In addition to the books, they also host weekly and monthly programming, spotlighting authors who travel to give live readings and workshops, and host storytime on weekday afternoons for families to enjoy together. I love the community engagement of Charter Books, and every visit makes you feel at home with their warm, friendly, and knowledgeable team. Charter is easily one of my top five favorite shops in Newport - highly recommend!

My husband mentioned that the shopping center was literally created for just me because it has a lot of my favorite shops in the same center. Extremely friendly employees that helped my husband find the medical books that he was looking for and my sons all found something that they wanted. I will probably go back to buy some calligraphy pens that I saw. I'm just an amazing vibe all around. They had some great deals on some books and other items I bought my husband some posts that said number one Dad on it. I love that there's a place for you to get coffee so that you can sit there and enjoy some coffee while shopping around.

The drinks they made were fine and some were very good, but one of the more memorable cocktails was the Manhattan Transfer, which was very strong and pleasant. I also liked The Hive. It was light, citrusy and just simple. My friends and I were surprised that everything was so reasonably priced that we ended up trying all the cocktails on the menu and a few local beers.
