I really hope to not step foot into another dealership to buy a car for the next 10yrs. And this is why I bought my third Honda. All bought from Barker Honda. My experience with the first two was too long ago to remember if it was good or bad. So let's focus on this experience. I was interested in a 2015 CRV. Test drove it an hour before closing, really liked it, now to see what I can get for it. Long story short, I got a good deal, they took my crappy car off my hands and I drove home feeling safe in my new car. Problems ....um let's call them irritants... 1. Get rid of that girl who answers the phone. She's a miserable person on the inside. Just call, you'll see what I mean. 2. No car wash even though Jason told Harry to schedule the appointment. It was late and everyone was ready to leave... WTH, I can wash my own new car, right? 3. I had to get my own inspection sticker. Why? Because it was late and everyone in the service department went home. Was told a check for $10 would be mailed but it's been nearly 3 weeks. Ah well it's done. And I threw in an extra $10 and got the 2 year sticker. The sticker was an inconvenience that I would have liked to avoid but my usual guy who I always go to boosted my confidence in my decision by saying, "Look at this, a brand new Honda. I went for a CRV and they didnt have the color that i wanted so I was gonna leave and the sales person said they could give me a good deal on a hybrid , but i didnt go there for that and they said just take it for a ride , so i did and it ran good and i really wanted to give the sales person a sale cause i thought she was a friend, so I bought it and on my way home it had a strong smell of battery acid , it really stink bad . So the next day i called and told them I wanted to return it and get a gas CRV and was told no i couldnt , then she said let me talk to the manager and i will call you back . When she called back she told me we can take it back but all we can give you back of your equity is 2500.00 dollars down from 12500.00 ,so i went back and got the CRV and they stole 10.000 from me , so it you do go there to buy a car, be carefull cause they will screw you if they get the chance. I have to give great props to the team at Barker Honda. After putting bad gas in my car, I had to have it towed to their service center but was unable to be in attendance due to the distance from my home. The staff took care of everything and kept me updated with the progress on my car and what needed to be done. They were so kind and willing to help even when I was frustrated with my own situation. They had my car fixed same day... I was so worried I wouldn't get it back until after Christmas! Took my car there twice to get service done. I was used to get a free car wash at my previous dealership in FL and for my surprise my car came back as dirty as it was before. We made an appt at 9:00AM the second time, dropped the car and they said it would take a couple of hours. 4 hours later I call them to get my car because I have an appt and need my car, Jason tells me they are going as fast as they can. Then I asked if they had a rental, he said yes but I have to pay $25. Seriously?!? Then 5 minutes later they called saying the car was ready. Absolutely ridiculous! Did they get the job done? Yes. Very poor customer service! If u are not rich coming in to trade a brand new vehicle, do not come here. They promise to help people with less than perfect credit, and my credit score isn't even that low. Just have one item I am disputing. So they already had a copy of my credit because I pre-applied. I went just for info and to test drive a car. I asked them what my car would be worth as is. My car is still a good nice running car. It's not perfect. But kbb and n.a.d.a said it was worth about 4 to 5000. There's is nothing wrong with it mechanically and it has a small dent on one side. I also have a sensor out. But that is an easy fix. I did say on kbb that it was in fair condition. The man who attempted to help me was shaking like he was on drugs or something. He wouldn't answer my questions about the cars they had available because I didn't like the one I test drove. I asked if they could give me a rough estimate of what they would give me for my trade-in. I could tell he didn't even want to do that but he went and got whoever it was, I guess it was the manager she had short blond hair I didn't get her name. They both looked at my car like it was a piece of crap. My car still runs great, it has a dent in a few little scratches here and there but it's still a 2010 with not that many miles. Black Charger Rallye edition V6 3.5L. They acted like I was lying about the sensor. And she made some snide comments when she looked at the body. I told them everything from the beginning. I could just tell they didn't want to sell me a car. But their website states that they help people with less than perfect credit. That there are all kinds of financing options available. I also was going to give a cash down payment of 3500. But they will never receive my business. They are stuck up and rude. Even if they couldn't help me out. I live in California and found a vehicle that I was interested in buying from this dealership. After talking to the sales person and getting everything ready to purchase the vehicle I find out that they had sold the car. I was never notified nor was I given a call to tell me that the car was sold. Spoke to the manager and she was rude and no customer service. So much for southern confer. I would never want to deal with this dealership again and hope others would choose wisely. read more

