From a bright and inviting children's and young adult section to the subterranean stacks of travel books, you will be able to shop for bibliophiles of any age. In addition to the books, they also host weekly and monthly programming, spotlighting authors who travel to give live readings and workshops, and host storytime on weekday afternoons for families to enjoy together. I love the community engagement of Charter Books, and every visit makes you feel at home with their warm, friendly, and knowledgeable team. Charter is easily one of my top five favorite shops in Newport - highly recommend!

My husband mentioned that the shopping center was literally created for just me because it has a lot of my favorite shops in the same center. Extremely friendly employees that helped my husband find the medical books that he was looking for and my sons all found something that they wanted. I will probably go back to buy some calligraphy pens that I saw. I'm just an amazing vibe all around. They had some great deals on some books and other items I bought my husband some posts that said number one Dad on it. I love that there's a place for you to get coffee so that you can sit there and enjoy some coffee while shopping around.

Prices are on the high side so plan accordingly but I feel the quality and uniqueness is worth it. If you see something, regret not getting it, you can either go back or order it to be shipped right to you. While I throughly enjoy a niche market, products and support the message of this shop, it definitely has very strong messaging that some might not like. However, that's what I love about Newport! No one is afraid to stand on their beliefs and open a store with those beliefs front and center. I am definitely going to enjoy this establishment again! Especially on a nice warm summer day. I cannot wait to buy a few more things. Only draw back is the store is small and if you have any type of mobility device like a scooter or wheelchair, you are not going to be able to maneuver around the store and handicapped parking is at quite a distance. I ambulate with a cane so it was easier for me but I did have a hike to get there.
