We've had issues with boarding facilities in the past (check my reviews if interested) which left us hesitant to booking, especially considering the expense that comes with larger breed considerations. However, not only does TCC have better care, facilities, and customer service; they are also easier on the checkbook. Teddy definitely has a home away from home in TCC, and even though our new move puts us another 15 minutes out, we wouldn't go anywhere else!

At the moment, I don't have a dog but when she moves to Charlotte I will be looking to bring her here for a whole lot of running about. Volleyball courts, tennis courts, picnic tales, a massive gated playground area and tons of parking. The ballfields are currently marked off for repair, but that's a small detail. I did see a few of Charlotte's finest with their K-9 partners that were parked and doing some sort of exercise. And here's your history lesson. William Davie (1756-1820) was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was the tenth governor of North Carolina and was instrumental in the Battle of Charlotte in 1780, where his force of 150 men held off more than 2000 Redcoats. A true Charlotte hero! Great, great, GREAT park.

I walked about 3 miles, taking one branch that led to the Bank of America stadium and the Carolina Panthers training facility. There's a good deal of shade along the trails thanks to the trees. I saw a lot of Robins in and along the park trail. Frazier Park is a nice place to enjoy a walk while in the urban area of Charlotte. I enjoyed my walk there. I'll be back if I'm in the area again.

I've been taking my kids to Clarks Creek since it opened. While this park does have some pluses…read morethere are minuses. The bathrooms are almost always nasty, they either don't have toilet paper or don't have paper towels to dry your hands. If it's the summer time and you're taking your kids for the splash pad, bring water shoes. The floors are disgusting. The trashes get overflown and the flies are everywhere. I don't know who thought it was a great idea to have metal slides with no shade but if it's a peak summer day, you're not gonna want your kids going down those slides, especially if they've got shorts on, their butts will get fried. Also, not sure whose idea it was to have the wooden rocking toy thing for kids because those did not last long. The handles broke after a year. When it comes to usable things for kids to play on at this park, the options are extremely limited. I would've loved to see something that kids could actually climb on and slide from that wasn't meant to be poor installation art. The main thing our kids do when we're there is swing on the only two swings climb up in the big web net thing and roll down the turf hill. The only well-kept areas in this park are the Pickleball courts and the dog park. There's definitely ample parking. There's a community garden that you can look at. If you come at the right time when the figs are ripe, you can pick them right off the tree so that's nice.

As we entered through the double gated entry, on the left was available water for the dogs. Straight ahead was a large concrete covered patio with 4 steel tables with benches on all 4 sides. We were engulfed in a beautiful, clean, well maintained forest with a mulch floor. We were met by 9 friendly dogs and 8 friendly dog owners. In the middle of the forest was a clean, well shaded wooden bench. Beyond the fence was a state forest, so snakes have been known to enter in.

The path takes you right past the University of North Carolina Charlotte's campus, where the early fall colors are already starting to show--a gorgeous transition from the hot summer.

The directions lead you to a parking lot with ample parking. Once you enter the greenway everything gets incredibly lush. The walkway is paved and is wide enough that you can walk side by side and another couple can pass comfortably. The greenway is also well kept and free of litter. We walked all the way down to the University, tried out some outdoor fitness equipment and headed back to the car. It was Monday but the walkway was still humming with people walking and biking. The Mallard Creek Greenway is an excellent choice for a morning walk.
