It's been awhile since I stepped inside a Barnes & Noble. It smells just like I remember it. That scent of new books. I love it. There is a wide variety of books to choose from. Some with great deals and some with a fair price. During the time I came, there were not plenty of staff present so if I did have a question, I would have to hunt for someone. I LOVE BOOKS! Barnes and Noble is instant magic once you walk through their door. You're immediately met with a "fresh book" smell mixed with a hint of Starbucks brew. It's a book lover's dream. I love to see both young and old people alike enjoying this store every time I walk in. My Mom and I did a quick run to check out their selection and there was ALOT to choose from when it comes to classics and mystery novels. I wanted to see a bit more diverse texts considering it's the summer and we are kicking off celebrations of several communities. I'm not saying they only had classics, but they seemed to be the primary focus this time around. Nevertheless, I found many genres such as young adult, manga, cooking, banned books, romance, Spanish texts etc, but we need a bit more variety to amplify more voices! I absolutely love that Barnes and Noble has a collectibles & board games, and an entire section for young readers! It's super inclusive for new readers and collectors alike. I picked up a Funko Pop! while I was at it and a Hunger Games pin, so iconic! Barnes and Noble has a several deals like $10 books and light reads for under $10 dollars. If you're on a budget there's a few options. The classic books were around $25 for a glamorous hardcover copy of texts like The Odyssey. These covers are gorgeous and perfect for home libraries. The staff are very nice at this location, they always make sure to provide a discount to the Starbucks cafe inside B&N at checkout. My only suggestion is that the restroom be checked more frequently, it had toilet paper on the floor and the roll dispenser looked like it was about to pop off. read more

This store is wonderland! It looks amazing and smells just as good, love that fresh book smell. So many cool things to peruse besides just books, like craft sets, puzzles, socks, assorted coffee cups, kid's toys and so much more! This location is clean, organized, even the displays are completely eye catching. I could spend a whole day in here looking around just because it gives off such a warm-welcoming-come-enjoy-a-cup-of-coffee-and-snuggle-up-in-a-comfy-chair-with-a-good-book vibe. It's like entering an enchanted wonderland, once you enter, you may not be able to leave for a while. I just discovered today that their Starbucks cafe does not sell actual Starbucks cups/merchandise to save you cup hunters some time! read more

Barnes & Noble is a large chain bookstore, the last of its kind after Borders closed nationally. I like that the workers have quirky notecard summaries of books throughout the store to capture your eye. I came here primarily for a quiet place to get work done and there was a Starbucks seating area. Got a done since their hours are open until 9pm on all days except Sunday, which was slightly longer than other cafes. I also felt safer based on the clientele who shopped here. I absolutely loved this B&N location! They have a larger collection than some other B&Ns, but more importantly they have a fantastic staff. Every person I interacted with was so kind and helpful. I've haven't had so many team members approach me before to ask if I needed help, at least not in many years. My interactions here reminded me of what B&N used to be like many years ago. I alone would rate this location 5/5 stars just for their service, but I was impressed with their classics selection as well. Many B&Ns don't have large classics sections anymore, but this location had so many options and so many of the same books in different varieties like designs for matching sets. We had an Awful experience at this Barnes and Noble. The children's section was more like a preschool. There were children running around everywhere and screaming no employee asked them to stop running or stop screaming. We got coffee at Starbucks and it's was made wrong and when I told the barista she was ready to charge me more money to fix it. Although I believe that they need to STOP downsizing the Spanish section and they need to add books that are WRITTEN in Spanish not just translated from English!!!! Also this is a bookstore not a toy store if I wanted to hear noisy toys going off I would've gone to a kids store, of course I believe that kids should be pushed to read but that is done with BOOKs not toys that take up more than half of the store. They could expand so much more of their selection if they took out even half of the amount of shelves of toys they have!! read more

The staff and service here is always top notch! It really makes a difference when you're speaking with someone that truly loves what they do like the booksellers at B&N! Never an issue with parking here, and from when you enter until you're checking out... someone is always there to help which is much appreciated! My family and I have never had a hard time finding a book here that one of the booksellers didn't know where or what it was. The staff here also never seem to fail when offering suggestions on great reads. Truly enchanting experience when we were checking out here last Friday night; the bookseller working the register was giving great history and feedback on the author and genre of the book my wife was purchasing, And as I mentioned above it really is something else just listening to someone with a true passion for books talk about what they love. MORE OF THIS PLEASE!!! Whether you're looking for something to do with the family or maybe it's date night with your SO, come cruise around the Temecula Barnes & Noble and grab a coffee or tea at the Starbucks inside. 11/10 would recommend. I love brining my child to story time and to the children's section to look around and play but the last few times I have been the children's area has been so disgusting!!! The wooden floors and carpets are absolutely filthy. My son is still crawling and his hands and clothes were black from dirt and gunk crawling around in children's section. The reading stage had a lot of stains,trash and spills all over. Every parent there was so grossed out. Also the story time usually is around 3 books and this week it was one story and the leader just left right after reading, it was very odd. I'm sad to even write this review. read more

