It has a great selection from children's books right up to current adult books. The staff was friendly and offered to help us find anything when we arrived but also left us alone to look which I always appreciate. There is a cafe attached which offers simple non fancy coffees. My daughter was absolutely fine with that since a simple black coffee is her way to go. We purchased a few books that have been on our TBR and will definitely be back soon!

We looked at their books, crystals, and spiritual items while waiting for our food. We got our food from Jikoni Cafe which is located inside The House of Consciousness. They sell vegan food, smoothies, and desserts. There were DVD's and CDs on clearance for $1. Which was a good deal. The cashier and the cook were both very friendly and patient with all the questions we had about the different dishes. The have some unique jewelry pieces for sale, which I like. The store is clean inside, the bathroom is also clean, and there's a few couches and tables you can lounge at, or you can dine in. The fireplace heater was going and it made it feel toasty and comfortable inside. I don't come to the area often, but when I do, I always stop here. Street parking is available. Check them out!

The rest of the store was filled with books, soaps, herbs, and such. I jetted to the counter to see what I can order. The menu is on a chalk board and I quickly ordered the vegan sausage and fried plantains. The guy behind the counter seemed spaced out, I couldn't understand him and he wasn't really customer-servicey (a word I made up) but yet he seemed nice? Yeah it's a mix emotion here..He proceeded to make my order and I noticed he wasn't wearing gloves, matter of fact he wasn't wearing a mask! And as a matter of fact NO ONE wasn't wearing a mask in this place!! I believe this establishment is into the whole herbal, natural healing vibe which I don't knock because it is important but we are still in a pandemic!!! At this point I wanted to cancel my order.
