This morning, I stopped at Samuel Beckett bridge and got a flat white from @baristaangel. Their supplier is Illy. I had a small sip, the intensity and creaminess of the flat white were blissful. You can easily tell it's both the quality of the beans used, as well as the craft itself. I have made a habit of trying the same type of coffee (flat white) from different places and give verdicts on which is the best. After leaving Barista Angel, I went to Surge Coffee in St Rogersons Quay, I had never gotten a chance to see what they're about in means of coffee. I asked for the flat white, of course, and told them I'm trying to compare between theirs and the one bought earlier. Despite saying this, the looks of the Surge flat white wasn't enough to give them my vote for the day, all I could taste was the milk, I could hardly get any sort of kick from the coffee, it felt extremely weak, not sure whether it's because they might be using a single shot of espresso instead of a double one which should be the norm. Long story short, Surge was disappointing, big shout to Barista Angel at Samuel Beckett, keep up the good work! read more
