I have not been to Anthony's before but after a night out with the family we all needed a bite to…read moreeat, other people in our group had been here before and their visit wasn't the best, tonight was different. From the moment we walked towards the restaurant the owner said hello and greeted us, the staff were very friendly and helped with menus and the specials of the day. Service is quite fast and the selection of food is wide and the wine list is well thought out, we had several meals and everyone was very impressed with the food, taste and presentation. I has the Duck Raghu and I was impressed with the taste, my partner had a pizza which smelt fantastic from the other end of the table, all the other meals were very good. Each meal came out one at a time, this is a bit different to other places but I feel that this is the case because each meal is made and plated up fresh the moment it leaves the kitchen. There is also a good selection of cakes here and coffee is quite good too, if you are in the area and feel like good Italian I would highly recommend Anthonys.

Beautiful Italian food with comfortable surroundings. The staff are welcoming and attentive, even…read morewhen they are busy. Their pasta is lovely and usually what I get and their coffee is always a winner. They are now open for breakfast which makes them even better! Location wise, it's not the greatest, being on the corner is Sudholz and Lower Portrush but their is generally ample parking unless the tile centre is having a car park sale!! All in all, a winning cafe which I highly recommend. It's nice to have something like this that's local and doesn't require a trip into town. Lastly, they are quite kid friendly and will do their best to accommodate strollers. There are several high chairs available.

Reasonable costing pub food. Have been here twice recently and even though not very busy on both…read moreoccasions it seemed quite a while for the food to come out of the kitchen. The first time I was there we ordered food and drinks at the service area and told them our table number. What they didn't say is that we had to collect our own drinks from the wine service area, so we're sitting at our table for some time without realising our drinks were sitting on the bar. They serve Bleasdale sparkling red by the glass so that's a winner itself. We sat in the alcove surrounded by windows which is a pretty spot, and away from the playground entrance. I'd imagine it would be very noisy when full but for a weekday lunch very pleasant.

Everybody seems to love this place - but I feel like I'm missing something every time I go there…read more The food is average and the dining room is HUGE and I feel atmosphere-less. The ceiling is ten billion meters high and it makes it impossible to bring any life to the place. I have been there when it is quite busy, but I've also been there when we've been the second two people there, and they still sat us on the table that the other couple were sitting on when they were ordering. Awkward. The upstairs function room is very popular for birthdays and engagements, with it's own bar and all the facilities needed for photos and speeches. They host poker tournaments and karaoke, but I haven't been to see this in action. The pokies bar is always the busiest and you will see people having a smoke outside of this room at all hours of the night. When I can't think of a pub to go to, I usually end up here, but I'm pretty much always disappointed.

I adore this place .... one of the reasons I wouldn't move from NE Adelaide! The coffee is great, the pastries are divine and they have pizza I will only eat from here!

A few Italian people I know say it's a bit overpriced compared to the western suburbs, and I can see that it may be for some items, but I think they are not too bad. The layout of the store is typical Italian grocer, with as many items as they can fit and everything grouped logically, which I like. They have flour sections with descriptions of what the particular flours are best for (e.g. pizza/bread/pasta). They have a great range of cheeses and cold meats, fresh pasta, coffee, Italian wines and spirits, biscuits, cakes, sweets, antipasto and canned and jarred tomatoes, passatta and marinated everything. They also sell wholesale to caterers and event organisers and have delivery and a catalogue that can be requested from their website, where they also have recipes and events notices, such as wine tastings. On one end of the store there is also a bakery/pizza bar with barista coffee, authentic Italian pizzas and panini and freshly baked bread and pastries at a good price. It's worth checking out just for the bread. I bought a great large sourdough for about $5. Bellissimo.
