welcomed me and said congratulations on completing the new member challenge. They even took a photo of me with a sign saying I'd completed the accomplishment. Afterward I asked if I could choose my pair of socks and I was looked at as if I had two heads. Both women at the front desk said there was no such thing and insisted members only get a pair of socks for completing 100 classes. I thought I may have misheard when signing up so I went along and continued with my classes. Except the following week when another woman had completed her tenth class and was awarded and allowed to choose her complimentary pair of socks. This hurt--was my accomplishment not the same? Was I not valued the same way? It seems silly but this small miscommunication just made me feel unwelcome or as if my money or commitment to showing up didn't go as far as someone else's. That day I sent an email requesting my membership to be canceled. We went back and forth a couple times until I was notified that there was a 3 month commitment but once the 3 months are up there was a note on my account and my membership would cancel and I wouldn't be charged! I said great sounds easy enough. So I continued going to classes. When my last class rolled around I wanted to double check that my membership would be ending and safe to say no note was placed on my account and this was very disappointing. While the instructors and most of the staff are wonderful I really wish the management at this place was more thorough in communicating with their team to make sure everyone knows the policies and current promotions/challenges. I would have loved to continue working out here but just couldn't stand the idea of showing up somewhere being promised one thing and provided another. Not to mention many of the classes were repetitive in moves/music. After completing a month of classes I felt like I was stuck in the Groundhogs day movie. Additionally, while there are a variety of classes most class types are scheduled for the same days/times so this limits your ability to sign up for a variety of workouts.

I enjoyed Pure Barre because your first class is free and you do not have to commit right away. I went to the 5:30 Monday Classic Class. When you walk into the studio not far from the front desk are lockers that you can put your stuff in. The class was pretty full. But there was enough distance between people so you don't feel suffocated while you work out. They aLao have wipes to clean the equipment you use(they provide all equipment, you just bring your socks). Our instructor was Abby. She was very attentive and corrected my form whenever I wasn't doing things properly. I will say the class goes a little fast so it was hard to keep up (being that I am new to the language). I'm sure if you go a few times you will catch on. All and all this was a great experience and I could feel each movement targeting specific muscles. I will likely try it again!
