Great and small local book store. Good for return pass through to see the new or changing shelves…read more With rewards for some small discounts over time as you pickup gifts or fill your library. Like any small bookstore it works because you can come and work with them for what you need, and make a visit of a walk about to anything else in Vienna. Simple if only lacking more space for even more offerings, or any used and related. All the usual small shop charm items, small book lover trinkets and items to pickup if you need some decorations.

It fits right in with the large amount of stores and restaurants in the area. There were several families and people there reading. It was very hot outside so it was nice to stay inside and do some reading. There is a Starbucks inside which provides great coffee drinks. I was able to get an iced coffee and sit down and read one of the new books. I spent a good amount of hours here hanging out. I love this addition to the Mosaic District. I hope this place picks up and more people come and review. I am a big fan of Barnes and Noble and will come back here again.

She didn't offer a bag when it was RAINING HARD and I had purchased more than 3 books . She handed me one after I asked, and then didn't even bag them herself. (You're getting paid to be a cashier, act like one.) Mind you, this is the second time I've experienced a rude cashier with poor, disgruntled attitude.

I like that this B&N has CHAIRS!!! I think the chairs are such an underrated feature of B&Ns, and I appreciate that this one has little reading 'nooks' throughout the store, so you can kind of hang out and enjoy the bookstore ambiance while you read and maybe sip your little drinky drink! This is one of the few Barnes locations in the surrounding areas that actually has chairs and/or book nooks. The employees are very nice and helpful and the store is always in good order and clean. I've had no issues in this store. The only thing that I might consider a potential downside is that this location is quite busy typically, so if you're looking for a quiet, empty Barnes, this isn't the one!

This DuPont Circle staple is a must-visit. It's an indie…read morebookstore with a full restaurant and bar. The dining area is so comforting and relaxing. I love that it's a solarium with murals and greenery. Like most bookstores, they host events from signings and readings to book clubs and art classes. Lots of staff-recommended books at any given time. It's a lovely experience to shop books here whether for yourself or someone else. The food is pretty good too.

Got iced tea with mine (they do hot tea too, both really good). The loaded lobster roll was better than I expected. Plenty of actual lobster, not a bunch of filler. Downloading is the new method of getting what you want, or listen to it on YouTube. Today, the main reason to visit the store was to use the bathrooms. Normally, Barns&Nobles aren't know for clean bathrooms. Today I was happy to see the men's bathroom were clean. Some toilet paper was on each side of a toilet and one stall had the remnants off processed food in the bowl, but otherwise clean. The ladies bathroom wasn't so nice for my wife. Probably someone didn't bother flushing after their daily deposit. Nevertheless, It has been a while since I was here. I might come back next week to look up some new books to read. Speaking of reading. I remember Barns&Nobles getting rid of the Pornograpy Magazines, but today I saw one name brand that is still standing. PENTHOUSE. Yes, one of the first Porongrapic magazines that got my attention as a teenager. Now that I think about it, I see the hair styles of the 90's that considered cool, but most guys did not care about that. I am rambling here, but it was amusing to see the two different styles of the same brand in the store. Penthouse Letters and Penthouse are the two brands. One probably has more reading if you are into that more than pictures. Last thing. The last magazine I remember getting of Penthouse cost $4.95. These magazines are just below $15.00 before tax. So we approached the front entrance with trepidation, not knowing what to expect when we stepped inside. But sure enough, just inside the front entrance was the custard counter. We arrived on a late Friday afternoon, walking over from The Sandwich Shop a few blocks down Church (same side of the street and walking right past Rita's (!!)) after having a late sammie lunch (also our first time at The Sandwich Shop - read my review). We had spotted Kiln & Custard as we drove past it to get to the sandwich place and made a mental note to save room to try their custard as a cap-off to lunch. What a great location! Walkable anywhere from old town Vienna and the downtown area (nothing is really that far), tucked away one block off busy Maple Ave, surprisingly lots of great FREE street parking (on Church) but also right there in their small shopping center parking lot so it's truly not a pain-in-the-butt to head over and not have to stress about where to park. The guy serving the custard was also tending to customers doing pottery painting (not many when we arrived) - dunno how service is if you just come in for the custard and the place is packed (we saw that pottery customers had to ask the guy each time they wanted more paint which he portioned out for them...vs customers self-serving their own paint and colors in other paint-your-own places we've been to - with a single worker, I can imagine that could be a bottleneck problem if the pottery side is busy AND there's a line of custard customers waiting to be served). The frozen custard is DEEEEELICIOUS. You can definitely see as it's being scooped AND TASTE that it's housemade. SOOOOO GOOOD. Very creamy, soft, pliable, rich custard flavor and not too sweet. They offer 12 flavors - see my pics of the 2 display cases of custards. PRICES IMO ARE VERY REASONABLE. $2.85 for a kid's size, GENEROUS HEAVY HANDED PORTIONS (and who doesn't love THAT in this economy?!). I had the Vanilla Oreo and my friend had the Nutella - a perfect after-lunch dessert treat. TREMENDOUS! For the price, generous portion sizes, quality of the custard combined with its easily accessible location in Vienna and no hassle parking options, this could for sure be a destination frozen-treat shop when I'm in the Vienna area (which is fairly regularly).
