Looking for one book and wanting more. I came here after a friend's recommendation. He told me I could spend all day in here; he was right. I was only looking to get this week's issues (it was NCBD) but they do they have back issues. And I mean plenty of back issues. It's separated by modern and copper/silver age. The golden age stuff is in the walls. They don't sell too many slabs but they have them. There's plenty of figures and vintage toys. This place is an 80's guys and gals dream. Overall 5 stars. I don't live in the area but if I did, I could spend all my Wednesdays here. read more

A very large, very old classic comic book store with an amazing selection. You'll find whatever you want here, but you might have to dig and move some boxes to find it. PROS: Massive back issue bin selection. A lot of paperbacks from superhero, manga, and some indie. You'll find that brand new thing you are looking for as well as that dusty old weird thing you've been hunting for. A pure, traditional comic shop that sells mainly comics, and not too much gaming stuff or funko pops. Although, they have a ton of statues and vintage figures. Not much as far as discount bins go, but they have sales pretty regularly. CONS: The only con is the presentation. These guys go from convention to convention and the result is the shop is often treated as more of a warehouse than a typical retail store. Lots of boxes on top of back issue bins, in the way of the goods. And if you find a comic you like sitting on top of a random stack on the floor? It might not be processed yet, so it might not be for sale, or may be more expensive than you thought. But it's worth it, don't let that stop you. VERDICT: If you aren't afraid to dig or ask someone to help you find something, this shop is hard to beat. A classic store that isn't just serviceable to the locals, but should be a destination if you're from out of town trying to pick a shop in the area to visit. read more

This is probably the best selection of comic books I have ever seen! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The shop was a little bit difficult to navigate but they were also restocking at the time. Newer comics, however, are very easy to find and well organized. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for any obscure titles or older books. They even make it a point to order alternate covers for customers. read more

When I am in a new town for a few days I like to patronize the local comic story. Trilogy comics was the closest one to my hotel so, off I went. The store is tucked in a little plaza and is a typical, old school comic store. I don't mean that in a bad way, I mean it represents the comic stores of my youth. The store is a hot mess, not disorganized, I don't think, but stuff is everywhere. They have a healthy supply of old and new comics.l, used books and s little gaming shelf for classic rpg's. Since I was flying I settled on an old Dragon Magazine and left satisfied. The owner was friendly which makes this a store worth coming back to the next time I'm in town. read more

If you are someone who goes into a comic book store looking for particular titles or genres, this might not be the place for you. I have never seen a store in such a haphazard state. I first thought the comics were alphabetized by characters/heros, but if you wanted a wider series, such as Batman or Hellboy, then you'd have to find that separate subsection somewhere else in the store. There is no signage anywhere, and even adding that would be a relief to the unorganized environment this store maintains. read more

I'm shocked this place is still in business honestly. I stopped having anything to do with them after two incidents decades ago, both speak to the character of the owner, his wife an employees and the business practices they follow. The first was shopping and stopping to chat with the owner's wife. The owner walks in asking his wife how she kept me in the store until he got there to try to sell me an expensive item he just got in. This was an item I cared nothing about, didn't want but had to put up with a typically bad sales pitch because he saw me, as he claimed to his wife in the back room, as "easy" mark. Pun intended. Her reply? I bull-shitted him on topics until you showed up. I guess they didn't know I could hear them. The last straw was when a check I wrote, yes back in the primitive times, was altered by someone in the store before it was passed onto my bank for processing. I contacted the store and was given the run-around claiming they knew nothing about such a thing. After informing my bank that the alteration was not done in my name or authorization, I stopped having anything to do with their stores. read more

Walking in here for the first time, this place looks like the store has just been flipped upside down. I mean, everything is everywhere! BUT! Don't let the mess and clutter turn you away. This place has alot of interesting collectables from comics to figurines. Also I noticed their still in progress organizing the stuff in this place. Looking around at the comics section, spotted comics are arranged and organized...ish but they have a very good variety of comics. As the for figurines, they have all sorts of collectable figurines all around the store INCLUDING Japanese animated figurines. The staff were all super helpful and even helped me find what I was looking for plus more. From what I heard from other comic book stores that recommended this place to me, I get alot of "good luck finding what you need because the store is not organized at all." But in my opinion, "Don't judge this book by its cover" until you actually walk around the store. Besides the "organized mess," I highly recommend this place! Definitely coming back! read more

