Small location in the gables with great Colombian comfort food. Stopped for breakfast and looking forward to coming back for lunch. Seems like a family business. The ladies working were great. A+

I had a very good iced coffee here. Tucked away this is a hidden gem. To eat, I had the tuna sandwich. Grilled bread with tomato lettuce and onion. The chips that came with it were delicious they tasted like they were made there. They were very friendly and clean here.

Exceptional little cafe with great food and GREAT coffee. Colombian food prepared with love. Multiple specials everyday. Cute interior, a few small tables along the wall. I'd be a regular if I lived here. The coffee was sensational.

Great lunch spot hidden in the gables. Mother and daughter owners we super sweet. They took care of me and my date even when they were about to close. Would highly recommend for your Colombian fix.

What a cute spot!! 10000% will be coming back here...probably this weekend lol. This is a Colombian cafe that is super fresh and bright. We only got coffee, but the food looked amazing! I want to come back here for some arepas and platanos. Our coffees were excellent. We ordered a cappuccino and a cortadito. The espresso they use is fabulous, I'm low key obsessed. It's a small spot and would be easy to miss on salzedo, but it's totally worth a visit!

Barista cafe is a small family owned Colombian restaurant right by Miracle Mile. They just refurbished the inside and did a excellent job. I love supporting small business and the staff at Barista cafe is the nicest you will come across. They are all extremely friendly every time I order here (at least once a week). We always order empanadas( with picante or green sauce) ham & cheese croissants, chicken wrap, sancocho soup, ensalada de garbanzos, so far we had yet to find a meal we didn't like. Barista is a delicious yet not crazy expensive spot to get good home cooked food as if you were in Colombia. Each day they have a daily special or you can also order something off their menu (I've attached pictures). If you're looking for good Colombian food in Coral Gables this is definitely your spot.

i went into this cafe thinking that it wouldn't contain much or that i wouldn't be pleased with what they had to offer but to my surprise, the staff was incredibly sweet even during lunch rush which makes the atmosphere nicer and welcoming. i ordered "amanecer barista" & it was everything in more, it tasted so yummy & fresh + don't even get me started on how AMAZING the coffee tasted, i haven't tasted such a delicious cafe con leche until i came here. if you are have a quick craving, i highly recommend for you to come here!

Excellent spot in Coral Gables for a healthy breakfast or lunch. It's very reasonably priced and has a homey Colombian ambiance. I work in the Gables and I eat here all the time. The place is impeccable, and the service and food are excellent. Highly recommend!

I was feeling sick one day and wanted a soup and this place looked like a good option. I got a pumpkin soup and a ham and cheese sandwich. The pumpkin soup was really fantastic. It was exactly how I like pumpkin soups, not as thick as most places nowadays. Perfect for a sore throat. I really enjoyed it. The sandwich was pressed and really good and came with chips. It had a good amount of cilantro mayo on it which I love but may be a problem for any of you cilantro/mayo haters. Together it was less than 10 bucks. It was the middle of the lunch rush but the place was pretty quiet. Definitely a good place to run to if you're in a hurry. My only gripe is that it seems like they have a lot more options available than their menu indicates. I would have liked to know what salads or specials they had without having to ask the girl at the counter (she didn't seem very chatty.)

Some Colombian restaurants rent in places where the lease is absorbed by the paying customer in the charge of food- this is simply not the case here This restaurant is a staple of the area and don't be surprised to walk in and hear patrons greet the staff as if they were regulars because they most certainly are familiar faces I ordered a bone broth to start with grilled steak and rice entrée and finished with a cup of coffee that was brewed to perfection This is the kind of place you go for quality food in a cozy environment Parking is somewhat limited out front, which adds to the exclusivity of it unless you're in a walking distance While I was there, I also noticed a multitude of Mobile dining orders, which lets you know plenty of people want with this place has to offer and after having eaten here today, I can completely see why: great food great staff amazing price points

The girl that answered was super friendly and told me they could have them ready for the time I ordered, which was great!! I got to the location for my pick up and the whole parking situation was a mess. I had to park a bit far, which was more of an inconvenience than an actual problem. Once in there, I went to the counter where there were 3 ladies working. I'm literally in front of them and about 4 minutes went by before any of them even acknowledged my presence. I'm the one that finally spoke up and said "buenas tardes" and they acted as if I had just miraculously appeared in front of them. I find this absolutely shocking, as most Colombian restaurants are so welcoming and polite. I ask for my order and they tell me to wait a moment. About another 5 minutes go by and they bring out my order horribly covered with some aluminum foil. In the car I grabbed an empanada to have a taste and it is all burned inside and out. When I got to my gathering I removed the aluminum foil and about 10 empanadas were in the same badly burned condition. These empanadas cost a little over $2 a piece! I paid $90+!! I understand Saturday was the Colombia game and they must have been swamped, but if you can't provide quality product, don't overwhelm yourself by taking on more than your kitchen can handle. The oil must not have been the right temperature cause the empanadas were extremely greasy. Luckily we were able to place them on some paper towels to soak up the grease and most of them were consumed. Everyone said that the taste was decent, but they were definitely over fried. I have no idea what their food and service is if you dine in, however I highly recommend not ordering out. There's much better Colombian places.

It took a little while, but completely understandable and the wait time was convenient for how packed the place was. The only reason I'm giving a four instead of a five was the service was a LITTLE slow. I understand again they were doing as good a job as possible for how packed the place was, but I had asked for water when our server took our order and I didn't get water till every single person at our table had to reask for water and I finally got some post meal. Our server was really nice, but again, took a while to get water, but we got another round of sangria and received those before the water. The place was bumping and people were dancing and having a good time. I would MAYBE check this place out again on a slower day. I hear they have mariachi!

Steaks are the small thin marinated ones common to South American cooking. Most plates featured very good versions of chicarrones. Or more precisely a Colombian sausage in a hot dog bun with potato sticks on top plus melted cheese plus two different kinds of sauce. That was one fine fine fine fine hot dog. * * * Although it does not say so on the menu. Any hot dog like dish here will come with enough French fries to feed a second grade classroom. You will NOT go hungry. Me not knowing about the French fries ordered maduros and a salad. The waitress brought me their Caesar salad which is a family plate big enough to feed TWO second grade classrooms. (The amount of salad is about the same as the amount of French fries, but second graders eat more French fries than they do salad.) I had about six weeks of food there. For a minute, I thought I was in Havana Harry's. The side dishes were all pleasant enough but basic for what they were. With one exception. Caesar salads in Colombia have flat squares of a salty slightly bitter cheese and an alternative version of a Thousand Island dressing. The alt dressing and the alt cheese go together just fine. This is one good salad well worth having again. * * * The Choripan is a total destination dish. The side accompaniments are completely pleasant for what they are. I would eat here again happily. Note that just one dish will hold you even if they call it an antojo. White boxes exist for those who succumb to temptation.

As someone who follows a plant-based lifestyle, it's not always easy finding Latin restaurants that don't use animal products in their beans, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they don't. We actually discovered this place by accident two weeks ago when the restaurant we originally planned to visit was closed on a Monday. We needed something nearby, so I jumped on Yelp, saw the great reviews, and decided to give it a try. I wasn't expecting much, but I was completely impressed. Everything we've tried has been simple, fresh, and delicious. The Ensalada Turca is my favorite and an absolute must-try.