Dealer is complacent with Honda to cover and benefit from repairs to a well known and well documented factory defect known as busted condensor coil from road debris. Even extended warranty which they actively pushed me to buy did nothing to help cover the $720 cost of the repair. read more

After confirming with the dealership by phone that the vehicle was on the property we made a trip from New Orleans to Houma only to find out they the car was not on the property but rather at a service shop a mile away. We then went with the salesman to view the vehicle at the service shop. The vehicle could not be taken for a test drive because the window seal would not allow the car to close. The salesman then asked if we wanted to draw up the paperwork for the sale. We advised that we wanted to test drive the car before we sign the final sales papers which he was agreeable to. This was in a Friday and the part was going to be in to repair the vehicle on Monday. We placed a call to the dealership on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday when we finally was able to speak to someone to confirm that they received the car back and it was available to test drive if we wanted to come back. So we did. We made the drive back from New Orleans to Houma for a second time and without any prior telephone call or alert was told when we pulled up that they accepted a deposit on the vehicle that we called in regards to and made two separate trips to come test drive and purchase. Never once were we told that they would accept a deposit to hold the vehicle but rather simply wanted to execute sales papers. So after leave work early, TWICE, and making the drive from New Orleans to Houma, the vehicle was sold without any notice, option, or professional courtesy. Absolutely a deplorable dealership to do business with. Stay away from this dealership. If you're from outside of Houma, definitely do not waste you time or energy with a couple that conducts business as unprofessional as this dealership. No integrity!!!! We purchased our car on a Saturday. It was delivered to us on a Monday. We live 90 miles away from this dealership and they were suppose to go through it before delivery, it's used. Monday morning it's delivered, Filthy!!! Fries down in the seat, stains on the carpet, sticky cup holders, actually worse than when we saw it!! But the worst part is the check engine light was on as well as other warming indicators. Immediately called them and was told to take it to a local dealer and they make it right. It has a broken axel!!!!!!!Once dealership learned the extent of work need they denied payment!!! The ink isn't even dry on my purchase, they lied about making it right, about inspecting the car, everything about this situation is bad!!! This car was a replacement from the one we lost in the flood in New Orleans and they know that but could care less. It's simply unbelievable! These people are crooks!!!! read more

First of all I live and work out of town. I would have to take the day off from work in order to find out what these error codes are or could mean. Nine months ago we purchased a used Honda Pilot from Barker Honda. We asked the salesman if it had ever been in an accident and for service details on the vehicle ,as the original owner had purchased it new from them and all maintaince work was done there. We were told it was in great condition ,no accidents , up to date on all maintaince work and that the owner had traded it in on a new Pilot. Now nine months later we decided that we would like a truck. We went to Barker Honda about trading it in on a truck and they gave us a very low trade in offer. We were quoted a price of $14,500 on the truck we were interested in and found it on their website for $13,995. Today we went on line and found out it too had been in a wreck and the salesman again did not tell us. We had to find this out on our own .We also went to several other dealerships and they didn't offer us half what we paid for for the Pilot. After one dealership ran a carfax report ,we found out why. The Pilot was involved in a rear end collision. We would have NEVER bought the Pilot had Barker Honda been honest and disclosed this information to us. We called the salesman ,Mark about what we had learned and all we got from him was, "I don't recall." Today we received a call from Lisa Barker who at first was very rude and short. She asked how she could make things right and Bruce told her give him a good trade allowance and come down on the price of a truck. She informed him that the vehicle we looked at had been in an accident and he told her that today we found that information on line and we didn't want it. No other offers or suggestions were made to make this matter right. I would not recommend Barker Honda to anyone and if you do decide to buy a used vehicle be sure and get a copy of the carfax report as you can not trust what they tell you. read more

Not the swifted place I had to deal with . They take their good ole time to answer phone calls and they tell you how long it will take but always add on an hour to an hour in half over what they tell you . Service is not that great there at all but Honda's are my only one to buy . This is my 3rd Honda. If the service would be better to help the customers it would be getting 5 star ratings from me . However service people there are cold and dry and very unfriendly ! So in my eyes 2 star is even to much for those 2 main reasons . You want a person with a good so call bed side manner even on your car and there , sorry to say there are not any . Service department need a few nicer men and women to handle you when you bring your car in . Honda C R V does get a 5 star rating on that end . Service like a said a 2 is a bit high but lets face it , it could me a one and it is very close to that at times !
