I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. I've been to the Westwood location several times, and the food there is always fresh, well presented, and delicious. Unfortunately, this was the complete opposite. The tacos looked like they were made from old, overcooked leftovers. The meat was dry and burned, and they were covered in so much sauce that they became completely soggy and fell apart. They were honestly inedible. I've attached a photo because the presentation speaks for itself. I know this restaurant is capable of much better based on my experience at Westwood, which made this visit even more disappointing. I hope they improve their consistency because this location did not meet the standard I expected. Also..... Our waitress ignored us for at least 10 minutes. We were actually about to get up and leave before anyone acknowledged us.

Barney's bakery is a great place because their menu is huge. I decided to get a steak fajita and it was delicious. The steak had perfect flavor and it had a great portion of peppers and onions! The great part is it did come with guacamole, but it didn't come with rice and beans. The Service was fast and the waitress was very nice! The ambience is a great and a bar atmosphere

Barney's is cool, love it on Thursdays when they have karaoke. First time trying their s'more's & I absolutely loved them lol, I think everyone at the table enjoyed them. It was a full house after the Mexico game but our waiter was very attentive. Had a mimosas as well (cranberry) and it was perfect. I didn't get to make it on the karaoke list, it was over 2h wait time! :(

We come to Barney's Beanery all the time--it's one of our go-to spots in Burbank. Great vibe, good food, and solid drinks every time. Big shoutout to Catherine, the bartender--she's always friendly, attentive, and makes us want to keep coming back. Definitely recommend!

This place has great food and service. I've been in a number of times and the ambience is my favorite. They have really yummy Cobb salads and great mixed drinks. We came in one night and they were doing karaoke. How fun! Parking is kind of tough since they're near the AMC, but we've always been able to find a spot if we look around. It's definitely a great spot to grab a bite to eat for anyone visiting downtown Burbank.

    BBQ JUICY LUCY

Barney's Beanery in Burbank delivered a great overall experience that came very close to perfection. The stuffed burger the BBQ Bacon Juicy Lucy was fantastic -- very juicy and cheesy, with the bun having just the right amount of squish. You could tell it was made with care. The fries or potato wedges were bomb -- super crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The wings were another plus. They were very tasty and absolutely piping hot when they arrived at the table -- exactly how all wings should be served. Alongside the meal, I ordered a Stella Artois, it was one of the coldest beers I've ever had in a restaurant. It was so chilled that tiny ice chips had formed inside, making it incredibly refreshing. I think they knew how cold it would be because they gave me a room temperature glass which would have ruined the ice cold Stella so I drank it from the bottle. Unfortunately, the meal took a dip when the Route 66 pizza sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni, came out. It was a total disappointment. The flavor just wasn't there -- the sauce( what sauce) if there was any sauce it tasted bland, the pepperoni was thin and unflavorful, the sausage was unsavory and the dough had no character. It felt like there was no real love or effort put into creating it. After such standout dishes earlier in the meal, the pizza which was last to the table, was a big letdown and dragged down what could have been a perfect dining experience. I even took it home and airfield it to give it a second chance before I wrote this review.. No Thanks it was slightly better but after 2 bites of the first slice.. I was over the pizza...just not good... Overall, Barney's Beanery should have scored a solid 5 out of 5 for the atmosphere, the excellent service from Denisse, the stuffed burger, and the bone-in Buffalo wings. But because of the bland pizza, I'd have to give it a 4 out of 5. Still, I highly recommend visiting for the Juicy Lucy burger and wings --iMO just skip the pizza, dont even think about getting the pizza.

I have been a huge Barney's fan for over a decade, but didn't think of checking out the one in Burbank until now. It is the closest to my house and an easy quick drive. The parking is right next door in a garage that is free for three hours -- so convenient. The vibe and the menu are what I love about Barney's. It is so funky, so much fun, so filled with memorabilia to study, and then there are the screens at every table to entertain us with whatever is current in sports this weekend. We laughed the whole time at the timber contest events, for example. The service was great. Michael greeted us and took care of everything we needed. He was even able to make suggestions for me to ensure I had the vegetarian/vegan version of the dishes I wanted to order. Then there is that menu, OMG. It is pages long, filled with delicious (and a bit fattening, just saying ...) things that I expect when I choose to come to Barneys. From appetizers to desserts and drinks, everything is decadent and wonderful. See my pictures for what we chose. The portions are gigantic, so we took a huge bag home. The bill was really reasonable, even with the extra jumbo container of vegetarian chili I ordered -- it was so good! Everything is clean from floor to ceiling. We go at an off hour to make sure we get the seat of our choice and even so, the bar tables were filled with people watching the Dodgers, cheering and having a good time. Their joy was contagious. This is a place to take anyone and everyone from kids to grandparents. What little changes would I suggest? The tartar sauce was weird -- very rubbery and slimy. We couldn't eat it. The Caesar had a bit more dressing than we prefer. My Huevos Rancheros were fabulous but very hot and spicy -- I'm cool with that, but I think they should ask mild, medium, hot, etc. But, it doesn't matter. I love that place and it is on the regular rotation now, in beautiful downtown Burbank!

