Interesting location. Very clean yet the employees could be a bit more alive. I mean I know it's a book store but hey put a smile on your face; whisper hellos! It was very dry as far as service but it was a very clean and well spread location.

To occupy my time, I wanted to pick up a good read. Well, thanks to this Barnes & Noble, I was able to find this interesting book. This bookstore is less than 5-10 minutes from the hotels and surrounded by a host of restaurants and other stores such as Target, H&M, CVS, Food Lion, and Walgreens. When you're on travel, it's nice to easy access to such amenities. Great location.

One of the reason why I'm giving this Barnes and Nobles a five stars review is because I been searching high and low for a hard copy of Unwind by Neal Shusterman for years and out of god grace I found just one at this location! I'm very impressed by the locations very large selection of books and magazines as well as amine and comics books. My husband and I love going to this location to read and relax from a stressful week!

It's more then a bookstore. I like the ability to pickup books, music, toys and a coffee in one stop. Store has a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to grab a book, a coffee and curl up in a chair in the corner. An employees I have come across always ask if I need help and if I'm seeking assistance I never have to look far. Clean store and plenty of parking as it's connected to other stores in the shopping plaza.

This Barnes & Noble store is located in the bustling Peninsula Town Center. I can remember the old B&N store that existed before the old Coliseum Mall was razed and rebuilt. This store is aesthetically pleasing -- I'm a huge fan of brick and mortar -- the rebuild merits much praise. Parking: Abundant. However, I've noticed that there's a fenced off area in the front parking lot where it appears a restaurant is coming. Either case, there's still parking in the adjacent JC Penny parking lot, the side and to the rear of B&N. Be advised that the parking in the rear of the store (the side that faces into the town center) and along the side of the building are metered. The parking in the JC Penny lot is free but you'll have to cross a street to get to B&N. Interior: Typical B&N layout. No real surprises to speak of. When you enter from the front the registers are on your left hand side and the cafe is on the right. It's a well sized store but all on one level. From outside it looks like a 2-story building but I believe the upstairs portion is solely for staff/storage usage. To the rear (or front, depending on if you choose to enter from the town center side) there's the music section. I can remember a time when I spent hours in B&N reading magazines and listening to samples of music. It strikes me odd to see CDs...I'm a mp3 junkie now. The cafe is spacious with quite an abundant amount of seating. There's free wifi but not many places to plug your electrical devices in to recharge...bummer. Staff: I can only speak and rate from MY personal experience from the times I've visited this store; I've never encountered a problem with the customer service. They aren't exactly the most engaging types but anytime I've asked for help finding something they happily obliged. Final thoughts: Newest B&N that I know of in the metro area and I like the fact that its located in a bustling location so that I can multitask if the need ever arises. Hopefully your experience(s) here will be as well as mine have been.

Barnes & Noble has been the premiere store in the Hampton Roads area for books in my opinion. I usually always find the exact book I am and looking for. They now offer price matching to their online prices, which can offer great deals, even for new releases. The staff is very helpful and are swift in their assistance. They have a nice Starbucks cafe shop, in which I wish had bigger tables outlets for computer use.

2nd & Charles in Hampton is one of my favorite "happy accidents" in the area. If you love books,…read moregames, records, or just browsing something that feels genuinely fun instead of generic, this place delivers every time. It's one of those shops where you can wander for way longer than you planned and still feel like you got something out of the trip. The selection is solid and eclectic. They've got new and used books across genres, a great vinyl section that actually changes often enough to make repeat visits worth it, and a lot of tabletop games and collectibles that aren't shoved into a corner. Everything is easy to flip through, and it doesn't feel like sensory overload. Staff are friendly and actually seem to know (or want to help you find) what you're looking for, which is something I don't take for granted. No blank stares or "I guess?" answers when I ask about a genre or game system. What I love most is that it doesn't feel like a chain store experience. It feels local, personal, and like a place that rewards curiosity. Whether I'm picking up a book I've had my eye on, discovering an album I forgot I wanted, or grabbing something neat for someone else, I always leave feeling like it was time well spent. If you're the kind of person who likes real browsing not the "hit checkout immediately" vibe this store is absolutely worth a stop. I'll definitely be back. My kid could stay there all day and be happy but I would be broke so we keep it to a time limit. Be careful!

I love this place. Huge selection. Hands-down one of the best shops in the area. They also buy used…read morebooks, so keep them in good shape.
