This was my first place to try waxing and it was a great experience. I was very lucky to get Elan Berg as my beautician and she was very friendly. I like her because she is very thorough and made me feel comfortable and making sure I was okay through out the process. The wax they use is cold honey wax and I like that since there is no fear of double dipping. And gloves are used for cleanliness. And the pricing for this place is decent. I like that I can make reservations online and they tell you if there is a special pricing. I definitely would recommend this place to any one who is looking for a good waxing salon. I am a bit wary if the place is cleaned out after each person since there are times when it is back to back customers. I hope they do switch out the towels and not only just dust everything off. My cousin had been pushing me to finally do some sugar waxing. (mind you I've never waxed before) she said it wasn't that bad and i wouldn't want to shave ever again. So i finally decided to book my appointment. She recommended i go with Sherly, luckily she had time in the morning. When i went inside she explained to me it would hurt a little just because it was my first time but she was very sweet and kept me calm. I will admit it did hurt,,,, (mind you my tolerance for pain is weak) She kept me calm and at ease even when i kept moving around when she removed the sugar wax. It is inexpensive, which is great. However they only do Sugaring, which in my opinion is a lot more painful and takes longer than waxing. (Which is not the salon's fault). The first time I went I had Liz and she was very nice and good. The second time I had someone not as friendly, but still pretty good. You can also hear everyone in the salon and so it's kind of awkward. Overall it's a good place to go. But the atmosphere didn't convince me to switch from waxing. read more

I'm so glad I decided to do this. I had a discount through the fitforbucks app. I'd been wanting to try the sugar wax because I heard it was less painful than the normal waxing. I was still a little bit painful, but overall it was was definitely less painful and it was bearable. My appointment was with Jenny. She was absolutely amazing! She was very sweet and personable. I was so nervous to do this and she immediately put me as ease through the process. She explained everything as she did it. We also had a great conversation about life. She told me how she got into this job and how she feels it's her calling. She also helped me feel empowered for doing this. I decided to do this just for me, but I didn't know if that was weird since I'm not in a relationship or anything. Hi, So this was my first time ever getting a wax, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was painful!! However Sam the one who did the waxing for me was GREAT! she made me feel completely comfortable the entire time, talking to me to avoid focusing on the pain and letting me know what she's doing the whole time. I got waxed by Elan who was very sweet and quick! Parking - self park in 30 min zone which is free up to 30 min and flat $2 if you go over OR valet. they validate for parking underneath up to 90 mins - so go ahead and valet your car. the 90 min valet option is better than the 30 min parking since you're going to pay $2 (or more depending on how much you like to tip) Might as well take your time. 1 star off because the girl in the front wasn't direct about the parking situation when I asked. She suggested I look for street parking (which I did) although they offer validation. I found this out after the fact when I asked her if they offer validation in which she replied yes. This place is clean, cute, modern, and the price is right for Brazillians! I bought my Groupon for this place, but when that ran out, I bought a couple of their 6 packs, which they promote twice a year, and saved a lot of money that way. I'm not sure that sugar wax is necessarily less painful than traditional hot wax, but maybe that's because I like that the hot wax opens up my pores and distracts me from the pain of the actual waxing! Ladies, lets be real... we all dream of being "bare down there" but the thought of the pain from the wax and someone who you JUST met being all up in your private lady parts are enough to make you say "Oh, I prefer the natural look." Those were my thoughts EXACTLY until my dear friend convinced me to do it. I did my research about "sugar waxing" and I liked the idea there wasn't going be HOT wax next to my lady parts. Honestly this is best and ONLY great wax experience I've ever had!! I used to always get waxed but I moved far from my normal wax girl and was hesitant to try anyone else. Wow... love this place. I got my very first sugaring from Carla, unfortunately this was her last day but she taught me a lot about this type of waxing. This was definitely one of the less painful waxes I've had and when I left I wasn't super red or enflamed so I definitely believe sugar wax is way more gentler than hard wax. Also I love how this place is affordable, it makes me want to come and wax so much more than other pricey spots. Had such a great experience here this evening with Jazmin (I believe this is how she spells her name). This was my second time at Lay Bare (I purchased the 2 for $50 special for new customers). My first experience was so-so. I didn't have Jazmin and I don't remember the name of the woman who helped me. I had only waxed once before so the experience was pretty painful for me. The results were well worth it though and the healing process was easy. I did have some random hair strands left over. However, my second experience tonight really sold me on doing sugaring regularly at Lay Bare. Jazmin was so friendly and I was so impressed with her attention to detail. Obviously a Brazilian is an uncomfortable experience if you've never done it, but she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. The second time didn't hurt nearly as bad as the first. Some areas hurt more than others, and Jazmin would stop and give me a second to breathe if it was getting to be too much. Overall, it's a great place. The interior is cute and modern. Fiona and her staff at Lay Bare are amazing. When I first called to make an appointment at Lay Bare no one picked up so I left a message and within the hour Fiona called me back. Already prompt and excellent customer service. Then the day of my appointment I hit heavy traffic on my way to Lay Bare. When I called to let them know, they said "no problem we will wait for you". I ended up getting to there 30 minutes late and they still greeted me with a smile. I did not have to wait, which I would have expected because I was 30 minutes late. I went in to get a Brazilian and my eyebrows done, they did an excellent job. They Brazilian was the best I have had so far. The sugar wax they use is the best, because with a regular HOT wax your skin is slightly burned and inflamed, whereas with their sugar wax you don't have to worry about being burned or your skin being too inflamed. I have sensitive skin and usually after a regular Brazilian wax my skin is red, inflamed and I am in pain for hours. Love the pricing! I prefer sugaring over waxing any day. They do a great job. This particular salon takes a lot longer than other sugaring places I have gone to, however the pain is a lot less as they do smaller sections. So if you're looking for quick this is not the place, but a great option if you are not in any rush. Long over-due review. I came here in July and my wac was SO painful. I wax monthly and have never experienced pain this bad. I came home and saw that my tech had removed a tiny bit of skin-leaving it bleeding. She also left a bit of hair when I paid for a Brazilian (full hair removal) I had to fight the urge to not come back and show how pissed I really was.