Great spot with too many tvs and too many tables. Who else can say that in Los Angeles? Decent beer selection, great choices for food as well. One of my "friends" got french toast while I had a different thing that was great. Talk about a wild ride. Service was great and knew how to handle our group of 47. I also needed assistance and received the assistance that I needed but with a smile. They really went above and beyond to get our items to everyone as fast as the could. I think only one item was "late" out of way too many for me to even bring up here because who in their right mind would read a review that was so specific to their experience that the review wouldn't really help others decide if they should go to the establishment or not? I also won some money at pool. The pool table is a classic bar table (not the full size but we had most of the room we needed - plus I had all the room I needed to win). In one situation, I wanted to close out but also wanted to add a drink. Things went well. Thank you

This is a cool spot buried near the mall and sandwiched between all the endless restaurants in Burbank. I came here with a few friends and we couldn't find anywhere to go for a beer that wasn't packed due to the UFC fight being televised. Long behold, we found this place. We grabbed a beer by the bar while waiting for our seat to be cleared. The food here is pretty good. We got the asada nachos and BBQ burger and more beers. Interesting setting with tons of photos placed underneath the glass of the tables you are dining at. I had to laugh at one particular photo of Diddy placed next to Marilyn Manson. Kayla was our server and was very attentive. The restrooms were clean and the service was great. If your in the area and in a pinch like we were with all the bars/restaurants being packed or placed with cover charges due to the fights being televised, i recommend coming here.

Fantastic service. The nachos (enough for two of us) were great. The bartender recommended the spicy margarita and it was perfect. Stacey was attentive and very helpful. TV everywhere with sports and movies on. Perfect spot before a show.

Ask the Community - Barney's Beanery

Would it be ok to bring a toddler here on a weeknight? Just looking to pop in to say hi to a friend who's having a party here.

Totally fine.. plus there is so much there for your toddler to look at.

Are vaccine cards required? And if so can you show proof of a negative Covid test result?

We didn't have to show ours the last time we went and this was on a Sunday at 1045 before the hockey game started.

Will the smoking patio reopen now that the county is opening up again on 6/15/21 and lifting mask mandates?

The patio outside has been open for a while and as long as you're outside you can smoke and not need a mask

Is this place opened during covid? If yes, are there outdoor seating with TVs?

    Can we wear sandals?

I wear mine there. They have never said anything to me.

    Can you smoke here?

There is a small patio smoking section. Check with your servers to confirm which side is approved.

    Is the patio small-dog friendly?

I've seen people with small dogs attached with leashes in the patio sections so I would say yes,

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. They kept the food and drinks coming and frequently checked on us so kudos to them. Only obstacle was asking one of them a bunch of menu questions and food recommendations but he is vegan so had no opinions since most of the menu is meat. On to the food. The best things were the hummus/pita starter, and that's about it. The pretzel was ok but all 3 dips were not mustard based so lame. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs. While cutting them they squirted me which I thought was a good sign, but they had no flavor and basically no sauce. There is a fine line between charred and burnt and they started to cross the line, just tasted like burnt charcoal. I doused them in their original BBQ sauce and it actually made them worse; the sauce just tastes like liquid spice and also had no distinct flavor. Can't ruin fries... wrong! They were overly fried and any potato remnants had been cooked away. The coleslaw was not coleslaw, it was just chopped up purple cabbage, totally inedible. Some other food reviews from my coworkers. Fish and chips: dry Fried pickles: where are the pickles Miso cod: not good Bacon burger: also not good Chicken wings: you guessed it I also got one of 3 sour beer options, The Who Likes Orange Soda, which magically tasted like half sour beer half orange soda. It was ok but towards the end I just wished I had gotten a sour beer instead of an orange soda. Considering how poor the food quality is, I'd say the menu is wildly overpriced. The place has a chill vibe, so it's not a bad option to have a beer and watch some sports on TV, but I would highly advise eating before going so you are full and don't make the mistake of ordering food.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

