Fit For You is a must add to your workout regime or a great place to get started and take control of your physical wellness. If you strength train, I think a Pilates session once a week is a great addition to your weekly routine. I truly believe that the programs at Fit For You have made my core stronger, as I've seen advancements in my yoga practice, and it has helped me maintain endurance in strength training. It's really the best way I've found to tone and build muscle stamina. The private sessions solo or with 1-2 others on the Pilates Reformers will help you feel your best by working on areas that you want to target. It's a total body program, but you always can say if you want to focus more on upper or lower body. And even though this is a low impact exercise, it doesn't mean you aren't going to work. She'll sneak in some killer motions that you'll feel the next day and she won't put you on a weight that's too easy for you. I like reformer best for core and arms, but if you really want to focus on your lower body, I would mix in some of the barre classes that the studio offers! I partially dislocated my hip in a different exercise program and Alysa helped me slowly regain strength and get back into exercising safely. She is very knowledgeable and trained about movement and offered helpful advice for at-home stretching and modified exercises. It's been about 5 months since I was cleared to fully exercise again and Alysa still checks in with each movement to make sure it's not putting pressure on my hip.

Christine has an extensive and solid background in Pilates and fitness and is able to modify based on a clients needs, injuries they maybe dealing with or whatever other limitations. I started out attending private classes with Sharon mid-pandemic and eventually progressed to group classes. Now my weekly favorites are tower class with Sharon and barre class with Andrea. You really get the feeling that teaching is their calling and they love what they do. They have a way of making "hard work" fun and really can read - and if necessary - adjust your posture or poses to maximize the impact on a muscle group. It's almost like Sharon has a sixth sense for those things! Any time I go to a class it boosts my energy and spirits -- and any time I miss a class, I feel like there's been a loss to my general well being. Phoenix is very sensitive to physical, and intellectual difficulties and adapts the class to our needs, breaking down the instructions so we can keep up and get the most out of our time with her. Our last session was a restorative practice which left us all feeling relaxed and de-stressed. It's a great, healthy way to spend time with my girls and we're so glad we found this studio! The atmosphere is calming and peaceful and fees very reasonable. As I said I'm no expert but I would definitely recommend Phoenix!

It really is special.  I would consider myself somewhat of a "yogi nomad" never really finding that studio that resonated with me...however I've found my home. Seymour & the Valley is blessed to have this offering to it's community. The teachers are loving, personable, knowledgeable,and compassionate. They provide caring instructions accompanied by healing words to guide you through your practice, meditation, self awareness, and spiritual journey. I've taken classes with Phoenix, Charles & Rebecca and each has uniquely elevated my practice. The studio is warm and very inviting with a max capacity of roughly 12 in studio 1 . I felt very comfortable the moment I walked in the door. (Btw please remove your shoes when you walk in.) I very much enjoyed the creativity and personal touch each teacher brings to the mat and appreciate the fine balance of personal attention the teachers offer up. The decor is very simplistic and the bay windows shine in just enough to cover the floor in natural light. The pricing is more than reasonable compared to other studios in Fairfield County and the caliber of teachers far surpass any instructor I've experienced at the Edge, LA Fitness or Planet Fitness. Additionally, I wanted to mention the music. Two thumbs way up on the music selections the teachers are bringing into the classes....eclectic, soothing and up lifting. If your a guy who has been considering yoga to improve your flexibility, mental health or physical strength and is apprehensive to step into a studio for whatever reason....this is the spot for you. The classes that I attend are led by well trained instructors who carefully monitor the students. The classes are excellent for strength and balance and for all levels. This location is very busy, so it can be challenging to book classes within your membership limits. It appears they are making every effort to solve the issue.
