This is amazingly personalized and attentive care, as dog kennels go, with rates that are very fair for the area. These appear to be standard, pretty spacious, kennel runs. We have used Bark Park, formerly DeLanda, for many years - and keep returning due to the diligence to the individual pets' and our needs. We have used them from short 2-day stays to as long as up to 3+ weeks. We've boarded a dog who was in his last, faltering months of life - and were so relieved that our wishes re: "do not resuscitate; humane but not aggressive care" were thoughtfully taken seriously, and noted. Didn't end up an issue while there, but we felt completely at ease. Our dogs are house pets, sleep in our beds and are used to their "creature comforts", so to speak, and never have they returned from Bark Park seeming distraught or traumatized by the kennel, vs a "luxury" boarding experience! They welcome being called to see how your pet is doing. We've boarded an elderly Australian Shepherd who hated seeing other dogs, and they thoughtfully (on their own, unasked) hung a tarp up so she wouldn't have to look at the others! We boarded 3 dogs who were only recently living together, and although we wanted 2 together in 1 run, we weren't sure which two would end up doing better.... so Kelsie figured it out, and did a little switching around - based on her genuine caring about dogs, and observation of their behaviors. Another time, we boarded 2 together in same run, where we suspected the dominant one may have stolen food from the other - so on next boarding, this was mentioned, and they solved the problem by having them take their meals separately, then reunite after eating; AND Bark Park remembered this on 2 subsequent visits, having noted it in the records - so we didn't have to say a thing! (good thing, because I had forgotten...!) Our fearful pit mix is happy to go there now. Our other dog usually acts unhappy to be left, but always returns looking healthy, no weight loss (darn!), and always happy to greet the care takers the next time around. We have never had a dog return with an injury or other physical problem. We have brought dogs with existing, (minor injuries) - and when picked up, someone always lets us know what they've observed re: how it's doing, healing, etc; They now take credit cards, which is a nice convenience, although we still opt to pay cash when possible to avoid the card fee. I see one other review on this site, and apparently the reviewer had a positive experience. I'm happy for her, because I did not - and I'm just as protective about my dog's welfare. I had a generally uneasy feeling about this place when I walked in. On both arrival and pickup I was dealt with by a young man whose vague responses about everything didn't instill confidence. Then there's the fact that De Landa refuses to accept anything other than cash, which is pretty absurd (not to mention inconvenient). The kennel has a general air of poor organization, and they were very business-like with my dog when they took her. When I returned to get her a week later, I found that the dog bed I'd brought for her was missing, and she was instead lying on a thin and very worn old blanket. When I enquired where her bed was, the young man said he didn't know, but that it had probably been taken out for laundering, and that I was supposed to have marked it with the dog's name. No one had told me this at check-in (I've taken beds to other kennels and have never had this issue). We went searching for the bed through piles of wet laundry strewn around a room, to no avail. The young man didn't apologize, but suggested I leave a description "in case it turned up". Of course I never got it back, and so am out a $50 bed (the man informed me curtly that they weren't responsible for anything owners bring in). I had no sense of particular caring about my dog (who is very friendly and easy) - it was all very business-like, and badly organized at that. If they're not going to tell people that they remove beds for washing, one would think that they could develop some simple system for marking them so that they know which dog to return an item too. Sadly, this seems to be beyond the organizational capabilities of the staff. I've since found Atwoods Pet Resort (now called Hillrose) near Seatac, which is a model of a professional operation and where all the staff make a huge fuss of my dog, and where everything was clearly well organized and clean. It's 3 bucks more per day than De Landa, but worth every cent. read more

The manager Elena is the go to dog guru, she has an infinite knowledge of all dogs and is more than willing to answer any questions you have about the canine kind! The dogs always come home happy and tuckered out and you just can't drive by this place without your dogs getting excited :) I've heard of multiple generations of families boarding their dogs here and I think that speaks volumes in itself! read more

I have boarded my dogs at Delanda since I moved to Seattle 12 years ago. Yes, I drive all the way to Bothell just to board my dogs at Delanda. The staff are the best!!! They treat each dog as if it were their own. My most recent rescue dog does not like other people, yet she adores the staff at Delanda. I can trust my precious dog Girlfriend with the wonderful people at Delanda. Oh and the facilties are great!! Spacious runs, indoor and out, heated in a beautiful setting. I would be heartbroken if they ever closed their doors, and Girlfriend would be too!!!. read more

I just picked Cooper up after a long weekend and was again, grateful to have such a fine facility in my neighborhood! There is very little (if any) turnover of personnel which is another strong indication of a well run business where the owners, other personnel and customers are happy. The folks are friendly, professional and clearly enjoy animals! The kennel is clean and well maintained. I personally appreciate that it is "cash only" when you retrieve (pun intended!) your pet because it helps minimize over spending on vacation! Cooper will be going back later this summer and I can leave him there knowing he will be well taken care of! read more

I took my dog Tess there to stay and it was great. She had never been away overnight before. When I picked her up she was happy to see me, and I can tell they took great care of her. The prices are awesome and the staff are friendly and really do show how much they like your animal. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thanks for loving my dog as much as I do. read more

We have used Delanda about 6 times since moving to Shoreline. We board our lab and two cats with them. Our dog just loves going there. He thinks he's going to doggy camp. He is always greeted by name and it's often months between visits. We ask for a bath before picking him up and he's shiny and smells so good. Cats aren't big fans of boarding but they do provide a nice place for them. It's in a separate building with large spaces, and the cats can't even hear the dogs. They play a radio for them to keep them calm and in the winter, it's warm and cozy. Each time they go, they do a little better. They get plenty of clean fresh water and extra attention, if the kitties aren't too shy. I feel so good about leaving them here. read more

We are so glad we found Delanda Dog Inn! When we moved to the area we searched around for a long time trying to find a place we felt comfortable leaving our dog. Each time we left her somewhere we returned home to a very anxious and stressed dog. One day I drove past Delanda and decided to try it the next time we needed to find a place for our pup. The staff were very kind and organized but there were two things that made the biggest impact on me. Firstly, when they saw our dog, they thought for a minute before saying "you know, I think she would do great by this new puppy we have - they would be a good match." They were already thinking of how to make her as comfortable as possible. Secondly, I returned home to a calm, peaceful dog. She wasn't anxious at all. To me that is all the proof I need! This place isn't fancy. Your dog isn't going to have their own down comforter or personal TV but the people who are working her have good hearts and truly care for the animals in their care. I was VERY impressed with my recent experience at Delanda Dog Inn. I recently moved to Seattle, and was nervous about leaving my dog in a new place for the Christmas holiday. I read reviews for Delanda Dog Inn, and thought I would give them a try, even though the Inn is a drive from my Seattle home. We left our dog here for a week over the Christmas holiday while we were home in Florida. As soon as we dropped off our dog, we knew she was in good hands. The staff at Delanda let our dog pick out her neighbor -- by letting our dog sniff all of the other dogs and choose which dog she wanted to be next to in the run. The next day, we received a text message from the staff at Delanda letting us know that our dog was doing great, and that they all loved her. On Christmas, we received a text message with a picture of our dog and a message that they were out on a Christmas walk. When we picked up our dog yesterday, she was happy as a clam. The staff at Delanda are incredibly caring and I will definitely be back. read more
