We usually go to a be Barnes & noble in Warwick bc we live closer to that one but this one did not disappoint. It's right next to Ulta and a few other stores that I personally enjoy shopping. My husband mentioned that the shopping center was literally created for just me because it has a lot of my favorite shops in the same center. Extremely friendly employees that helped my husband find the medical books that he was looking for and my sons all found something that they wanted. I will probably go back to buy some calligraphy pens that I saw. I'm just an amazing vibe all around. They had some great deals on some books and other items I bought my husband some posts that said number one Dad on it. I love that there's a place for you to get coffee so that you can sit there and enjoy some coffee while shopping around. read more

Hello Barnes & Noble Customer Service, I am writing to share a concern regarding a recent in-store purchase. While waiting in line at one of your locations, I heard the cashier tell my party and two other customers, "I'm sorry, we are out of pennies." The cashier then rounded the total down and retained the remaining two cents from our purchase. While I understand that two cents may seem insignificant, customers should not lose money--no matter how small the amount--without consent or compensation. Although there is currently a penny shortage, that does not justify a business retaining customers' money. If this practice occurs regularly, the amounts add up quickly. For example, retaining just $0.02 from 25 customers per day equals $182.50 per year at a single store. Across 721 Barnes & Noble locations, that totals over $131,000 annually. I understand operational challenges, but customers should not bear the cost. Clear policies, transparency, or alternatives--such as rounding in the customer's favor--would be more appropriate. I appreciate your time and hope you will review this practice. read more

You can literally always find me in a Barnes & Noble when I travel to a new city. This time was no different and I was not disappointed. This location has to be one of my favorites. I was here just about every other day working on homework assignments and grabbing a Hazelnut Nonfat Latte with a Tomato Caprese sandwich from the Cafe. Books perfectly stacked and inviting, sales and little trinkets throughout. I was greeted every time I entered and asked if I needed help every time I passed an associate. This is a great location if you're looking for that next read or trying to get some work done. Definitely stop at this location and relax. read more

Love this particular Barnes & Noble location. The café area is a perfect spot to read and study while enjoying a coffee and treat. Staff is usually really friendly and helpful at the café. This is a nice well stocked , organized book store. I always enjoy walking around and checking out the different aisles of books wether your looking for a good book to get lost in or enjoy cooking or history . You can sit relax get a coffee and read a while to make sure that is the book for you. Comfortable setting. No rush . If you have the kiddies take them to the large kids area and let them check out all the books , toys etc just for them. I believe they have a story time at certain times. Check it out . What can you say. It's a Barnes & Noble bookstore. I guess what you could say is that I feel thankful there's still a brick and mortar where I can touch and see books. It adds a totally different dimension to your buying experience and going on Amazon or any other site. I love independent bookstores but there is so few that I am thankful Barnes & Noble still exist. Nice, large, clean store. Employees seem helpful. There is a cafe and areas with chairs and couches to lounge and relax. They have a lot of bargain books, but watch the price when they ring up! I got back home and noticed that I was charged full price for two of the bargain books I bought. I had to go back and got a $27 credit. The very apologetic employee that took care of me said it happens way more than it should. read more

It's a fairly new Barnes and noble...has a music, movie, and book section as well as cafe. Pretty similar to most Barnes and nobles I've been to. If you like reading and or media, this is the place for you. It is also located in a strip mall with sports authority and EMS sports, so if you're looking to burn a couple hours not a bad please to browse. There are several signed editions of books at this location, you just have to look for the sticker on the cover. They are hidden in plain sight throughout the store. read more

I spend WAY too much time at the Newport Public Library as it is, but when I'm in a holiday mood and willing to drop some cash on books, the Middletown Barnes & Noble is my destination! It's located in a shopping center off of the main road in Middletown, so you'll find plenty of parking, as well as a Michael's, DSW Shoes, Ulta Beauty, Petco, and Hallmark Paper Store to complete your day of shopping. As for the Barnes & Noble itself, it's very spacious, clean, and well stocked. You can find a ton of great items here besides books, like vinyl albums, toys, and desktop accessories. I am currently typing this Yelp review on a LapDesk that I got at this store, and it's been a godsend since I love lounging on the couch and writing reviews! There's also a Starbucks Cafe inside of the bookstore, and you can grab a coffee or tea to accompany your reading adventure. This is one of my favorite spots on Aquidneck Island! read more

LOVE IT. Of course I love bookstores. And who wouldn't? All that information, all that literature, all that wsidom in one place? I went with one taks at hand. To obtain Napa and Sonoma Day by Day. They had it. Perfect. So I wandered. And remembered that I also wanted some book that a bunch of peoople had listed as the last great book that they had read. Could I remember the name? Not a chance. But with the help of the very nice people working there I did indeed pick up a copy of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Psyche! I was in Newport for some business and had some free time to kill and elected to stop in to browse. This place is pretty big and clean. I like how they always have these two rows in the front of the store that have discounted merchandise which was awesome. Picked up a few books at a great deal. This is just the usual Barnes & Nobel that I've seen throughout my life but this one was better because there weren't kids running around all over the place. It's in a quiet area, only bookworms and scholars were there so the whole time I was browsing, looking around and whatnot, I enjoyed the ambiance of a quiet, library like atmosphere. The parking lot was huge and there is a Michaels adjacent to this place which I also love to shop in. Overall, this place was great but still somewhat pricey. read more