This place offers a HUGE selection of comics! I've been here a couple of times with my fiancé and we love browsing the aisles. Their comics are organized A-Z and there are additional comics lined up along the wall. Keep in mind that the owner is constantly moving everything around. I talked to him once about the boxes lying around and he said he goes to conventions often and constantly loads and unloads all the comics. This store is really big and while it would be nice to clear out the clutter, it's really not possible when the owner is constantly on the move. Besides the boxes, I think the comics are well organized. Every single time I've tried to look for a specific comic, I've found what I'm looking for in the section it's supposed to be. If you're looking for comic books, you'll probably find what you're looking for here. It's worth the trip! read more

The moment you walk into this store you feel like you've somehow stumbled into a hoarding nightmare.....of the best things possible! There are tons of comics new and old everywhere (literally) to some its a hindrance to me it's heaven. I wish I knew the name of the amazing guy that works there, sort of younger definitely a nerd, which is so welcoming. If you are a lover of comics then I recommend descending into the mountainous piles of comics you'll find in this store. They always have an abundance of new comics so you don't have to worry about missing out on any! I also recommend the pull list as anyone who is heavy into comics knows about, but it makes life a hell of a lot easier. read more

The good: great selection of comics and manga. Marvel, dc , image and other Indies. Great selection of figures and toys. Old and new. The best selection of back issues ive seen in this area. Staff was soild. The bad: your going to have to dig deep to find some stuff because the store is upside down. The owner doesnt seem to throw things away(you will see) Overall: you will have to know what you are looking for here. Its very easy to be overwhelmed. It loses a star because of the clutter. I can understand the store being in disarray after church long back from a show. But this is no excuse for employees acting rude. One guy acts like I'm wasting his time by asking a question, and then another guy wants to chat it up with his buddy while I'm waiting to ask about the location of certain books. If I'm such a bother as a customer, then I can take my money elsewhere. read more

My proposed slogan: Trilogy Comics: A must-visit for anyone from out of-town in Virginia Beach. Went looking for some rare books from my grandparents' day. Could be snappier, but you get the idea. I recommend having a few hours on hand and keeping an open mind. Nostalgia heaven. Find a new title to fall in love with. Browse the extensive selection of brand new books on the far wall (probably a few hundred) each week. Lots and lots of incredible stuff; you just have to be willing to dig. Came here once with my husband after moving here and trying to find "our" comic store. We bought a few books but just didn't feel welcome. My husband tried starting a few conversations while making our way around the store and it just felt awkward overall. They've got the product though and will have what you're looking for...eventually..after it's dug out lol read more

We have been to a LOT of comic book stores. This is easily in the top5. Friendly, reasonably priced, and stud everywhere. We could of probably spent the whole afternoon here. Joe was fantastic and great with our girls. We live two hours from here and will definitely come back again! read more

This is my favorite kind of comic book store -- part store, part treasure hunt. Lots of stuff in boxes, kind of organized by subject, though it's clear that at some point the sheer mass of stuff overwhelmed the space. Has a smaller sister store. Good selection of single issues (old and new), statues, soft and hardcover collected editions, and manga. read more

I can't really comment on the comics selection, but pricing here is crazy expensive. There have some neat toys, but they're all 20% or more expensive than you'd pay at similar shops. As other people mention, the store isn't well kept. There seems to be some level of organization (i.e., "books go on this wall, Doctor Who toys go on this table") but the aisles are filled with unopened boxes, the tables piled high with stuff, and if you want something off a shelf, you're likely to pull down several other items with it. There might be some hidden treasures here if you dig, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg. read more

I went in to buy one specific comic. An employee spoke to me as soon as I entered and offered help finding what I was looking for so that was great because the place is pretty overwhelming. I have been in a healthy number of comic shops but this one is probably the biggest and with the least obvious organization. That said they had what I was looking for and the man who checked me out was extremely friendly talking to me about what sort of comics I read regularly and asking if I had thought of using a subscription service. Overall a great shop with friendly and knowledgable employees even if the shop itself can be a bit overwhelming. read more

What Trilogy lacks in cleanliness, it makes up for in both customer service and what it has in stock. Trilogy has every comic you could think of. It may be hard to find what exactly you're looking for, but the employees are very kind and helpful. I drive 5 miles out of my way to Trilogy just because it's the better of the comic stores. I would highly recomend Trilogy to any new or experienced comic reader/buyer. read more

I found some action figures I was searching for. Went to ask about them, and saw an unopened case of figures on the floor. I inquired about the case on the floor, stating "I would buy the case if it had the figures I needed." The young man got an attitude, telling me all he had was out on the shelf. Choose from what he had out. Would not open the box. Very rude inconsiderate service, and the prices were very high. Would NOT recommend. Will not be back. There are other shops to buy from.