I ordered at the bar like always, and the bartender took my order and then walked towards the kitchen. Now I know they usually give you your drink right then and there, but they were busy and I assumed he was going to take care of something else first, which is completely fine! What I didn't expect was this other bartender, who was on the complete other side of the bar and didn't communicate me with at all, was actually filling my drink. I didn't realize that, because he didn't tell me, so I turned to walk back to my table. This rude bartender thought I was abandoning my drink or something, and used his big boy voice to yell "YOUR DRINK!" so loudly that everyone at the bar stopped to stare at me, and some were laughing. Now I didn't know that intentionally embarrassing your patrons is how you guys do business, but ok, whatever makes you feel important I guess... The original bartender who took my order came by and checked and on our table later in the night, and he asked us something that neither my friend or I could hear, so I said "I'm sorry, what?" and he rolled his eyes and walked away. Alternatively, a few months ago, my husband and his friend came here and they received the complete opposite treatment - free drinks, conversations with the bartenders, and were welcomed. I never come into a restaurant/bar, especially a small business, expecting anything for free, that isn't my point at all. I do however expect basic manners and respect. Based on our very different experiences recently, there does seem to be a hint of misogyny going on here. This place used to be cool and friendly, and food has always been great, but the men who work here completely ruin it. It's really disappointing.

Think about it: they're running the entire operation behind the scenes- servers, inventory, scheduling, front of house, kitchen area, customers, and putting up with all the nonsense in between, and I know there's a lot of *that* as a former restaurant worker myself! That's why Allison at Finney's is so kick-ass. She runs Finney's flawlessly. I'm a big foodie and hit up lots of different restaurants around LA, and Finney's in Burbank has definitely become my go-to spot. Allison does such a great job of providing a great customer experience from the moment I walk in to paying my tab. It's not just her welcoming demeanor, but it's also the same positive energy I see in the staff when she's running things. It's nice to know there are still places that care about a great customer experience and making you and your friends right at home, especially when you're celebrating with some of your closest friends and creating perhaps some of your final memories of LA.

The host sat us down at a two top. It felt quite small, so we asked if we could move to the booth that just opened up. Very pleased that they didnt even hesitate to let us. We ordered the house IPAs and they were deliciously hoppy. Will be back to try their other house beers for sure. We ordered the brussel sprouts with bacon for our appetizer. The figs was such a nice sweet layer to the crispy, crunch, and tart brussels. Paired well with the bacon too. Ordered the proscuitto with arugula flatbread for our "main". Amazed that it was $14 and it was a pretty big flatbread! I would say that the proscuitto wasnt spread out enough. There were some pieces that didnt have any at all! The proscuitto gave the salty, arugula added a nice pepper flavor, and the honey drizzle gave it a sweetness. Checked all the boxes. Will definitely be back to try more of their bar bites, if not just for that flatbread and beers!

The plush loveseats and faint music are enough to put you to sleep after dinner. That being said dinner was magical not only is their tomato soup an excellent match with their garlic broccolini flat bread but the scallops were very well done and have an amazing flavor. The 8ounce steak was ordered medium rare and was extremely tender and flavorful the tagliatelle bolognese was creamy and came with great fresh herbs on top. The drinks were also amazing the blackberry mocktail and especially the blackberry vodka cocktail that cocktail is enough to have you swimming in the hotel pool. Overall very satisfied with the food, drink and especially the aesthetic of the restaurant. Much love to our wonderful staff that night for the sorbets on our anniversary dinner. Many thanks.

Sit on the patio to enjoy the full effect of the fairy lights, fireplace and cozy spaces meant for an intimate date. I had their Old Fashioned which was banana flavored for summer. The banana was a more subtle finish, not sweet, but I still prefer their peach version and wish it was also on the menu. The deviled eggs are just the right bite for drinks. We also had the flatbread and hummus, made with green garbanzo beans and served with watermelon radish and pita bread. TIP: if you like biscuits, order theirs! Put your order in right away because they're baked fresh for you and they take a while. With the honey butter, it's perfect! Service is consistently good! From the hostess stand to the bar, it doesn't matter where you are, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Servers read your vibe well and respond accordingly, providing excellent service for a date night or family/friends gathering.