GIANT location, plus a coffee shop inside. IF I was still in college... well, I don't know if I'd study here, but, you catch my drift. Came in here to purchase a Moleskine notebook because I'm OCD like that and it's the ONLY notebook I like to journal in. It will be journal #8 and it is ESSENTIAL that all of my journals, when on the shelf, create a perfectly uniform appearance and at the bottom on the binding are labeled by year. Goes 1-7. This was stop 1 on my "try to motivate yourself beyond the terrible grips of this hellacious chemical imbalance called despair" -- you know, 'connect' with yourself, your inner child, your spirit, your shriveled up left over ... WHATever.... Notebook is still wrapped in plastic, btw. It was cool though, I was able to score a limited edition STAR WARS moleskine and it was only $2 more (I'm worth it). On the cover it says: YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE. I kinda dig it. After all, I am decidedly in 'recovery' -- no more weed, no more booze, nothing. Just me, myself, and a bright clean clear future and happy mind. You can get anything at this place. It's one of the biggest bookstores I've ever been in. Totally legit, and smells like coffee. I love Barnes and Noble! I can spend hours in there! In fact, I just did! The staff is great! Friendly, informative, and they make great suggestions for customers! The store is clean, spacious, and they have a wide selection of books. The only reason why I took away a star is because of their lack of publications after the 1980's. No, this does not mean they do not sell books WRITTEN before the 1980's, this means that they only have a few select books that are PUBLISHED before the 1980's. For instance, I was looking for a few books by Thomas Pynchon. They only carried the books that were published after 1986, which put a total damper on my senior project! But that is all I have to complain about! Otherwise, this store is a wonderful trap that lures you in with spectacular stories and reads! read more

Fantastic selection of books. If they don't have it, they will order it. Not only that, but their CD, movie, and record selection is great! I go there for their Criterion Collection DVDs and Blurays on the regular. I got a copy of the "Devil's Rejects," and "8 Mile," soundtracks on CD in 2018! Can you say "awesome?!" Their staff is kind, courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I love it. There is a Starbucks inside of the book store. Sometimes I go to this particular Barnes & Noble just to get a coffee and sit in a comfy chair and read my own books. It's like having the best of both worlds. read more

I love Barnes and Noble, I can never walk into there without buying a book. The store could use an update since it's been the same for so long. The children's book section is usually a mess. But the saddest part is the Starbucks add-on. Since it's apart of Barnes and Noble, gift cards of Starbucks or the app can't be used. I love going into a Barnes and noble, buying a book and coffee then heading out into the store to read it in their comfy chairs. It can be so much nicer then the library but this Barnes and noble doesn't have that feel at all. They got rid of some of their chairs making it feel empty where they took them out and the ones they kept are kind of old. It just doesn't feel as inviting. This B&N has an appearance that is a bit out dated compared to the other shops I have been to. There is lots of space by the entrance but the rest of the store feels a little tight. The children's section is nice, smaller than other B&N, very tidy. The music section is extremely small, DVDs and CDs are more expensive compared to other stores. There is a cafe with Starbucks drinks, note you, you can't use your Starbucks card or gift cards here but if you are a B&N member you can use your discount here. The cafe area is also tiny, the location is fantastic, easy to get work done with little distraction. It can be difficult to wave down an employee here for assistance, I have gotten into the habit of going straight to the information desk instead. I think this location would really benefit from getting an upgrade like most B&Ns have now! It would be beneficial for customers and give more of that sense that it's okay to stick around and enjoy a bookstore. read more

They won't let you return books that you got as Christmas gifts ! So now I'm stuck with these books! They don't offer store credit or exchange ! The store assistant Eileen Noble acts like she owns the bookstore and is rude very and unprofessional! She's not fit to work with the public! I ate in the café several times but recently I came down with food poisoning, twice in a month! Several of my friends who eat there also have gotten sick. The staff is extremely friendly in the café including their wonderful café manager but when I brought this to the attention of a store manager, she was extremely rude and refused to even look into the situation. She argued with me on the process and timeframes of food poisoning even though that was the only thing I ate that day! She didnt even say I'm sorry you got sick or how are you feeling today? I am pretty sure it was the Naked drinks they keep in their open cooler that doesnt seem to stay cold. I have heard from friends that they got sick from the pizza, cheesecake, and bagels. I will never eat or drink there again although I miss the people who work there because they are all so great. (except the manager I dealt with, she had like 50 earrings in her ear.) I hope no one else gets sick because it was some of the most horrible sick experiences of my life. I don't even want to shop in the store because of the way that manager treated me and the situation. Watch what you eat folks, and I am sure others have stories to share! I hope they do so they will actually do something about it. read more
