If you are ever in the market for a neat lamp, her husband makes them and they are amazing. All kinds of unique pieces turned into lamps. It is what it is…read more I'm not a big shopping guy and even less a TJ Maxx guy. But, from time-to-time, I am dragged in there. So, if you've ever been to a TJ Maxx, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They place is always a disaster with a moderate rhyme-or-reason to where things are. Sure, you can find the luggage section, or the shoe aisles, or clothes, etc. But, you might be at the shoe rack and come across a decent pair of dress shoes, right next to a pair of slippers, right next to those measuring cups for the kitchen that you suddenly had to have. Now, I'm not sure if that's how TJ Maxx gets you or if that's just lazy customers. Either way, it's genius. Anyone who says that more than 75% of the time the go into a TJ Maxx for something specific but ultimately walk out with 1 to 9 items that they didn't come in for would be lying. On top of that, they're walking out with those 1 to 9 other items and in many cases, not what they originally came in for. These are hard facts. It's a brilliant marketing scheme. Being completely bewildered in an aisle that seemed to make very little sense to me, I asked on of the workers who was stocking the shelves how she knew where to even put things. I had been browsing through this aisle for a few minutes and noticed her taking things off of her stock cart and putting them on shelves, in between other completely related items. She said that in some cases they have a general idea where things go and just find a space. That's a perfect way to describe many of the aisles of TJ Maxx. Again - this is either insane or genius. I'm guessing it's the latter. Would I go back? I don't know. Probably. I would never think of going there. I'll never say, "hey, I need to run to TJ Maxx". But thinking about it, I should. Because they honestly seem to have everything you could ever think of. This isn't a bad review. Like TJ Maxx, it's a very hard to define review. If you like browsing, look no further. You could spend hours here. Think of it as an indoor scavenger hunt. Pro Tip: If you're looking for something in particular and don't find it in the area you locate that has similar items....say shoes... keep looking in other aisles around that general area or quarter of that part of the store. You may still find what you're looking for among things that are completely unrelated. This too, is a fact. I have literally had this experience myself. Think of it as a real life Highlights magazine picture search. I can almost guarantee if you look closely between the items in the aisle that has hard candies, holiday gnomes, assorted Keurig K-cups and socks, there is a real good chance you'll find that meat thermometer between the toddler size tap shoes and gourmet peanut brittle.

On 5/25, after contacting them several times and being told they had no idea where in the process our order was, we contacted Bassett directly and were told 1) our order was not even placed until 3/30 and 2) our order was not even in production yet. We were assured by Shauna at that time that if we did not cancel the order with them that we would have it in June. On 6/28, my husband went to the store and was told, again by Shauna, that they did not have the order but they could surely have it in July. Also, that they are moving, which was evident by the appearance of the showroom, but couldn't give out a forwarding address yet. He asked then that the order be cancelled and we be given a full refund. We will see if this company has any integrity, and returns our money after this debacle.

There is a picture posted for this location and this is actually a Dollar General and not a Dollar Tree. I only want to stress that because not everything is $1 here, like at the Dollar Tree. Whole different store... Now, the Dollar General is great because it's basically a mini grocery store, and I can't even tell you how many things I've found in here that were double the price at the Kroger across the way. I'm not talking about just the cleaning products and sponges either... I buy this canned chicken that is usually pretty pricy at Kroger and it was close to a $2 difference here. I added that one to the mental notes of where to get my expensive things cheaper. If I'm due for a hefty grocery trip, I will stop up here before hitting the big stores. I have left this place with a cart full of items that filled my fridge and cabinets for a month at a fraction of the cost. I still get my meat, cheese, milk etc from the bigger stores, but I can tell you that if you venture in here, you will most likely see me wandering the aisles filling my cart with both things I need, and those that I don't need.

The teacher is great and they have two printing presses. I've made prints - one of them hangs in my sons home proudly. Also, used the prints to put onto tote bags. They were exploring screen printing recently. Other classes include photography, mosaics, music, pottery, yoga and jewelry making. There are different exhibits going on as well as musical shows now and then. It is definitely a jewel in Hamilton.

I…read morecould not be more excited about it because the last time we had a comic book shop in Hamilton was when I was a small child, and then that quickly turned into a tobacco store of all things! It's so great to not have to travel at least 30 minutes away to get some fresh comics. The owner, Brian, is super very friendly and helpful. He is one of the nicest, coolest people you'll ever meet. He's not at all stuck up or rude like at other comic shops... *cough* Queen City Comics *cough cough*. They sell new comic issues and some back issues as well. If you don't see something you want, Brian will be more than happy to try to order it in for you if he can. He started carrying Invader Zim just for me and my husband. They also sell toys and collectibles, they have a good selection of Funko Pop figures. They sell graphic novels, manga, table top gaming supplies and t-shirts too. He is always getting some good rare stuff into the store that he found at flea markets or auctions. They also regularly hold costume contests, signings by artists, and other such events. They have a table top gaming space in the back of the store. I know he is trying to get a program started where people can come in, sit down, chill out and try out a table top game, and afterwards he will start selling the games in the store if people really take to it. Indeed, this is a godsend and a lovely, wonderful gem to have in Hamilton. Do yourself a favor and stop in, chat with Brian, buy some of his awesome merch, and maybe sit down for a game or two.