Every time I come here the staff are not helpful and today when we stopped by to do a return the Cashier Allyson was extremely rude. She had an attitude and was annoyed I was doing a return. This review is about their Starbucks that is in the book store. I am a vegetarian and I was very happy to see that there were several vegetarian options for savory food. Of course there's always sweets like cookies and cakes, but they have always had savory vegetarian foods as well. My favorite is the cheese-pretzel pastry. It's really good, especially when warm! I've tried several others and I was not disappointed. One important thing to note is that while have Starbucks coffee drinks, they don't have Starbucks' foods. And that's not bad. What is really wonderful is that they sell Cheesecake Factory brand cheesecake and it's heavily! The prices are fair. The waitresses are friendly. If not overworked and overwhelmed, but that's not their fault. So, the next time you want a good book and a coffee, this is the place. One sour point is that the tables are not cleaned often. This is the 2nd time this week that we went to the children's area. It's was littered so badly I went to the front desk to asking they could have someone clean it up before children's story time. I love going to this store until something strange occurred yesterday. The male cashier who checked me out threw away my gift card even though it had a balance of $22.70. I checked my receipt before I left the store and saw the balance and went back to the same cashier who told me he thought he gave it back to me. He checked all the cards he found in the trash and said none of them had a balance. The manager stepped in and said she would check the video since he claimed he handed the gift card back to me and I said he threw it away. Lo and hold after the manager saw the video he magically found my gift card and checked it and the balance matched to what was on my receipt. I don't understand how he thought he could get away with this. I guess he thought I would give up but thankfully there is a camera. read more

The original B & N on 18th Street in Manhattan used to be my college bookstore, long before Malls everywhere seemed to have one. Gone today are all their competitors (Borders, Waldenbooks and Brentano's), as the Amazon-ization of the U.S. has sweep them away, along with many of our much loved Mom 'n Pop bookstores. Remember Meg Ryan's little place in You Got Mail? Well B & N is still standing, just barely thanks to COVID and Amazon. It's still a fun place to wander and get lost in. There's nothing like the feeling of finding a "new read", that you didn't know existed. Our table in the Starbucks Cafe always seems to have a dozen or so books and magazines candidates on it, (just like it did this past Sunday). But we have also purchased at this location 1,000 piece puzzles, along with City Legos, which I find are fun to build. They also have a sizable Audio area, which stock some remastered vinyl records. Nice. We've found this B & N to be well kept and very clean. Also all the employees seem to enjoy going out of their way to be of helpful. But you would figure that, right? Yes, we still shop online. But there's nothing like coming home with a few new books after visiting here. read more

Barnes and Noble is the last bookstore standing, in this area, except for a used bookstore, that I also love. You have to applaud that! It weathered the storm of a recession and COVID and a recession now. That's truly a big deal. Is their selection as vast as it was pre these conditions? No, but is anything? I love going to bookstores and just smelling the knowledge they contain. Different subjects are given their own shelves to browse through and it's just fun! The people who work there are helpful and knowledgable. Small review cards are throughout, with their opinions of different categories. I like that! As an artist, I collect children's books for their illustrations. You can't check a books illustrations out on Amazon. Online, you have to rely on reviews and you might not always agree with those reviews, after you receive a book. Barnes and Nobles, in Temecula, has a lovely area for children's books, so I enjoy that. I love seeing parents, with their children, browsing those books as well. I went to Barnes and Noble just yesterday and had to reflect on the fact that it just makes me happy, to have a nice bookstore to go to. After I browsed, I took the art books I purchased, on sale, into the cafe and had a wonderful cup of decaf espresso, in a porcelain cup and a piece of Godiva chocolate cheesecake, as I reviewed my purchases. Friendly staff, clean, all of that is fine.. but does this book store stock ANY books? Literally any book In the fantasy, romance, epic fantasy, YA sections that I look for always says not in stock. I have searched for over 50 different books and none of them are carried. VERY popular books too. When I search for them it says nearby stores have them, and every Barnes except for this one has them. Even super popular romance books that are plastered all over social media and the NYT best sellers list they dont have. Just disappointing. read more

This is more directed at "Cassie R", who made a review yesterday regarding a situation that transpired. I'm not one to write reviews, but I was originally going to compliment the staff for their handling of some appalling behavior after witnessing what I did yesterday while browsing the store for books for my kids. I happen to be standing near a group of employees when I hear a family talking a loudly about not buying books here anymore, obviously loud enough so others will be sure to hear. Ok? Weird, I think to myself. You know that tension you feel rising? Like something is about to go down? Ya. It did. The dad, or so I assumed it was the sad, blatantly in front of the kid's, "don't laugh bitch! If that makes me an asshole, then I'm an asshole." (Right after one of the employees kind of tried smirking it off.) Another fellow costumer, who witnessed this ridiculous outburst as well, says "wow dude!! In front of your kids??" Then the dad yells at the top of his lungs, "FUCK YOU BITCHES!" As the mom flips everyone off and they head out the entrance. Me, along with a couple others walk up to the employees asking if they were ok. This was horrible to see. Horrible way to act! We asked what the heck happened. Turns out they were triggered after being told they can't sit in the kids section looking through books because of COVID. Found out after briefly talking with another costumer. (Most places of business won't let you do this. It's not uncommon) Please, before you write a ridiculous review about "terrible" employees, really think about writing an unbiased review or at the very least, a truthful one. I think they handled it beautifully all things considered. They didn't escalate the situation after it got out of hand. I think we were all a bit stunned. I have come to BN for years, and always had a very happy experience and found every employee I have come in contact with extremely helpful. This is a weird time people, please chill out! For some reason, I get followed around the store when shopping even though I do not dress like I am homeless and I have gone there for 4 years on a regular basis. I spend lots of money as well and eat at the cafe, which is a nightmare. I am positive one of the cashiers deliberately put an alert on my card because she was acting uncomfortable with me a week ago. I used another card but called my bank. They said the store did not even try to process the card or it would be in the record. Then this weekend I tried a different card with plenty of $$ as well and the cashier said they needed to walk me to the regular checkout at the front of the store and ring me up because the credit system was down. I asked if I could just use my debit in that case but she said "Direct payment" is required. My card worked fine. Again, there was not record they tried to charge my card. read more
